Because nobody watches it prolifically besides boomers, execs have no incentive to invest in children's animation, meaning that it's not interesting, which means even less people watch it, and so on.The second reason being that indie series like TADC are more accessible to kids than ever. A lot of people have criticized TADC for kind of just being a kids' show with swearing and surface-level edginess, but that's what makes it actually popular among kids: it's easily comprehensible and not excessively profane or dark by any means while still coming off as in-touch and offering a level of edginess that's obviously going to be far more appealing to your average kid than a totally inoffensive background noise show like, say, Big City Greens. Even 2010s CN shows like Regular Show and TAWOG fit the mold of being meaningfully edgy in a way that kids like without being "adult".In short, there are indie animated shows for kids; it's just that the typical marketable idea of a "kids' show" is woefully outdated and nobody in the industry is going to realize that until it's all gone.
