Right, so given I was suggested to do this, I thought I’d give it a shot.

I do *not* get the way this fandom, Lute fans in particular, try to paint Lute as this “poor, put upon nobody” in “Storyteller”. That, for some inexplicable reason, everyone’s just picking on her.

I really do not get it, no matter how many people have argued this to me. Every time, it comes across as them trying to rewrite the characters in the episode to fit a narrative.

Like, we all know the *actual reason* Lute isn’t liked in Heaven, right? Heads up: it’s not because everyone else is a jerk, and it’s got nothing to do with her being Eve (if the theory is true, in all likelihood, Sera is the only one who’d know in that court scene, but even then I’ll get to her).

It’s because she’s a thoroughly unpleasant, insufferable bitch to everyone around her!

I’m saying this as a massive fan of her character. She’s well-written and her arc is the one I’m most interested in following. But… holy fuck, imagining have to actually deal with this woman in real life. This cruel, hateful, racist, rude, spiteful, entitled, self-righteous/important, disrespectful… I could go on, but you get my point XD. She’s fucking awful and it’s saying something that Heaven of all places (for all its toxic positivity) can barely stand her attitude.

I’ve dealt with far too many people like Lute in my personal and work life. They’re a fucking nightmare, and call it bias if you want, but it was satisfying to see her finally get checked after all the bullshit she’d got away with in Season 1.
