>>155235995Robocop was inspired in part by Iron Man( and Judge Dredd), but despite the initial plan to make him able to move like a ninja the suit just couldn’t pull it off. Conversely Hulk was the breakout Marvel hero because you could mostly pull off the visual and concept in a TV show with just a body builder. It didnt work for Spider-man or Captain America or Thor or the FF or X-men or Namor with limited SFX. Punisher could’ve worked if they had more faith in him.

It just felt like for a while in the early 2000s there was a lot of people who knew War Machine more than Iron Man. War Machine Avatars and Signatures and stuff. It pisses me off that they chickened out and didn't do Demon in a Bottle for the second movie. RDJ brought a lot of addict knowledge to his small part in A Scanner Darkly, I feel like he could have made an actually really interesting movie version of that story, and maybe it would have made that character a lot less stupid and shitty going further into the MCU.
Iron Man was always a cool concept. He's like Batman in an iron suit.
