Why are there so many super powerful DC aliens who are specifically vulnerable to mind control
>>155270017Well if the mind control is magical based then yeah Kryptonians are kind of boned.
>>155270029Kryptonians seem vulnerable to most types
>>155270017it's mind control, i'd assume most people without existing mind powers are pretty vulnerable to it
>>155270017It’s the problem that comes with being strong and brash. The brain parts remain small and squishy
Which one of these two is going to be the defining hypnotist for this time period? Is it going to be a kind of Kaa-and-Hypno situation?
>>155272395>Is it going to be a kind of Kaa-and-Hypno situation?I think Pecharunt and Malamar have them both beaten when it comes to that
>>155272395It will either be Vox or someone we haven’t met yet:
Aw sweet hypnosis thread.
>>155270029>>155270765kryptonians are but mental defenses can be learned, usually the animation adaptions are early in their careers so they dont know that yet. magic or not magic doesn't really matter in this case.

>>155274569The dreamy way she says "Join... You..." is really hot
i would post art but every time i do the thread gets deleted...
>>155272539Malamar was alright but the pecharunt stuff did nothing for me and was kind of cringe. I'd say vox has a better chance because evil hypnotists and non-con seem to be the big thing with the younger generations.
>>155274655SFW should be fine
>>155274580One of the hottest things in hypno scenes is the dreamy hypnotized voice, I can't stand when a scene has them speak and look totally normal other than their mind being changed about something.
>>155274745Yeah. What’s your opinion on the emotionless monotone. Personally I think it’s inferior to the dreamy tone
>>155274879I'd have to agree, the monotone sounds more robotic, whereas the dreamy distant voices sound like they're still there but slipping further into that trance to the point where talking is a chore. Especially evident when they can only repeat the keywords back to the hypnotist "you are feeling very sleepy" "....sleepy..."
>>155274879nta, but I rather the dreamy voice too many people say I have a monotone voice and now I can't unhear it>>155274741afaik the last pics I posted were sfw, I catbox nsfw, I'll let others trickle in before I post jic
>>155270017Much prefer the other hypno scene, I am biased when it comes to pendulums though.
>>155270017Because nobody is immune to propaganda.
>>155274966It’s so hot. With that being said, I do think that regular voice can be fine in cases of altered perception
Which is better? Official or fanmade
>>155275134I can see the appeal but for myself I prefer it to be something I can enjoy completely out of context, like when the signs of hypnosis are shoved in your face. That's why corruption and body control also doesn't do it for me.
Reminder that Tom Holland got to act out a brainwashed kissing scene with his wife who loves him
>>155275259Makes sense since those can be creepy. Speaking of which, hope you’re ready for Obsession to influence a bunch of the hypno going forward
>>155275332I'm more worried about hypnosis being demonized even more as an incel coded pseudo rape fetish. Mind control and hypnosis are two different kinks so I'm hoping that obsession isn't any kind of influence, I'd put it right up there with hypnosis apps that are just there as an excuse for a sex scene, total disinterest from myself.
>this and Mysterio and god knows how many other timesSo MJ is a total hypno pushover right?
>>155275332>Speaking of which, hope you’re ready for Obsession to influence a bunch of the hypno going forwardNO. I am so hells beyond tired of hypnosis fetishists trying to wipe the shoes of media that is violently anti-hypnosis. Get Out, Shock Induction and now this bullshit. Every time a hypnosis artist quits because of one of these abominations, they laugh. You can't play nice with them any more.
>>155275409Yeah. That’s definitely possible. Luckily the MCU is about to reintroduce Emma Frost who should help
>>155275498She also got her memory wiped in No Way Home
>>155275513I feel like it will be handled like age of Ultron as a quick "zap, you're mind raped now" but we'll see. I wish zatanna got more attention on the DC side, with the whole stage magician theme she could be bringing in some classic pocket watch action.
>>155275576Zatanna should totally have a headlining project in the DCU. If we can get even one SenselessSquirrel comic adapted, that would be amazing.
>>155275628Dream scenario as far as cape slop goes, we can dream anyways.
>>155272395man noone gives a fuck about vriska
>>155275673The problem with cape stuff is that it’s usually either repressed or The Boys levels of debauchery
exactly how can you write a hypnotist character without making them seem like an complete asshole. Genuinely asking.
>>155275943The Boys is such a colossal crock of shit. I'm amazed it even got a TV show at all, let alone a bad one.
>>155275576>"zap, you're mind raped now"as if that wasn't hot
>>155275972Make them caring and shy. Or a genuine hypnotherapist. Kindness is key
>>155275977Yeah. But some good moments. Gen V was better but still suffered from the same issues. At least Marie, Cate, and Godolkin were great. Gen V also had a hypno anti hero in Cate and a body control villain in Godolkin. he briefly takes control of Marie in the finale
>>155276027>genuine hypnotherapistI think that's the direction I'm going with so far, he does get carried away with it.
>>155276087As long as he’s somewhat respectful and genuinely kind, he won’t come across as too much of a jerk
>>155275990I like when there's an actual process to it, magic and tech insta win buttons aren't hot when you don't care about the control part. Personal gripe I know but I usually only care about the actual induction and skip the rest.
Post your early influences
>>155276185Ever seen Galavant?
>>155270017Fetish slop thread, but unconventional powers like mental ones incite more creative conflicts than battles of brute force
>>155276202can't say I have
>>155276238There’s a plotline in season 2 where the main love interest is given a mind controlling crown that makes her overly cheerful and willing to marry
>>155276278Nice, I'm guessing that one got to you?
>>155276342Something about seeing someone turn bright and bubbly
>>155276746Tomboy hypnosis :)
>>155275990Did you find Jean Grey hot?
