Previously, with the arrival of the Serpent and his hammers which had fallen to Earth, the population was in a panic. Steve Rogers decided to reactivate the Initiative as a temporary peacekeeping force to deal with the problems that the major heroes were unable to at this time and placed former Slinger member Prodigy in charge. But things were still going badly.During a riot in Atlanta, a bullet deflected by Thor Girl struck and killed a cop and she was forced to turn herself in though was later busted out by Cloud 9 who was outraged about what had happened to her. In New Jersey, Gravity decided to call it quits, having no faith in his leadership or being a hero after a fight with Crossbones seriously injured Geiger, even with Prodigy begging him to come back. In Nevada, the various heroes were attempting to evacuate citizens and try and stop Juggernaut, who had been transformed by one of the hammers into the Serpent's minion Kuurth. But despite Hardball using as much of his power as he could, Kuurth continued on to San Francisco and all they really had to show for it was a half-levelled Las Vegas and dead civilians who chose not to or couldn't escape.Today is Fear Itself: Youth in Revolt #4-6.Previous >>155116252
You know, for a character who basically got derailed early on and has appeared sporadicaly, Gravity actually does have a pretty logical and consistent character arc so I guess props for McKeever for managing to tie all of it together in a way that makes sense.
Issue 5
It's Gargantos now, Frog-Man. Mouse lawyers are very clear on this.
Issue 6
He inuk chuks. Of course the Indian inuk chuks.
That's the last we'll ever see of Thor Girl, at least so far. She hasn't shown up in anything over the last 15 years.
At least Hardball got his lizard waifu back.
That finishes off the last of these miniseries and what would be McKeever's last big two work barring a few Infinity comics in the last few years. But we're sticking with Fear Itself because next time it's the first half of that story arc for the Academy kids in Avengers Academy #15-17.
>>155142235I like that she has stayed gone, some characters can just end
>>155142470The thing is that it seems like they were transitioning her to a cosmic role but then Bendis took over cosmic and it's been a mess ever since.

>>155141673I feel bad for Gravity. This is a pretty kitschy thing to say, but he really does feel like a DC character plopped into Marvel. He's got the wide-eyed idealism befitting a much kinder universe but he's trapped not only in world-outside-your-window Marvel, but arguably the worst fucking time in its history to be a wide-eyed idealist. He'd have to face the reality of it eventually no matter where he was, but to see him morally and ethically beat down to the degree where this seems like a reasonable response. It's just brutal, man. Great writing from McKeever, but brutal all the same.
>>155146777The thing is if he was in 2000s/pre-reboot DC he would have arguably been worse. Just look at half of the Titans. Look at how Mary Marvel spent the last few years of the pre-reboot universe being corrupted into being evil. I'd definitely like to see Gravity come back and get some shine but it really seems like nobody other than McKeever ever had interest in him. But then he's not really different from a lot of younger characters from this era either.
>>155141611>HOLY ####! Laziest attempt at dialogue censorship I've seen in a comic.
