Previously, the teachers at the Avengers Academy decided to hold a dance inviting a lot of the various younger heroes such as those who had been part of the Initiative as well as the Young Allies. There were some issues such as Hardball getting pissy when Komodo started hitting on Reptil or a blow up between Justice and Firestar over Justice having slept with Ultragirl but in the end everyone came together and had fun as well as Reptil managing to return back to his normal age. The Academy kids, along with Tigra, later went to help free a laboratory in Paris from Electro, Reptil feeling like they were ready after dealing with Korvac, only to find out it wasn't just him but Doctor Octopus and the Sinister Six. It turns out they weren't ready and the kids were thoroughly beaten. They also decided to look into others who went through similar experiences during Osborn's reign and found Jeremy Briggs, a teenage billionaire who ran a large company. Briggs impressed upon them the idea that the hero/villain dynamic was pointless and helping no one compared to his own endeavors but it was revealed that the things he'd shown them were all set up beforehand. The Academy kids turned down his offer to join him and in the ensuing fight he showed that his chemical manipulation abilities far exceeded anything they could do. They left but he claimed the offer to join was still open.Today is Avengers Academy #15-17.Previous >>155141499

>>155155186There’s something about seeing those spandex heroes fighting or working side by side with the police, the military, or rescue services like firefighters and paramedics that just feels... good?I mean, sure, the weapons used by cops and the military might not be all that effective, if they work at all, but it’s nice to see humans stepping up and trying to do something instead of just endlessly relying on whatever crazy superpowered asshole happens to be around.
