Who should be Miles' mentor in film?
>>155140073He’s never going to get a movie; Disney is stupid, but they’ve already learned their lesson.
>>155140073A convicted sex offender called Noodles.
>>155140073A Spider-woman ideally like in the first run. There's no good male mentor that isn't just Peter and at that point you're sabotaging the premise.
>>155140073His Uncle Aaron. Making him more morally grey would actually differentiate him from Peter in some way
>>155141018Like kaine?
>>155140073Tom Holland. Do the bit about Peter becoming a high school teacher. It gives him closure while keeping him alive and in a natural position to be Miles' mentor.>>155140104He's already had two wildly successful animated movies with a third on the way, Anon.
>>155141081Yeah, but more focused on social issues which Miles already kind of leans towards. And I’m assuming Kaine isn’t making it to film anytime soon
>>155141182>social issuesDon't really exist in the USIt's people with comfortable privileged lives putting sticks in the spokes of their own bicycles and getting mad at other people for it
>>155141099Peter Parker had a successful movie, Miguel had a successful movieMiles consistently has the show stolen from him by every other character on screen
>>155141274If you seriously think Peter. B. Parker was the star of ITSV you're crazy. It was Peni. But Miles was a close second.
They could do something fun and have the animated Spiderverse's Miles just be canonical in the MCU universe. MCU Tom Holland and Spiderverse Miles having a buddycop film would be fun. Translating a uniquely-styled animated character to liveaction would be problematic so they'd never even attempt it, but that would still be fun.
>>155141099Sony did not even started its final movie until now
>>155141343I still think they're cowards for not Roger Rabbiting Miles into No Way Home.
>>155141320The moral of the story wasn't "I gotta do mah own thaaang" the moral of the story is when you get hit you need to get back upPeter B was the main character the same way Barbosa is the main character of pirates even though the story follows Jack sparrow
>>155141501The moral of the story was Miles running from responsibility because he had a preconceived notion of what he "should" be and it terrified him. Like, look at Miles here. He has spider powers, so he thinks he has to be Spider-Man the same way the previous Spider-Man was. He's wearing a cheap imitation of a costume that doesn't fit him, but is what he thinks he needs to be.Yes, resiliency is part of the story. That's what Peter, Peni, Noir, and Ham are all trying to tell him. They're all Spider-Men. They're all heroes. They're also all drastically different. Miles needed to not just embrace responsibility that scared him, but also to grow into his own person rather than a cheap imitation of someone else.
>>155141592Miles only practical addition to the franchise is he’s the one that locked peters story from being >a hero who never gives up no matter whatTo>a hero whose never enough
Miles isn't really even a spider-guy anymore, he's only tangentially relatedThe baseline invisibility and electric shocks were already pushing it but now that he can basically just fly, create hard light construct, and fire anime tier energy waves there's nothing spidery about him, he's an electricity hero with web shooters
>>155141694I legit don't know what you mean. Explain.
>>155141099>He's already had two wildly successful animated movies with a third on the way, Anon.
>>155143057
>>155143057>>155143080Yeah you're not disproving my point here.
>>155141820>black>becomes electricity "hero"Whoa . . .
>>155143057>>155143080Anon i was pretty sure the pop up of these threads was made in response to the news that films are mega successful seen here.
>>155143901That's just the US. How about global?
>>155143467Cope harder, Milesfag.
>>155144093That's not the US and is thus irrelevant
>>155144113>domesticfag's here
>>155144122Oh look, the EUROPEAN has opinions
>Profitable in theaters >Profitable in streaming >Profitable with his one game (you can go check the game's Wikipedia page and see it generated $270+ million net profit on a budget of $80 million budget so don't go "um ackualy" about that factI smell the one billie for Beyond next year
>>155140073There's no point in doing Miles in the films. Home trilogy is basically Miles already.Ned and MJ = Ganke and Barbara. He gets mentored by an older hero along the way, and gets gear from SHIELD. He fights a bunch of villains he inherits from an older Peter Parker and in the end one of them kills his mom.
>>155140073He shouldn't even be in film, but if you must, his mentor is Skip Westcott, Miles is 100% into it.
>>155144485Turns out people let their kids watch cartoons on iPads
>>155144485Smells like victory
>>155144577I thought we didn't want Miles to use Peter villains?
>>155144722We want miles to go away back to his own universe
>>155144553Yeah the Miles 'trilogy' Disney hopes for is going to be superfluous unless they really are going to be doing something unique with the character, in short doing the exact opposite of the comics which is working out pretty well for them at this point.
>>155140073>Miles still swinging in Manhattan even though Marvel is relocating to BurbankEvil enough. Make Sacha Noam Baron Cohen the mentor.
>>155140073Iron Man
>>155144848Not sure what else they can do. Really. No point in mining the Spider-Verse or using the Prowler after the Sony cartoons. No point in doing a Champions style teen team -- they already introduced Ms. Marvel and Ironheart and they'll be some 15 years older than whoever gets cast as Miles. The best thing I can think of is a take on the All-New Ultimates. Recast Cloak and Dagger. Use one of the X-Men. Introduce Bombshell.
>>155144485Global?
>>155145373Aw now I feel sad we'll never get the Miles/Kamala/Sam love triangle in the MCU.I guess they could introduce a teenage Moon Girl or something.
>>155145373>Bombshell sounds like she should be really popular, but seems to have disappeared in the comics.I was aiming for you.
Tom will never get his own Gwen because she's now reserved for Miles' BBC
>>155146560Screw Gwen. Not sexually, in a "do not use or reference" way.
>>155140246W-why Noodles... ?
>>155143901>Just names the fictional character instead of his voice actorGrim
>>155144485Cope lmao
Miles should be Peter's mentor.
>>155141592Miles will never be Spider-Man. The second they drop a different name on him, the fans will forget he exists.
