What are some good Ant-Man comics /co/?
>>155333387All of them.
>>155334316ANTS haha
>>155333387Hank is the best Avenger. I have made this clear. Avengers 228 through 231 are a stand out moment as to why.>>155334316Ants
>>155334316ANTS
While there are not a lot of solo Ant-Man comics, he got some use in back up stories in other comics, they are nice
>>155335114When is going to stop looking old?
>>155340372Never ever
>>155333526More like Antastic Four
>>155333387COMICBOOKS
>>155335114I liked him in EMH, but I have zero comic book knowledge of him.I just know he had a false start with Stan Lee, and that the latter couldn't make Antman work.
>>155341723The Ant-Men mini by Ewing needs to be added
>>155341935Stan claims that it's because the artists never played with the change in perspective enough, so the comic ends up looking like a guy in costume without eye catching powers. In part it's true but only the half of it, the original run of Tales to Astonish with Hank and Janet wasn't as impressive as the rest of Marvel's lineup in terms of story. Hank's origin was lacking, the stories were simple villain of the month without drama about Hank's inner life, there was no supporting cast, at first it was only Hank being Ant-Man full time, it wasn't unti Janet arrived that he finally had someone to talk to and some may argue that their schtick was too similar to Reed and Sue with maybe more arguments without also having their Ben and Johny to balance. And then their comic was cancelled and The Avengers became their home and where their more iconic moments are from .
>>155338335Gonna post the rest that I found

>>155348463What is this creature?
>>155348463Erik Larsen's Ant.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ant_(character)
>>155349481Ant
>>155349736I've seen this joke at least twice
This is like the only time I've seen Scott and Bill talk
>>155353536He never said that
>>155353463Crazy how Bill has been dead for 20 years
bvmp
>>155347255I wonder how many of these short stories there are, of Ant-Man showing up in random comics as extra stories
>>155353463Was Scott a scientist?
>>155358832He IS one, although in his own words he's a lousy scientist but not for nothing he was hired as the Fantastic Four technical advisor when Reed was unavailable. He's the kind of guy that can cook Pym Particles in the kitchen sink of his rundown apartment.
>>155358832He did a lot of technical work for Avengers HQ in the past
Behold the next Ant-Man upgrade
>>155355963You can thank Mark Millar for that
>>155359181What an odd creature
>>155358986He once had the hots for Sue
>>155335114Hawkeye is better, but Hank is pretty cool
>>155360381Clint is funny
>>155334316Ants
>>155358986>>155359137He acts like a dummy too often
How come no one ever brings up this era when talking about Hank's comics?
>>155363728It's a pretty weird series, Hank was stuck for a while at ant size, so the main hook becomes less of a power fantasy and more of a way to create problems.
>>155343346fit goes kinda hard
>>155360202Wel, look how she was walking around, who wouldn't?
>>155366498The lab coat fits Hank rather well
>>155355963I hate it and it's not like his nephew does much
>>155370461Why is she so caked up
>>155342589Why? It's shit.
>>155374541It's a decent read, and to keep the list up to date, seems like the last comic is from 6 years ago.
>>155366522Scott looks so ugleh here but it's sweet how Sue says he reminds her of Reed
>>155371971Well cause I commissioned it and Rita Demara makes me turgid
>>155375290Nice
>>155358986Scott Lang's more of an engineer/inventor who knows how Pym's Ant-Man tech works and how to fix it, but he's not really the kind of all-purposes scientist that's somehow skilled in every field of science that cape comics writers tend to portray every scientist type as.
>>155363728>How come no one ever brings up this era when talking about Hank's comics? It took place outside of Tales to Astonish or Avengers and the Epic Collections are the first time it's ever been reprinted, so it's fairly obscure. To anyone who remembers it it's mostly just known as a short-lived failed series. Like >>155365389 is saying, the book's plot hook of Hank being stuck at Ant-Man size feels more like a short term plot than a concept for an ongoing book.
>>155376379Yeah, he can usually work with machines created by comic book science but he'll need to see blueprints and it will take time to understand how it works and even then he has a limit since his area of expertise is engineering, he can't just whip out a crash course in say, chemistry and have a solution involving that. The only other thing he's a real expert is Pym Particles and he is arguably the one person in 616 that knows the most about them, seeing what he did during his time leading the FF.
Actually cool how Ghost and Scott share the same creators and years later would star in the same movie
