A thread to post and discuss characters we've been interested in reading.
For me? Captain Britain.

Nobody reads comics..

I love Moore's run. One of my favorite Marvel comics.
I read the Thorpe/Moore/Delano/Davis Marvel UK run (in the original colors) and should be jumping into Excalibur at some point.

Thank you for the suggestion anon. I'm currently reading that run where Frank got a hold of a War Machine suit

Everything from 1976-86 is all at least worth a once through, super underrated character. After that it definitely becomes more of a taste issue with how weird it gets. Then you have Excalibur which is more than weird, but a turns to a real love it or hate it thing.

Not even you?

Dr Strange and Moon Knight.

Just read the Moore stuff, and even then you're reading it for the fury and jaspers. Not a great character desu and I'm a brit.

>I'm a brit

Read the omnibus last year. The original run is pretty shit, I guess read some of the early issues just to see characters get introduced but otherwise you can just jump to the Marvel Team-Up issue with him and the Black Knight strips that follow on from that
The Black Knight strips into the Thorpe/Moore/Davis run were great, and the original run of Excalibur was too

Wasn't Captain Britain something like a "proto-spiderverse"?
>>
>>155223283
currently reading every single reverse flash story because i find the character cool and am working a project heavily based on him (also an allusion to the jerk off meme is present in his very first appearance lmao)
>>
>>155223283
I'm curious about Captain Britain's relationship with the X-Men. I know he was part of Excalibur, but he's had a close relationship with them for a long time. With even Psylocke taking up the mantle for a while.

Betsy got folded into the X-Men because she was ostensibly Claremont's character and he wanted to keep writing her. Brian didn't have anything to do with the team until Excalibur, and for the most part that book was just Captain Britain with some token X-Men around for the sales bump.
Betsy's been Captain Britain twice. The first was because Brian wouldn't cooperate with the government so they convinced her to be the government approved Captain Britain (until she nearly died and Brian had to bail her out). The second was modern writers being hacks and tearing down everything about Captain Britain in relation to Brian and making the entire thing about Betsy. Unfortunately this has yet to be reversed

You've a weak stomach, then.

Their team-up is great, would recommend
>>
>>155226779
Yeah. The Captain Britain Corps.
>>

>Unfortunately this has yet to be reversed
might be reversed in that post-Armageddon X-Men book
>>
>>155225621
No
>>
>>155225859
Is that why he is shit
>>
>>155228982
He's great despite being British.
>>
>>155229108
Overrated in my opinion.
>>
>>155229118
I think he's underrated these days.
>>
>>155223283
Henry Cavill should play him
>>
>>155229570
He's too old.
>>
>>155224137
how does it make you feel that it's nowadays part of x-men lore?
>>
>>155230281
Nah
>>
>>155223283
What are some other interesting Marvel characters to read about that you don't really see a lot of
>>
>>155231399
Man-Thing
>>
>>155232671
Swamp Thing ripoff?
>>
>>155232687
More like, the character that first appeared one month before Swamp Thing, and that had his subversive run in the 70s, not in the 80s
>>
>>155233184
hmmmmmm
>>
>>155223283
I've been digging Nova as of late
>>
>>155231399
Sleepwalker
>>
Does Marvel's Dracula have any single runs
>>
>>155233400
Tomb of Dracula was an ongoing throughout the 70s yes
>>
>>155230311
He always had X-Men in his DNA, by way of Claremont, and Moore's run is a rehash of Days of Future Past (a better version, in my opinion).
I don't really follow X-Men anyway.
>>
>>155233286
never heard of that one
>>
>>155223283
Doesn't his powers come from the suit though?
>>
>>155236672
I think so.
>>
>>155230311
Every attempt to bring back the Fury has been shit and cheapened the original story
>>
>>155233567
Oh cool!
>>
>>155239176
I also recommend it. The Wolfman and Frankenstein books were good too.
>>
>>155224137
Very much appreciated. I have no idea what I'm going into but I love his design.
>>
>>155229570
Isn't he bogged now?
>>
>>155240804
youre thinking of jim carrey
>>
>>155240804
Nah Henry is in great shape and looks better than most of the celebs in their 20s
