Bernthal’s punisher is constantly screaming like an animal, his anger actively bursting out of him as he unleashes his rage on criminals.While Thomas Jane’s punisher is less overtly brutal (guessing part of keeping th age rating down) he still just casualty kills criminals in various ways. Except he doesn’t even react or flinch over it. For him it’s no different than turning off a light.I much prefer that kind of punisher, where yes he is divine by rage and purpose but his actual demeanour most of the time is stoic and unemotional. Frank Castle is dead and the punisher is just what’s left puppeting his body to wage his never ending war I also felt the 2004 film just nailed a fairly good balance between elevated comic book reality where a superhuman Russian can punch through walls, but it’s still just a guy you can shoot and kill.punisher can occasionally make quips etc.Whereas Punisher Warzone felt weirdly both super grim and super comical. And Bernthal’s punisher weirdly only ever resonated with me in daredevil season 2.Him in his own show was trash. His recent mini movie thjng was trash.I haven’t seen Spider-Man brand new day yet so maybe Bernthal’s punisher has much improved though

2004 was an excellent movie. Unfortunately, it’s not a good adaptation. The revenge plot was good, but Castle wouldn’t do that. Sounds more like something a woman would do. (Lifetime channel type of stuff). I’m thinking he goes after both Saint and the Toro brothers. Make it so they have an army so we can see the kills from the comics.
