Amazing Spider-Man #1000 will release in one month. It's been almost 65 years, and this is probably the best and worst time to be a fan. Do you think that things will get better, or are his comics and almost everything surrounding Spider-Man cursed to become worse over time?

The ugly one or the generic one, which one do you prefer? Bravo Marvel
>>
>>155118961
I'll pick Spider-man back up when they just nut up, pull the bandaid off and do a real full fledged reboot like they pretended they were doing with Ultimate spider-man before dropping it. I don't want an eternal manboy peter, but if that's the angle just make him credibly the age you want to present.
>>
>>155119075
it is generic, but it is leagues better.
the cover in the op looks like he's taking a shit in the most uncomfortable way possible.
>>
I liked the first arc of Kelly's run. Peter getting his life back together and getting to be a scientist, classic villain shenanigans with Hobgoblin, Peter getting to be a real threat in fights as he still whallops multiple baddies while drugged out of his mind, Larraz on art. Then it all fell apart with the return of gang bullshit and the job going to shit because he got sent to space.
>>
>>155119168
Writers don't understand that his stories don't need cosmic and magic shit

I legitimately cannot believe this is a cover for this kind of comic. It's fucking insane. It's like they can't even pretend to care any more. Covers are supposed to be the one thing still ruled by crass, commercial practices and they can't even fucking do that right, apparently.
>>
>>155119902
Relax, you bullied an old man so well they replaced it as the main character
>>
>>155119943
Bullied an old man? Nigga JRJR doesn't care. Look at the fucking cover. He didn't care enough to say "no this is a bad idea." He fucking sandbagged because he knows Marvel is a soulless corporation now, not even willing to entertain children, instead seeking to fleece them and the mentally ill people who buy their books.
>>
>>155118961
>this is probably the best and worst time to be a fan
the “best time”? Why? What exactly are you getting that it is the best time? The mediocre MCU movies?
>>
>>155118961
HAAH WAAW
>>
>>155119075
We need more of the covers that relate to the story. The "iconic" covers aren't all that exciting anymore, they're uninspired and repetitive.
>>
>>155120136
Yeah. Everyone is saying that he's absolutely the most popular fictional character of all time. So whatever, I'll take it. 2 billion from a movie that feels like a random Marvel team Up storyline. The success of the movie, Tokon, and Rivals revived the interest in Spider-Man and comics. Take advantage of this and recommend your favorite runs to anyone interested

>Amazing Spider-Man #1000 will release in one month.
It honestly doesn't feel real. It's almost impressive how little hype there is
>>
>>155119698
Ironically, only the cosmic and ESPECIALLY magic writers seem to understand that.
>>
Anniversary issues are a scam. Nothing of any great significance happens in them it's always just a mish mash of stories, you've got the "good job, hero" story with all the other universe characters congratulating him, the inevitable short about the hero's origin from the perspective of someone in the crowd, the villains all gathering to talk about how they'd beat up the hero, and the one set in the real world talking about how much Spider-man means to them.
They're all literally the same.
>>
>>155119075
Nigger, I'd take this cover over >>155118961 this shit any day.
>>
>>155121032
Good for you but I never said that I preferred the one on the OP. Both look like shit
>>
>>155121019
slop-brained logic
>>
>>155121286
He's not wrong. This is going to be some vacuous self congratulatory bullshit. Expect the recent DC Crossover again. Just mindless pages that can be taken out and posted online to show how much you love and GET the character
>>
>>155121019
The point isn't to be a big shocking story issue. Hell, remember the big shocking #700 anniversary issue? Fucking FUCK that.

The point of it is supposed to be a celebration. Going over the good moments, showing some grief over the sad points, but just generally being a "look at us, huh? Who'd've thought?"

But Spider-Man can't fucking do that cause it's fucking nothing but shit nowadays. And all of that old stuff worth celebrating? They fucking shat all over that on purpose too. What does the Spider-Man office have to fucking celebrate this year, huh?

