Do X-men fans like it when characters stack new powers on top of their normal mutant abilities? Doesn't that detract from the thematic significance of being a mutant?

>thinking x-men readers give a shit about themes outside of constant sex and shipping wars

To be quite honest with you OP. I don't really care as long as its a good story.

When was the last time it made for a good story? Pheonix? Archangel?

Never

You are not a bickering nerd, strange

Being a mutant shouldn't be your only thing. At least you should train your body so you can fight effectively when your powers are disabled or malfunctioning.

What's the point in bickering? No one will change their mind on a topic.

So I... kind of like it. I liked the venom symbiote on Scorpion as a temporary thing, since we know he picks up powers when he bonds with people, so he should have kept scorpion powers when he went back to Eddie. I liked uhh shit what else did I like... existing powered heroes becoming lanterns, kind of... yknow.. it's neat sometimes. It's particularly neat when it's very asymmetrical, either an already powerful guy getting a very small boost, or a guy with a piddlin' power finally getting something better, like- OH, like Rogue! Rogue's power is just absorbing, no big whoop, but then when she permanently absorbed Ms. Marvel, that was a neat add-on. or Phoenix, I guess.

>Beast is only blue and furry because of genetic experimentation that completely altered his physiology
>Rogue stealing Carol's powers on top of her mutant powers. Being a flying brick is pretty much essential to her whole thing now
>Magik's mystical abilities and Soulsword are way more prominent than her teleportation powers
>Dani Moonstar is more known as a Valkyrie than as a third string psychic

Hell even Wolverine's claws weren't originally an actual mutant power, they were glove weapons. Adn then they got retconned into surgically implanted
And then came the bone claws

>their normal mutant abilities
Mutants aren't normal @sentinel apprehend OP
