Okay guys, here’s a good ol’ 2AM Looty theory. It’s actually one I had a while ago, but I’m bringing it back now that we have confirmation that Roo is the Evil God: I think Eve made a deal with Roo.When exactly the deal happens? Maybe Eve dies and meets Roo when her soul is judged, or maybe, like MM suggested, she goes to Hell first. Either way, I think Eve eventually comes into direct contact (again) with the entity she originally let into humanity by taking the apple. I’m also assuming Adam and Lilith already had free will since Lilith was able to reject Adam and leave before the Fruit, while the creation story specifically singles out Eve accepting it as the moment Evil enters humanity. Whatever connection that created between Eve and Roo may therefore be unique to her only. Together, they arrange the regular slaughter of sinner souls ( controlling Hell, preserving the status quo, and possibly feeding Roo in the process ) while Roo gives Eve something she wants: a second chance in Heaven. The obvious problem is Adam. He would recognize his own fucking wife, so the bargain would have to account for that. What if Roo removes the real Eve from everyone’s memory and replaces her with another version? Roo’s Eve. That could explain why the Eve in the storybook resembles Lilith’s old pilot design while also having Roo’s red eyes, like combining traits from both. That isn’t the real Eve at all. She’s the Eve everyone remembers ( including Adam ) while the original Eve assumes another identity: Lute,Eve enters Heaven under a new name and earns her “second chance” through service, eventually helping establish the Exterminations. If she’s technically a damned soul who shouldn’t even be in Heaven, Lute’s demonic traits ( her teeth, her eyes ) suddenly make a bit more sense. Sera may have known from the beginning, but I lean toward her discovering the truth later, which could help explain the strange way she handles Lute. (1/?)

I never bought the old argument that Lute’s Season 1 blood splatter literally resembles an apple, but I do find it interesting how often red surrounds her at important moments. Lute becomes the face of the Exterminations against a red background despite Adam supposedly being responsible for creating them. When she tears off her arm, again, red background. In the book, Eve is surrounded by red imagery with the apple, and during Sera’s son, Lute is once again shown against red. The repeated visual overlap between Lute, Eve, Evil and the Exterminations keeps catching my attention,Finally, if we use the leaks only as a speculative roadmap, Season 3 could end on the Eve reveal, setting her up as the major antagonist of Season 4, the gold season, until Charlie eventually defeats her. Only then is Roo revealed at the end of the season, setting up the true God of Evil as the final threat for Season 5: the red season. (2/2)