There's nothing wrong with vacuous self congratulatory bullshit if there's actual good vibes to capitalize on.
>>
>>155121350
I just can't think of much in the past 25ish years that's really as memorable as the pre 2000s. It's not all bad. I'm not someone who thinks it's all shit. But it's never great.
>>
>>155118961
The IP? In a great place overall.
Movie makes a billion, largely well received because it ignores so much of its spiteful source materials message to its betterment.
Vidya games whilst having a misstep with Insomnia, show the character beloved and what actually crosses the cultural osmosis in Rivals and Tokon - MJ and Peter are together and Peter is a veteran Superhero highly respected in the Superhero community. This is what Joe Public thinks of Spider-Man.

Comics.
Where do we even start? Where do we even fucking start?
Perhaps just jump to where we are, we are having a long-lost secret cousin who is definitely not evil to b8 Aunt Mays love and life with a memory replacing plot to reset our reset. Because Aunt May is the only one left in the cast they have not killed off, written off or character assassinated. Her irrelevance leaves her the last one standing, and even death would just leave the audience rolling their eyes and setting their watches.

Get the BND gnarled Oldheads and their idiot mandate out and treat their regressive beliefs like the cancer it is. Only then might Spider-Man's original medium be worthwhile beyond bile fascination again.

Paul Rabin WILL return in Amazing Spider-Man #1000.
>>
>>155121513
I unironically want it.
We can't speak ill of the dead, and I want MJ to finally rub the two brain cells they ration her with these days and realize that no Paul never had anything in common in Peter and she's been horribly manipulated all this time.
They won't though, because so long as Lowe is in power he does not want to be the one responsible for Avengers #200 the sequel.
He fucking is though.
>>
>>155121489
Movies and games: Aunt May has tragically died, but Peter has become a stronger and wiser person for it.
Comics: Aunt May is all Peter really has left, and he might as well be dead without her.

Paul WILL reclaim the powers that were stolen by Peter.
>>
>>155121554
Insomnia to their credit slapped OMD in the face.
MCU to its credit gave actual gravitas and consequences to Peters amnesia decision, and under far more understandable circumstances than OMD and OMIT.
They did play off the outcome with a party and a snide joke with Peter free as a bird snogging randoms at a party. He like the audience is mourning the loss and devastated. The message goes against everything BND the writing cabal thought the young people want.
Adaptations are just generally better than the comics when it comes to Spider-Man. Because modern Spider-Man is atrociously written and needs several script doctors to be serviceable to the masses.

Paul is a multiversal constant, all Pauls across reality are just extensions of the One Above Paul.
>>
>>155121589
No, and that's apparently what he likes about 616.
Has he considered a guy who by his exploitation of the mentally ill kills everyone, should probably go live as a hermit atoning on a mountain for the rest of his life?

I just keep getting flummoxed by this character they invented. They couldn't just let him be Joe Chalk the calm and steady man? That would be actual understandable drama, since post OMD MJ she hasn't got the spine for Superheroics anymore (except when she does and works for Stark but ah they don't care). It had to be a guy party to a planet getting killed with the personality type classic MJ wouldn't have looked twice at, so you stockholmed her for years and claimed her spirit broke?
>>
>>155121629
I still can't believe that Paul is real. He's so funny, a Mary Sue so stupid and annoying that you would think that he originated from a fanfiction written by a virgin named Paul Goldberg that loves redheads and hates Spider-Man
>>
>>155121683
He's apparently the man Zeb Wells projected as the reason his marriage failed. Even though his ex-wife said no there was no third party it just didn't work.
Healthy attitude to bring onto an ongoing and write a romance for. Thank you Lowe.

So he was just gaslighting himself, and because of this travesty we now have ntr schizos and even worse comics. Man what's wrong with comic book writers? They never grew up

Well Gwenschizo actually believed it, but hey, it was just another crazy waifufag. Kind of endearing, and could even be funny.

At this point you're a chihuahua. Now you can do three things. Stop replying, keep the good old Paulposting, or break character again and Nikocado style explaining how you're actually an alpha mastermind. It doesn't matters, now I think that it's funny.
