Give me examples of cartoons that are ACTUALLY forgot and ACTUALLY underrated.

No more "invader zim is forgotten and underrated", everyone knows about that shit.

Is Storm Hawks too well-known for your semantics?

It qualifies for "forgotten" but does it qualify as "underrated"?
>>
>>155207338
This was a really good show. First time I think kid me ever saw a villain that was depicted as genuinely unbeatable and inevitable, it was kind of shocking that literally nothing could be done to it, and there was no explanation of what it was, where it came from, and it never communicates directly. Even the ending is just escaping from it, it's still doing its thing elsewhere in the universe.

I remember Shadow Raiders War Planets, even got one of the toys.
I guess it could be argued it's underrated, but characters like that fire prince are the sort of thing that makes it unlikely to sail with modern audiences.
>>
>>155209370
People bring up Inhumanoids' initial miniseries a lot for all the horror stuff
Nobody really acknowledges it kind of just becomes a typical Sunbow show after that
Metlar literally marries the Statue of Liberty
It's still fun but honestly I think Visionaries is the most underrated of the Hasbro Sunbow shows
Really solid animation by TMS and character dynamics that I honestly think would have gotten worse had they introduced more Knights for a Season 2
>>
>>155207357
Storm Hawks is underrated but never forgotten (not by those who saw it)
>>
>>155209440
Come on, he doesn’t even have an exaggerated accent and is a pretty cool guy all around.
>>
>>155207338
This looks like a scene from Reboot where they are all formated to fit some alien game
>>

>TMS
Goddam it the thread is now ruined!
>>
>>155209398
The toys gave an origin for the Beast Planet. It began as a computer chip millions of years ago on some alien civilization and it absorbed everything around it, eventually consuming the planet and other planets
>>
>>
>>155209487
There were episodes of this I enjoyed, but I'm not sure I'd call it underrated.
>>
>>155209472
Given how the show was different from the toys I assume that the Beast Planet’s origin in the show is something more Lovecraftian given his overall presentation
>>
Skysurfer Strike Force, I found it on some youtube Saturday morning cartoon compilation. It's pretty generic but in motion it does look pretty cool, like the also semi-forgotten (but I think more remembered) Mummies Alive it feels like they were taking influence from Japanese shows with transforming/armored heroes including the same sort of cinematography, if not as well executed.

Hardcore. Not that it's surprising coming from Mainframe, they were pushing boundaries throughout their 90s shoes

I got you, OP.

Nobody ever brings it up, but this show genuinely had an interesting premise and had a lot going for it character wise and setting wise. Go on, find someone else who knows about it, even though it got a full ass 65 episodes!

It was CINAR and France Animation, so I think they were doing more like, Moebius and other French similars, but in 1996, it's hard to imagine there wasn't some influence from Monkey Punch, neverminding the same source material. Nobody gave a fuck about this so there's not much information.

Did anyone else watch The Magician? I think I saw it on Fox Kids? I liked the premise of a stage magician gaslighting as a superhero with real magic.
>>
I'm gonna say Silver Hawks, Hero High, and Ghostbusters (Filmation).
SH tends to be remembered once in a while, but gets overshadowed by Thundercats; Hero High I'm sure only a handful here remember it, but it was a fun show I watched as a kid; and GB was, well, really not as bad as people claim it it. It had good villains and a few stories were entertaining enough.

Klutter

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Toxic Crusaders
Bucky O'Hare
Peter Pan & the Pirates
The Mighty Hercules
Rocket Robin Hood
The Bots Master
Mighty Max
Creeply Crawlies
BattleTech TAS
Exosquad

Mutant League
Skeleton Warriors
WildC.A.T.s

I still to this day wrack my brain over how they could have destroyed the Beast Planet had the series been allowed to finish. They tried everything imaginable. Their greatest weapons could not scratch it. They used planet fire to suicide ram the claw and break it. Didn't work. Rigged a planet to blow up inside of it where it would have been most vulnerable. Not a scratch on it. Could not outrun it. It emerging from the inside of a star showed not even that would hurt it either. The only thing I could think of would maybe be a black hole, but even then it might not be enough.
>>
>>155212117
Absolutely correct, at least he did something slightly heroic in his final moments.
>>
>>155212606
Ultimately I think it's best the series ended at S2, there's enough of a conclusion for all the characters that it doesn't feel like it just stopped, the heroes are finally safe, the recurring villain is dead, and the final scene of the Beast still going somewhere else in the galaxy is a more unique and eerie end note.
>>
>>155209809
I liked it.
>>
>>155211692
You can blame Disney. They own the vast majority of the Fox Kids library and have basically done nothing with any of it beyond the Marvel toons since Jetix died.
>>
>no HD release
>>
>>155212619
It's not really a happy ending, since all the worlds that the beast consumes is on their heads for sending to their direction. The one person who seemed like she would have had a solution for destroying the Beast Planet would have been Tekla. But she seemed to be forgotten about entirely by the time the second season was made.
>>
>>155212675
I have seen HD remasters for a few episodes on youtube. But this show never had a complete DVD release. It would be nice if the fans of ReBoot and Beast Wars could try to shake the dust off this, and make something. happen

I liked this as a kid but appreciate it much more now. The character design is cool, the villains are cool, the art is detailed and animation is good. Villains are fun characters like a fat chicago gangster, a himbo, a muscle woman, a mad scientist with an exposed brain in a glass dome, a rich girl who goes jewel thief for the thrill and falls in love with one of the heroes, a pallid corpse-looking guy in a fedora who has machine guns pop out of his cybernetic torso, etc. Oh and one of the heroes has a pet robot dog.

Terrible Thunderlizards was about a squad of 3 heavily armed dinosaurs who were tasked with destroying the first 2 humans due to a belief that they would bring about doom for dinosaur society if they multiplied. Humorously they are both male and are a classic odd couple with the cheerful optimistic one accidentally tormenting the other with his inventions. The dinosaurs always fail to catch the humans despite their firepower. Typically the dynamic of the dinosaurs chasing the humans resolves with both encountering the Thuggosaurs, a 'greater evil' who are basically a cult of skeletal undead hooded dinosaurs.

Imho this is the best episode, the dinosaurs introduce the first female human, a bioengineered female called the B.A.B.S unit to seduce and capture the humans. Peak waifu, some sexist jokes, and the irony of the fact that the dinosaurs probably accidentally destroyed themselves by making humans able to breed.

Ultraforce was more an edgier JL/Avengers.
Prime's Venom + Captain Marvel, Prototype's Warmachine, Hardcase is a more put together Wonder Man minus an ionic form, Ghoul is Dead Man, Topaz is more like Zealot than Wonder Woman but I'm not sure if they knew that when they made her angry Interdimensional Wonder Woman, Contrary is Charles + Emma, and Pixx's powers are nothing like Kitty or Jubilee but she's clearly the team's baby sister.

If it weren't for extremely damning charges and poor business decisions Malibu and the Ultraverse might have actually cooked a bit more before Marvel bought and filed it away.
