Dixon and various other writers in the late 90s to mid 00s tried real hard to diminish Dick and Kory’s 10 year real time/3-4 year comic time relationship into a brief fling, had Bruce and Barbara make disparaging comments about Kory, and retconned in two times of Dick cheating on Kory with Babs (Nightwing Year One and Nightwing Annual #2). That lead to a lot of Dickkory shippers being (rightfully) salty about DC’s handling of them, which they then take out on the Dickbabs ship, which lead to Dickbabs shippers being angry about Dickkory and its shippers.During Morrison’s Batman saga, had he pushed Selina as Bruce’s true love at the same time he was destroying Talia’s character then he probably could’ve triggered a ship war on the same level.
