In English class we learned that stories are meant to be felt and evoke emotions within you, and that the analysis is supposed to help you feel more and resonate with the story, human expression and all that, but I get the feeling (:D) that stories nowadays are rarely felt by audiences and the analysis is for its own sake rather than for the feeling.
