It's about time we admitted that South Park covering current events was a massive mistake. Abandoning the original season 1-3 vision killed the show. After they went this route, nupark became inevitable.It's time to go back to simple adventures.

>>155364548Trey is a faggot for this, South Parks classic era seasons were revolutionary and countercultural, not as good as the golden age, but were overall really funny and charming despite being tonally different, being clearly Peanuts and Monty Python-inspired.Seasons 5-15 were the shows golden age, maybe a bit near the end of those seasons there was a silver age, but "You’re Getting Old" was definitely the shows turning point IMO and is where the downfall began.

You see it all the time. From Matt and Trey's perspectives, I imagine they think they got better over time and see the early work as flawed. Arguably true for seasons 4-9 vs 1-3, but after that I find it hard to hard for the later seasons over the first three.

Seasons 11-14 are like 50% good and 50% boring. Like a quarter of the episodes from seasons 15-17 are good with 16 having it the worst. 18 onwards is the dark age.
