Is there a more undeserved and cruel death scene? We never even get the resolution because Flashpoint cut off the Brightest Day series
>>155148965I know everyone was glazing GL back in the day, but Blackest Night is one of the franchise's lowest points. Trying to ape Marvel Zombies without the humor, with the intended shock value of classic characters being evil or evil-er diluted because the zomb-black lanterns act and look nothing like their original counterparts.
>>155148965Yeah it felt cruel for the sake of it.
>>155148995Anon it wasn't supposed to be literally the characters as an evil zombie. It was the ring puppeting corpses to try and get emotional reactions
>>155149143And how you accomplish that more efficiently if the corpses neither look nor act like their living counterparts, which is the point of having those specific corpses in the first place?
>>155149160To elicit an emotional reaction. It can be love or hope and then when they are acting like the ring puppeting the body that love and hope turns to fear and anger
>>155148995>Trying to ape Marvel Zombies without the humorWhat are you talking about, Blackest Night had plenty of funny moments. Like the Wonder Woman cover where zombie Max Lord is snapping Diana’s neck.
>>155148995Blackest Night was fine as an event. It was Brightest Day that was bad. Or boring. It felt directionless.
>>155149203It probably would have been better if the universe wasn't rebooted a bit after.
>>155148965No, that one from blackest night is really brutal.
>>155149211It was a slog even before that.
>>155149504And even before that. As this >>155148995 points out, BN was just edge for the sake of edge.
