>>155198047Janet has technically not really been around for scorched earth Ivy, since the most recent time (at the start of her solo when she was just going to mail anthrax to the whole world) was when Janet saw her on the comedown from a swing rather than the ramp up and Ivy was nice enough to save her (for selfish reasons). The time before that was like Fear state and localized to Gotham and the time before that was her dosing the entire world to force everyone to chill out instead of "fuck you, I'm gonna mercy kill everyone in this shithole."Janet's entire character arc has been being sort of swept up in Ivy's grandeur, as pointed out in this chapter, so it's not out of character that she doesn't think Ivy is capable of just murdering an entire large city. I guess in her defense, this has been mostly true. She often decides she's going to enact mass genocide or whatever only to then not actually be able to go through with it or get talked down.

I'm not saying that Ivy's character can't be explored in different ways, but her being the Mayor of Gotham who then doing fucking No Man's Land Again But With Plants while someone looks surprised is just kind of lame.