>>155276746SUCH a hypno-sponge.Of course now I'm really curious about Eyemore's whole species. Can they all do this? Is there some galactic empire of hypnotic cyclops in the Biker Mice universe or is Eyemore an anomaly?
>>155276185https://youtu.be/uAk3Aw6JwJg?si=gfkAPG9AAvrQ5Hf1I could write an essay on all the layers going on in this scene and why I love it so.Seriously, I could.
>>155275258Fan made based on official
>>155277148Interestingly this implies that trance and hypnotic telepathy held a significant cultural or religious importance in his culture before its destruction
>>155277148Go on
>>155276106He is kind, but also very in love with the person he is helping. Which leads to problems.
>>155278067Awww. Yeah I think he’s cute so far. And don’t worry too much about jerkiness. A little spice is good when tempered
>>155270017i feel like hypnotism is just the writer's fetishes seeping in. for psionic characters it makes sense, but if anyone with a pocket watch could get superman to go on a killing spree i think we're all fucked.
>>155270017Artists of all kinds tend to be perverts, writers not excluded.
>>155278736Claremont and Marston living their best lives doing as they whim for decades. And darn Slott getting the rug pulled being too blatant and bringing the house down.
>>155279047Now only the women can save us
>>155279640You just gave me a revelation, when the current gen x male dominated and demotivated crop finally fuck off, we're going to be subject to internet poisoned women bringing their AO3 and adult novel fantasies to comics.Wew buckle up.
>>155279778In some small ways it’s already started. New Supergirl from last year had muscle growth and corruption
>>155279850I predict throuples and polygamy becoming the next progressive crusade through the offices.
>>155279871Maybe we’ll finally get Spider-Man MJ and Black Cat together
>>155270017Why are there so many non-superpowered DC humans who are vulnerable to mind control?
>>155280014We might see something like that come 2050. And definitely when the copyright expires and we enter AI wildwest territory. There is an entire crop of greyhairs that have to leave before we get to see anything fun, sexy or creative again.
>>155280334Now that she’s an Xman how do you think Kamala will be hypnotized next,
>>155278059Okay, there's a few angles going on here that I like, so I'll do my best to articulate it.Starting off with the pure surface level. Molly is defiant. She has absolutely no patience in this crisis situation she's been thrust into to deal with any of Ceres' nonsense. When he drones on about his superiority, her response is to tell him to fuck off. That makes the fact she falls under trance and surrenders so quickly especially delicious, and a great demonstration of how powerful Ceres' hypnosis is. There's also, if you're so inclined, the looming danger of the double perils- while Molly is in trance, her racer is, in reality, zooming towards a stone wall at hundreds of miles per hour. Inside the trance, Molly is mindlessly plodding along a narrow pier above the ruins of the Mong homeworld, towards an edge that stretches out over a yawning chasm, so deep that a dust storm obscures even the darkness of the bottom.
>>155281133But let's dig deeper into that surface level reading and examine what it means. Molly is rebellious. She's stubborn, defiant, and driven. It's who she is. She escaped her boarding school to track down her deadbeat dad, stowed away to a race to determine the fate of mankind, and through sheer grit and determination, has earned her spot on the team. It's one of the main conflicts of the episode, Molly, despite proving herself again and again, is kicked off the team in favor of Rick, the racer who was actually chosen. Molly is only in the cockpit because Rick has been hiding the extent of his injuries from everyone, and blacked out in the cockpit. Molly leaped from a bridge onto the racer and forced her way in to save his life. So it's clear that Molly is determined, self-assured, confident, willful, and stubborn. So when this stickman starts bragging about how old he is, Molly doesn't even bother dignifying his ramblings with a respinse further than "Get Lost".
>>155281435Ceres erases that in only a few seconds. As soon as he starts playing his flute, he's able to totally subsume Molly's worldview and personality with his own. In this moment, amongst the ruins of the Mong homeworld, Molly fully believes everything Cwres is saying. He is better. His culture and his people existed before the Earth was ever formed. Her own, brief life is meaningless in the face of something as grand and ancient as the Mong. The fact that Ceres took notice of her at all, let alone found her worthy of being shown the Mong world so she can understand exactly how insignificant she is, is the crowning achievement of humanity as a whole. She's not scared. She's not sad. To be either of those things places value on an existence which has none. Her current reality is a simple statement of facts- in the real world, her struggles, her dreams that she once thought all important, her simple mayfly life, will be extinguished, a fleeting ember glowing and dying in the void of the universe. In the trance, her soul will forever be part of the Mong homeworld, an unnoteworthy grain of sand amongst the graves of a civilization that surpassed everything she could ever know millenia before her race ever evolved.
>>155281446And the kicker is... Ceres is dead wrong about everything. He's a petty, hypocritical little shit. There are rules in the race that racers cannot directly kill each other. Ceres is trying to bend those rules by loophole, by making Molly zonked out so she crashes. And he's doing it partly to win, because he is afraid the Earth team can beat him, and partly because as much as he likes to appear all knowing, all powerful, and all important, Molly friggin pissed him off. If the Earth team were as insignificant as he tries to make them seem, why would he fucking care what they have to say? Are you worried about what the ants in your yard say about you? The only reason he goes through such pagentry is to soothe his own massive, wounded, thin skinned ego.But his power is such that, even if Molly would normally see through it in a second... in that instant, she entirely believes it. It takes Rick rescuing her to remind her of herself and who she is and shatter the lie that Ceres was able to so effortlessly, entirely trap her in.Ceres made her submit herself entirely, heart, mind, body, and soul, to his petty whims. And God damn there's something so dark but achingly hot about that.
>>155279778That could be good if it gives us more characters like Vox
>>155272539Those scenes WERE weirdly hot
