Where Gambit's condition grows worse.

Bump if you're reading.

…Who is this random kid?
>>
>>
>The random kid is Gambit’s future unconceived son
Can we please leave the future kid bullshit back in AoR instead of bringing it here with us to the present?
>>

Wait, why are the weird Sentinels from two arcs ago back? Weren't they A.I.-generated?

>All of Haven House’s hens have been killed
Wouldn’t Logan be able to smell the blood if all of them died?

So NOW you’re able to smell it and whatever killed them.

Welp, that’s another mutant kid to look after.

The demonic Sentinels are not happy with Gambit…

Just say that you don’t want to get bitten again.

>”It’s gonna bite me. What is it? What is it?”
Well, it’s a robot that is piloted by a live dog inside. And who knows when the sentinel program will activate and it starts biting everyone?

This is Repent, the X-Orcist. He will (hopefully) help out Gambit in the next two issues to get rid of the Eye. Say something nice about him.

And now for Bishop.

Last time, Lucas found himself face-to-face with his sister Shard, who had yet to go through the mission that would lead to her death and had instead traveled back in time to stop and arrest Flamequake. Shard explains to Lucas that Flamequake is a part of the Final Brotherhood – a trio of mutant criminals who are descendants of the original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants members – and that they had traveled to the present in order to kill the time traveler from their time who they believe is responsible for Earth-1191 existing in the first place (ie. Lucas). While Lucas still contemplated on whether or not he should tell Shard information that could potentially prevent her fate, the siblings were suddenly ambushed by Skippingstone, the descendant of Blob and Toad. Knowing that he might be erased from reality if he succeeded with the Final Brotherhood’s mission, Skippingstone decided that he was going to first kill Shard in front of Lucas instead!

I mean we have a team of X-Men in a giant factory towering over a town and that uses a flying ship to go everywhere so this already reads dumb

I have to say that I like what Mirrormind has done. Adding a bunch of floating mirrors everywhere really adds to it.

Unfortunately, the people on the boat were not a fan of the design, and they got killed over it.

Mirrormind is a Mastermind/Mystique fusion?
Okay, the name gave away the Mastermind connection, but Mastermind can already use illusions to disguise himself. What does the Mystique part really add?

And while we wait for that, we got a pretty major announcement.

>Jean Grey is coming home—and she's bringing the fire.

>Following her intergalactic adventures as Phoenix, Jean Grey returns to Earth this November in JEAN GREY #1, the start of a five-issue limited series from X-Men (2024) writer Jed MacKay and acclaimed artist Rogê Antônio, known for his recent work on Cyclops (2026). Announced earlier today in AIPT Comics' X-Men Monday column, the series comes hot on the heels of DNX, the upcoming X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover from MacKay and artist Federico Vicentini. The shocking conclusion of DNX sends Jean racing back to Earth, only to find the X-Men's world dramatically changed. The fallout she was too late to stop will ignite a new era for MacKay's work on X-Men, and it all begins here!

>BURNING ON RE-ENTRY IN THE AFTERMATH OF DNX! The Phoenix is headed to Earth. Jean Grey is aflame within. When she touches down, will she consume all she touches…or will she maintain control of the life-giving, life-taking power coursing through her?
>>
File: jean2026001_san.jpg (173 KB, 1050x1594)
173 KB JPG
>"More than anything, it felt like it was time—Jean coming into X-Men was largely precluded by the Phoenix series that was running when we launched, and even after that wrapped, I continued to hold off on it until the time seemed right," MacKay explained to AIPT. "After all, adding the Phoenix to your team book throws off the balance in a pretty dramatic way. Now, post-DNX, we're going to see the X-Men in a position to need Jean Grey—and Jean Grey in a position to need the X-Men. Dovetailing that into this moment being one where Jean is in the public consciousness more than she has previously just worked."

>Speaking to AIPT about the impact of DNX, X-Men Editor Tom Brevoort shared, "In terms of after-effects, you already know about one thing that'll be coming straight out of it: JEAN GREY. And it'll have an impact on the launch of Maximum X-Men as well, though not to the point where you'll have to have read one to follow the other. The effects will also ripple out to some degree across the other books. But the biggest place it will hit is in Alaska and in Jed's slice of the pie, where it will be relatively seismic."

So yes: Jean is finally back and will be joining Adjectiveless X-Men going forward, and we're most likely getting a massive team shake-up. But since MacKay already teased that Jean would return if Cyclops died back in Adjectiveless X-Men #10 >>147299301, that means that he's most likely dying in DNX.

