Usually the Red and Gold suits weren't power armor; the helmet, carapace, gauntlets and boots are solid, and everything else is essentially super light, super tough chain mail. It hasn't been a bunch of places since the original Gold Armor.

Iron Man should sometimes be bulky. And incorporate Marvel-style Kirby sci-fi guns that fire huge lasers. If he's bulky then you feel the heavy metal madness that Iron man is. He is a guy who is hefty yet agile.
