So she cared enough about Jessie to name her daughter after her, but not enough to actually keep the doll?
>>
She cares about the character make sure to buy our product that falls apart by the time your kids are teens
>>

she regrets what she did like all other kids who didn't keep their toys or take care of them
>>
I read it less like she LOVED the doll specifically and more like the doll's mere presence stuck with her enough that the name "Jessie" became a favorite name of hers.

how cloying.

I do have to admit, I cried during the scene where Jessie the toy found out that Emily named her daughter after Jessie. I didn't see a husband though, so Emily most likely wound up as a single mother.

Kids do stupid things, parents steal toys all the time because they think they are always right. Emily still remembered all the fun times she had with Jessie and maybe has some of the comics or books or something. There are girls in real life who had good memories with Barbie and Ken and Bratz dolls, but their parents stole their toys to donate.

Do you really regret it? I mean sure the ben 10 watch i had was cool, old nerf guns, naruto toys, but am i supposed to feel sad over not having them as a 26 year old?

I'm 30. I still miss this fucking thing. my parents just knew I liked transformers and got me the biggest one didn't even know who he was until after I got the toy and played with it for years. Seems dumb right? but that sentiment means so much more now that I've put into perspective my divorced parents and 3 older siblings and they just wanted to make me smile and I'm just happy for the time we all have left together. alcoholism runs in the family and I drank and obliterated myself for a while but I'm trying to be a better person these days
>>
>>155116627
never too late to turn around, just don't quit cold turkey if you've been drinking really heavily for a long time. That's what killed my dad. taper off. have discipline. trust in your support network

and yes I miss those days too. how can you get anyone a gift anymore? everyone knows all the things that exist, and can buy them at a moment's notice, from anywhere.

There are stuffed animals I now wish I never throw away and feel bad having done so.
I’m male.

every movie after 2 has been dogshit

>>155115628
The character/franchise could still be special to her even if she didn't keep the merchandise

>>155115628
it's a retcon that doesn't make sense if you remember 2
>>155117868
that's unlikely and not implied to be the case in the movie

>>155116627

it makes me so fucking happy that I quit drinking 3 years ago
>>
Wow

>>155115628
You do realise that Jessica is a reasonably common name, especially for that time period. Could easily be coincidence.
>>
>>155116258
I like this take
>>
>>155115628
Are you stupid?
>>
>>155115628
Rather than clinging to a doll she like as a kid, she donated it to charity so other kids would enjoy it.
>>
>>155116557
I still have the two care worn and threadbare stuffed animals from when I was a child, one of them made by my aunt when I was a year old. Sometimes I take them down from the shelf and hug them. Sentimentality is weird.

I thought she got lost? It wasn't on purpose, just an accident.

I kinda miss my Zbots. I'd say my Pokémon cards as well but stuff like that just makes me think of my late sister and I can never deal with that.