Some might argue it was to prevent spoilers but I've long suspected that when Disney officially cut Perlmutter out of the loop at Fiege's request, the comics side of the company that stayed with Perlmutter was locked out of the MCU pipeline with him so their attempts at synergy since are just tea leaf readings of the promotional material... inadvertently proving why Fiege was right to cut them out

>>155098194, but do you really think that’s going to last any longer? With Disney taking more direct control after the move and babies being very marketable, I am absolutely confident that a good portion of couples that Marvel still has are going to be with child in the next decade.

Seriously, screenshot this and mock me if by 2036 the following couples:
>Rogue and Gambit
>Sue and Reed (again)
>Cyclops and Jean (again)
>Clea and Dr. Strange

And the following heroes:
>Black Panther
>Iron Man
>Captain America
>The Punisher (non-dead)
>Storm

somehow avoid getting canon, 616, blood-or-adoption-related kids.
Disney can feel the pendulum shifting, but they want to keep their old ways. Any new writers or editorial that replace the Good Old Boys Club will want some kind of progression. The only reason I don’t have Spidey listed here is because he’s technically already had a kid, and there’s such a vortex of anal idiocy around him that it’s unlikely he’ll end up with one before the other guys here.

Babies are marketable. Children are both marketable and relatable. Disney can easily use children as excuses to pass on the torch and try a second push for their failed “Champions,” and use those decade-old failures to mentor the children of the old guard to give them “legitimacy.” If all else fails, they still have “the REAL child of [popular hero here]” to lean on and spam merchandise of.

And we're back! Previously, Cable and X-Force were interrogating the members of the new MLF they captured about where their leader Kali was hiding, when they suddenly had to deal with a surprise visit by Cyclops and Kid Omega who were there to confront Cable regarding him having created another black ops team without Cyclops knowing, along with having stolen the remains of the original MLF member Zero from Banshee’s evidence lockup. But Cable (or rather, the entity secretly possessing and controlling him) used his telepathy to quickly dispatch the visitors and handed over Zero’s remains to them, while Kamala was able to successfully convince one of the MLF members to reveal Kali’s location. Elsewhere, the amnesiac Domino survived her encounter with the anti-mutant locals and ended up on a boat taking her to Queens, where she was found by Shatterstar…

Oh right, Origin III was teased. Here's the full announcement:

>Logan, disassembled! This December, Wolverine will descend once more down a path that ends in tragedy, terror, and heartbreak in WOLVERINE: ORIGIN III – THE DARK AGE #1.

>Writer Paul Jenkins returns to the character after his groundbreaking work with artist Andy Kubert on 2001's Wolverine: Origin, which revealed the mysterious beginnings of Logan's life for the first time ever.

>To celebrate 25 years since the release of this seminal work, the never-before-told darkest period of Logan's history will finally be revealed by Jenkins and superstar artist CAFU in WOLVERINE: ORIGIN III – THE DARK AGE, a five issue limited series launching in December. The upcoming series tells a psychologically driven and harrowing tale that will delve deep into the way Logan's mind and memories work, exploring how a twisted experience in the 1950s created the man and mutant known today as Wolverine!

>Enter the Dark Age! After years of trauma and back-to-back tours of duty fighting in the first two World Wars, Logan has found his new mission… peace! With his berserker rage and violent tendencies somehow behind him, Logan enjoys a new life of tranquility and service. Logan will meet new friends and allies, and with the help of an impassioned young doctor, discover what makes him tick. But what is the cause of this newfound happiness…and how long can it last?
>>
>"Wolverine: Origin was foundational. It did not simply tell us how, why, and where a young, frail Canadian named James Howlett became the super hero we know as Wolverine, it also showed his loss of innocence and his understanding of a cruel and difficult world," explains Jenkins. "Now, after 25 years, I'm privileged to present this story I have waited over a quarter of a century to tell. Where did Logan go? Which parts of his story were lost to history? What led to the events of Weapon X? The answers are not going to be what you expect."

>"I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say this is the most important project I've worked on in my entire career,” CAFU shared. “Origin is one of my all-time favorite Wolverine stories, and I've loved Paul Jenkins' work since I was a teenager, so becoming a part of the continuation of that story and being able to tell a little more about Logan's past is a dream come true."

>Check out the main cover to WOLVERINE: ORIGIN III – THE DARK AGE by Wes Burt and a variant cover by Josemaria Casanovas and keep an eye out for more news and reveals surrounding Wolverine's Dark Age.
