It's easy to give it for granted being a gen z who grew up with the movies, but Nightmare before Christmas and Corpse Bride are a massive pillar of western animation culture. Their chokehold over modern gothic aesthetic can't be overstated. Take just those two movies out of the picture and nothing else comes even close in terms of influence and reach when it comes to animation

the ceo of hot topic circa 2007

But the movie came out in 90s.

The anon you're replying to was born in 2008, which would make him old enough to post here

Does this movie still hold up, ir is it another movie riding a wave of nostalgia.
.
I personally still like it.
>>

But did it get significant mech before the hot topic era?
>>
>>
>>155234889
Yeah, it was a cult classic for years before that stupid shit.

I can't believe pretty much the entire cast is gone.

I feel like it blew up when it was included as a level in Kingdom Hearts. Almost a decade old at that point.

Hah Sally had a lot more sex appeal in her preliminary designs. Super short black and white striped dress with an hourglass figure and blatant cleavage.

Nightmare Before Christmas? Yes.

That other one you mentioned? Not so much

Corpse Bride was great
>>
>>155239282
It was ok but not on the same level as TNBC
>>
>>155239282
It would have been great if Emily won.

That was GiR. But Nightmare was certainly on the board, along with Emily the Strange Girl and Happy Bunny.
>>
>>155234437
It's good.

Getting an idea for a story where she steals the tits of a sex offender and ends up with the nigh-uncontrollable urge to molest.
>>
>>155239282
It was well over a decade later, it had nothing to do with establishing goth aesthetic.
>>
>>155239282
It's enjoyable, but it simply did not leave the same cultural impact that Nightmare Before Christmas did.
