Captain america should be a gun guy, it looks so right on him
I always thought the way he used his shield like a boomerang was fucking stupid, let his shield be a shield

>I always thought the way he used his shield like a boomerang was fucking stupid, let his shield be a shield
youre stupid here
shooting people with a gun is about as generic as you can get
the shield is his iconic item and the more things he can do with just the shield, the better

the shield being tossed around like a boomerang is what makes his combat unique and what makes fights more dynamic
and the character having the skill and strength to expertly throw a shield in such a way that it hits two people and then returns to your arm is much more impressive than just blasting people
>>
Yeah, let's just throw away the character's principal iconography. Better remove the stars and stripes too. Replace the A with a swastika maybe.

it feels like the same though process behind giving wonder woman a sword

the lasso of truth is her most iconic weapon and is practically a part of her outfit
why would you go out of your way to give her the same weapon every other ancient-themed hero and villain has when the lasso stands out more and creates a much more unique fighting style?

Meh, the gun should be an accessory, but not his main standby. Even USAgent kind of feels wrong whipping out lead beyond targets of opportunity.

>Replace the A with a swastika maybe.
That would probably make him more unique

I think they felt that to make Wonder Woman more valid/cool, they had to make her more violent, hence the sword.

buckyCap used a gun
>>
>>155278294
Nah. That would make him an anime character. Plenty of Buddhist characters in the East got that forehead swastika.

low IQ will say:
>heroes don't use guns because guns are evil tools of oppression

midwits will say:
>heroes fight melee because it's cooler when they punch people

but high IQ will say:
>intentionally using an antiquated weapon effectively in a modern setting subtly implies their superiority over villains who need tech and numerical superiority to help them against an unarmored juggernaut with a frisby

Superheroes dont kill people, fucking retard
>>
>>155279114

true but there's plenty of projectile weapons considered "less lethal" than a fucking sword

I don't mind captain america having or using a gun, but the shield's one of his big gimmicks and aesthetic choices. It's supposed to invoke the image of an american protector, and maybe a knight.

really? Got any pictures of them?

Personally, I don't think regular firearms actually suit most full-costumed superheroes.
The only time it works to me is when they were casual clothes and a mask like Red Hood.

I can't think of any superheroes who actually look good with a full costume and a firearm, but maybe I'm forgetting someone?

This logic only works with certain heros and with certain tones. Captain America works in the context of corny propaganda but in any other story, it just falls apart. Especially when they try to go for some sort of gritty, Tom Clancy, political thriller storyline about conspiracy theoriest and corrupt politicians or whatever.
>>
>>155279114
Captain America isn't just a superhero though, he's a super soldier. Whole plotlines revolve around the fact that in spite of how friendly he is he doesn't have the no-kill rule, he just prefers not to if there's any other alternative.
>>
>>155277961
It isn't just that, it's also thematically central to the character. He protects people, he protects the dream. Cap doesn't just use a shield, he IS a shield.

NTA, though its not at his forehead, there's definitely some notable guys with the swastika imagery.

He's a supersoldier that fought in world war 2. I want to see him shooting nazis. Why the fuck would I wanna watch him do anything else.
>I can't kill you red skull or random hydra goon, because that would make me just as bad as the nazis
See how retarded that sounds?
>>
>>155279114
This mentality is so gay. Heroes should definitely kill in the right context

>I always thought the way he used his shield like a boomerang was fucking stupid, let his shield be a shield
lol shut up secondary
