>>155267393They'll be begging Goose to be back on 5 months.
doing your... son?
>>155267393Probably bought out.
>>155267427Well, they are Australian
>>155267445ThisReal question is what company will be the ones to buy themMy bet is Amazon
>>155267393Ngl we need a truly countercultural indie studio that doesn’t pander to tumblrites, pooners, and other mentally ill teenagers. Like the Spumco or Liquid Television of indie animation.Making every indie cartoon some furry/diet anime loreslop with reddit humor that appeals only to teenage shippers isn’t healthy in the long run.
>>155267487Zach Hadels animation studios views seems promising based on their website, and they can make some good stuff knowing that Smiling Friends is probably the only good cartoon of the decade and is loved by normal human beings. They need to start making some indie shows, maybe have them acquire the rights to already existing ones, Space King would fit perfectly in their lineup.
>>155267487There's a hundred Internet cartoons that you probably don't know about
>>155267557I only watch popular thingsI just want them to be something good
>>155267476Agreed. Either Amazon or possibly Warner.Slightly off note but I hate how people seem to see GLITCH as this revolutionary studio dedicated to the little guy when their leads are consistently fucking over their own productions with stupid shit like kowtowing to Hollywood and cinemas and then saying>"b-buh we platformed creators"I don't doubt we'll get some drama from the production side after the NDA releases on TADC
>>155267393I'm so sick of the indie scene and "indie animation renaissance"I miss the 2000s-2014 era of web cartoons. Tired of these big budget "pilots" and "shows" and this includes Space King, it's good but is suffering from feature-creep. I expect ep 6 to take a year at this point. Just give me a 2-6 min cartoon that's made by a small group of buddies. Trying to bring the studio system to the Internet has been a fucking disaster.
>>155267487>He thinks the 90s are ever coming back
>>155267588>I don't doubt we'll get some drama from the production side after the NDA releases on TADCit will be 90% of goose being high and complaining he couldnt ruin his own series even more thoroughly and maybe overworked 2 animators complaining.
>>155267605It's insane how much money is being pumped into artificially creating and hyping up what is functionally just a modern expensive version of Eddsworld or Madness Combat.

Doesn't Glitch literally get subsidies from the australian govt? they'll be fine if that's the case.
>>155267897Honestly piggybacking off of what >>155267487said, if Glitch wants to stay alive by the end of the decade they’re gonna have to advance and make something unique, if all of their shows are just samey shit like:>lol randomness/meme references = funny>what if kids thing is dark and fucked up>lol here’s some cliche ass deep loreThey aren’t gonna make another show with Digital Circus level popularity if said show is just as generic as that show is, lightning isn’t gonna strike twice. You gotta take risks to survive.Maybe a good way to start is by picking up a show made by someone more niche online rather than some Newgrounds eceleb.
>>155268091It is possible to outgrow subsidies
>>155268188I hope Glitch acquires Space King just so it’s oversensitive Twitter fanbase throws a huge meltdown
>>155268314Even better, they should acquire Chimptopia.
>>155268091Not anymore. They had some start-up capital from Screen Australia and used it to fund Meta Runner and Sunset Paradise, but that's over. They also got a funding grant from Unreal since they used Unreal Engine in their production pipeline, but that was a one-time lump sum. They are entirely self funded now.
>>155268314I don't see that happening. Flashgitz seems to be the type to remain entirely independent. They've already turned down offers from a big streaming service (I'm guessing it was either Netflix or Amazon). They are using the Glitch business model themselves and it seems to me working for them. Their last Kickstarter has pulled over 2 million for their tabletop game.

When will people understand that a wide range of indie animation exists outside of two Youtube channels?
>>155269213Name 5
>>155268188Glitch is the Disney of indie animation, they aren’t gonna make something unique, just like how Disney has been using the same shitty formula for their films for almost 40 years now.
>>155267393They will come to their senses and work with the great John Fountain Zig a zig ah
>>155268188Glitch should just make a pilot anthology series like What a Cartoon, most popular pilots get picked up.
>>155270487Glitch can't be expected to single handedly carry the indie scene
>>155270547This.They've already been in hot water over excessive crunch creating a toxic work environment. It's probably why they've slowed down so much and shuttered SMG4.
