What's the /co/sensus with Steven Universe? Should I waste my time watching this cartoon? I remember finishing Season 1 but this was back when the show was still new so 2013- 2014ish. Does it get good later? What about the movies?
>>155268709stop watching when the green alien shows up, the series peaks with her debut and it's all downhill from there
>>155268709Gets better with each season, and theres only one movie
>>155268709Season 1 is considered the best, season 2 is also considered good, broad consensus is that around midway through season 3 it went completely off the rails and only has a handful of episodes worth watching after that. People also generally consider the movie to be good. I'd recommend looking up an episode guide, there are honestly a loooooot of episodes you can skip after the mid-point of the show.
Nope. Season 1 is the best season by far. I'd advise staying away.
>>155268709>What's the /co/sensus with Steven Universetranny garbage only fags would watch this
Cool artstyleNeat loreTerrible writingSteven is an ugly fat midget and the faggiest fag despite being despite having a girlfriendThe porn is amazing
>>155268709>What's the /co/sensus with Steven Universe? that it was gay and retarded
It’s LGBT propaganda
>>155268709the rare case where the fandom surpasses the show like that comic from chekhov, that white steven.
>>155268709Too many retarded townie episodes
>>155268709I remember wanting to like this show and it would be a lie to say I didn't enjoy parts of it (Peridot). However, I just got really frustrated how little actually happened and them squandering some neat lore ideas. I think that ep with onion and his piss squad made me drop the show.
>>155269385That's widely regarded as the worst episode in the show and was basically a backdoor pilot for Craig of the Creak.
>>155269160That's really my only issue with Steven Universe. The Townie episodes start to become a drag in those final two seasons, especially since those don't implement very much Gem sci-fi like the earlier Townie episodes would. Still, not enough to ruin the series as a whole for me. It's a fun ride, and the plot-specific stuff gets to some pretty interesting places as you approach the ending. I especially love how that final epilogue season carried itself.
>>155269674I'm sorry to anyone who likes this show, but the only joy I got from this series since then was learning Pearl and Greg were an option and the resulting anal fallout from the fanbase
>>155268709Cozy slice of life show that’s 60% random nonsense, 40% increasingly The Gem designs are all very creative and there’s a strong, well-structured development of them learning how to become human. Shitposters overplay how much “And then Steven kisses the problem better” thing and none of the conflict resolutions feel unearned at all. It’s very true that it drags in the middle and the Future epilogue feels like misery porn.
>>155271569Increasingly tense sci fi drama*
>>155271569The only thing I really liked about Future was that they actually drew Blue Diamond consistently and made it abundantly clear what a complete fucking hottie she was.
>>155268709Rebecca Sugar had a lot of potential as an artist and creator but chose to funnel it into becoming a part of the gay agenda and continually degraded as a result. Her show was meaningful to me as a stepping stone towards learning to make real cartoons and other art.
>>155268709Greg and pearl shippers won by every metric
>>155272047Not until it's on TV and truly canonized.
>>155268709It alright
>>155268709I really liked it. One of my top 5 favorite western cartoons. It has its flaws, but it's definitely worth a watch.I've watched it more than I care to admit. It just gives off comfy vibes that make me feel good, so I tend to throw it on in the background when I don't know what else to watch.
>>155268709COOKIE CAT
>>155268709It has a nice little Horny Comfy community like Adventure Time does
>>155272641How bout this?
>>155268987>Cool artstyleOnly the backgrounds
>>155268709It's more formulaic than AT, which makes the show lose a lot of points, and it's also very plot-focused. But aside from that, it's easily an 8/10, while AT is a 10/10. One of my favorite characters is the father; he's the kind of character you don't see very often. Also, the animation is really good.
>>155275980>it's easily an 8/10, while AT is a 10/10. Nah, and I don’t mind SU and I like AT
>>155268810>there are honestly a loooooot of episodes you can skip after the mid-point of the showI disagree. Despite all the talk about townie episodes ruining the show, the first season is much more loaded with them.In later seasons the townie episodes just feel more frustrating because there's all this mystery and lore in the background you'd rather they be focusing on.And there are really only a handful of genuinely pointless episodes. Most of the townie episodes are pushing the story in some way. Like exploring Steven's powers or resolving character drama.Like a dumb episode about Steven fighting pizza monsters in dreams is really about exploring his powers and his tendency to ignore his own welfare while helping others.
>>155276014>Most of the townie episodes are pushing the story in some way. Like exploring Steven's powers or resolving character drama.
>>155268709It gets worst after each season. Both story and animation. Anyone praising it are zero standard coomers.
>Should I waste myJust watch some, form an opinion, and don't be a lazy sheep. Presuming you're being genuine and not a trolling faggot
>>155268709Started out good and cozy and cute, if uglyturned woke as fuck, at a time when that was not yet completely obvious.
>>155276217Apparently, Sugar let the storyboarders make the show the Marvel way.
>>155276127Ehh, the visuals were still nice
>>155268709>Does it get goodHehehehe... hah... hahaha. HAHAHA. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHHA
>>155276926>dat Gunter plushie
>>155277230
>>155268709It's practically the gayest cartoon *ever*. It's hyper-woke. If that's your kind of thing, or you're at least ok/neutral to that kind of thing, then go ahead, but otherwise it might be grating or intolerable.
>>155278779“Le woke” in 2010, we actually called that “Bold.” In fact, even today, SU/AT have been “Bold” kids’ cartoons because, contrary to what the chuds on the board think, normies don’t like anything that’s different, especially chuds. If normies weren’t so homophobic and opportunistic, “chuds” would suffer more bullying than they normally do. But chuds at least serve the purpose of knowing how to use technology (not all of them). The most fucked-up thing for me is having nerds wanting to be accepted into normie society, which is like a club where you have to change yourself to be accepted. Why do I want to be part of a hive mind?
>>155268709Shit's WOKE.
>>155268709Jesus fucking Christ the character design is retarded, Steven is just so utterly repulsive to look at? Is it any wonder than anime is winning over western animation?
>>155276014>Most of the townie episodes are pushing the story in some way. Like exploring Steven's powers or resolving character drama. That stopped being the case by season 4.
>>155268709I like it. But it does run a little long and there's a noticeable gap between the good shit. I'm not even one of those people who hated the townie episodes. Most of the stories were just shittier than others. I wish we had more musical cartoons.
I know Bismuth was tempted to crack Lapis’s gem again at this moment.
