Tom Kenny and Jim Cummings gave a lot of life to these guys.Nickelodeon is still retarded for betting ALL of their chips onto this show. I think the writers who were stuck making episodes wanted to vent out their frustrations by making CatDog as miserable as humanly possible because the “mean-spiritedness” that gave the show it’s notoriety ramps up around Season 2, specifically the episode where CatDog move out of town because they got sick of getting bullied by everybody.

People always talk about how mean the show’s characters are but I don’t see nearly as many people criticizing how grimy and uninspired their world is.Catdog’s house is creative with its split design, but the entire rest of Nearburg is a depressingly disgusting location with absolutely no memorable locations, interesting landmarks, or “fun” in general. It’s such an incredibly bland setting.

However, it ended up being script driven due to Nick's high demands of wanting to get as many episodes as possible. It was ordered 40 episodes to start out with so uh...yeah.