>>155269170Pfffft, more like Gameoverse EPISODE 3
>>155267393Glitch will be far more corporate and will likely start compromising on animation quality as they continue bleeding money. >>155268781Can you blame 'em? They'll never be able to recreate the sheer popularity of Digital Circus. Even outside the confines of the one-and-done plot, these characterdesigns are still ridiculously marketable.
>>155270547This is why Glitch should’ve done that before they started greenlighting all the garbage they got on their hands, they’d have a workable amount of actually good and profitable shows, but instead they got>Spiderverse-like gothic loreshit that not even Hot Topic goths care to buy the merch of or be interested in the lore of.>Coomer-bait "what if kids thing but dark and fucked up" Wreck-It-Ralph as slop made by Egofaptor that panders only to people who make porn of the characters.>Tumblr-pandering "what if kids thing but dark and fucked up" stop made by Dana Shitass cause she’s mad Disney censored her shitty ugly tumblr cartoon.>Some cat show that only furfags care about. They need a lineup with variety.
>>155267393All I want to say is that I see failure for Glitch because they refuse to do male leads and I mean GOOD ones no one wants for example a bad emasculated beta bitch like Finn from Adventure Time. Since all Glitch main leads are shitty women there's no reason to keep watching them. The only reason Glitch is accessible is because they put their cartoons on youtube for free but if they demand money simply to watch them, no one would pay for their female oriented mediocre stuff. And Lackadaisy does NOT count as a genuine Glitch production.Glitch focuses so much on shitty female leads but they will never beat the QUEEN of estrogen when it comes to this, Disney. So between not being able to rival Disney with female leads and not having anything for dudes I see a grim future of eventual failure for Glitch.
>>155272911Another reason why Space King is superior
Tari's a spaz, Meggy's a sperg, Uzi's a gremlin, Pomni's a goblin, Mel's a psycho, Frankie's a schizo, Andi's a girlfailure, and Kit is just one of those trauma-chicks!
>>155274633Chestnut and Hatemonger should kiss
>>155268188>if Glitch wants to stay alive need to stop following the formula from their most successful show ever and listen to my tastes instead
>>155267393They will have lost their Digital Circus money by over hiring and over funding projects causing them to fire who knows how many people and either limit the budgets for all of their shows and/or outright cancelling them, including Knights of Guinevere, Gaslight District and Gameoverse and all of their shows will take months to even years to get a single episode out and they will never get even a single easy to produce show that can give their fanbase multiple 12 to 20 episodes aired weekly per season a year. They have gotten too excited and jumped the gun over the success with Digital Circus and sooner or later they will be forced to course correct at the cost of looking like the new bad guys within the community like any other big corporation like Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network, and similar to them they will most likely do their best to try to keep Digital Circus going, perhaps a spin off or reboot, as a desperate attempt to milk the franchise as their biggest, and only biggest, cash cow like SpongeBob or Teen Titans Go. But would continuing Digital Circus be as successful? It's like what happened with the developers of Bendy and the Ink Machine, small time indie business gets blinded by getting too big too fast causing them to make so many mistakes, but Joey Drew Studios (The Bendy Devs.) eventually got their stuff together, got rid of the cause of those mistakes and managed to recover and even though they didn't manage to become as big as they once were they are still in good graces and good business again. But can the same be said about Glitch? No, not only because animation is different business with different risks but because there will never be a cartoon as big as Digital Circus ever again, not even a spin off or reboot of the show, and if there will be one, it won't be Glitch. So instead of recovering like Joey Drew Studios they will be remembered as another Rooster Teeth and Machinima, even if they stay afloat during all the video essays.(1/2)
>>155275499Here's the three outcomes for Glitch.1. They go back to making smaller projects, Edge Runner at best, Mario parody videos at worst.2. They allow themselves to get bought out by a bigger corporate company as i honestly doubt indie animation meant that much to them, most likely they'd be bought out by either Amazon or Netflix. (What one of those dates would be worse?)3. Outright bankruptcy and forced to shut down the studio with the owners going back to YouTube videos, animation or not, without Glitch. What option do you believe to be the most likely? And please, don't get me wrong, i do not want any of this, i do not wish for the worst for any good souls like that, both owners and employees, no matter their mistakes, it honestly breaks my heart to write all of this down about a studio i used to have so much belief and faith in, a studio that has given me, my friends and even family so much fun and joy.But i gotta be a realist here and point out the red flags and patterns whenever i see them as i have seen this happen to companies before, especially indie companies no matter how big or small, and i see the same thing about Glitch and even though i hope they can recover from it i seriously, and honestly, doubt it.Screencap this.(/2/)
>>155267487>Ngl we need a truly countercultural indie studio that doesn’t pander to tumblrites, pooners, and other mentally ill teenagers.
