Seeing the licks in the Umbra, Matilda being forced into a ritual in her backstory, and her infiltrating the Chapter house were far more interesting since we as an audience would like to have more things revealed in the story, not the romance. So that is a point in your favor, but it still doesn't sit right with me. If she did it then her actions show too eclectic a mix of long-term planning and total lack of forethought, of cold planning and hot passions.