>>1552755471. is inarguably the best scenario as it gets GLITCH off their Starfucker high horse without getting bought out/shut down, but is also unfortunately the least likely to occur.Sadly, either 2. or 3. are much more certain to occur.
>>155275547>Edge Runner at best, Mario parody videos at worst.Grim. I tried watching a few minutes of SMG4 and I am at a loss as to how anyone can enjoy watching it.
>>155272712Al;l the stuff they got now is fine and good, your descriptions of them are overly pessimistic versions that sound like they're coming from someone who went into watching them with the want to hate them beforehand. But with that being said, they simply are not able to live up to the success Digital Circus created.>>155272911>>155274422Sounds like off topic culture war nonsense to me.>>>/pol/>>155274633Are ya being serious or is this a meme?
>>155267568Expand your horizons, trust me, it'll make ya feel so much joy.>>155268188This.I have said it before and i will say it again, Glithc is a one trick pony, all they got is technological horror, most likely mixed with Christian themes, staring a cutesy yet #Relatable quirky female MC.Literally the only exceptions to this is Gaslight District, that only lacks the technological horror, but still has elements of horror with some technology involved (Might go full technological horror in the future given the track record.) and Sunset Paradise and even that has the aforementioned cutesy #Relatable quirky female MC.The brothers in charge of Glitch clearly have a preference, if not outright bias, when deciding what shows they do and don't pick up, so they don't really support indie animation as a whole, they only support specific indie animation.I have been saying this for a long while now only to be hated on for saying it and i am glad that more and more people are finally starting to notice what i have been seeing for a long time now.>>155270487See >>155270380And honestly what would be the point of that when YouTube exists? >>155267588It'll be Amazon because they don't have a dedicated animation arm for MGM and will need one. Disney has WDAS, DTVA and Pixar, Universal has DreamWorks and Illumination, Paramount will have Nickelodeon, Warner Bros. Animation, and Skydance Animation. There will be no pickings left for Amazon except Glitch. And they want to get into features as well so it makes sense. Plus they get the cred of having the new, "hip" indie studio.>>155267605No one wants to watch shorts. They want TV and features. It won't happen and the gap needs to be filled, even if indie becomes TV again. Artists want to make actual stuff and not just minisodes on YouTube.

>>155275547They will be either be bought by Amazon (same for Spindlehorse) or die because they killed their cash cow after only 9 episodes. Say what you will but TADCs biggest issue was that it was too short. Needed 2 seasons or about 20 episodes at least. Their new shows are all risky in a bad way. The only one that has broad appeal is Gameoverse and even that is a bit too tryhard. They should be kissing Gooseworx's ass quite frankly for handing them a megahit that Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network would beg to have.
>>155275819>Not to mention the controversy with Tari's VA.Yeah, that was a dumb-fuck mistake!I see a lot of their early mistakes as a result of the company growing too fast for them. They were still running it like they were when they were doing SMG4 in they're parents house.I think they didn't grasp that these people aren't friends and volunteers anymore. Their employees. They earn their livelihood working for them. I don't think that hit home for them.

>>155276187I don't know how to feel about it either. Although to be fair I'm just speculating with the bigger companies. So far Google and Apple has shown no indication that they want to buy anything like that. Even when presented with options like WBD and NBCUniversal Apple and Google has declined while Amazon or Netflix have placed bids. So who knows where it will go. All I know is Paramount and Disney are done.
