What's the experience at your Local Comic Store like?

>>155401876It's been a while since I last went but it was a dreary experience. Most of the space was taken up by tables for tabletop gaming and tcgs. While there was some space for boxes of back issues and wall/shelf space for newer and popular stuff they seemed to be turning into more of an afterthought. Maybe it might be a different atmosphere during a gaming night but the place always had an air of a slow death. Unfortunately this is the closest comic book shop in my area.

>>155401876Small, usually empty. There’s one guy who always comes in and reads his floppies at one of the tabletop gaming tables. I don’t think I’ve ever visited and not seen him there.Lots of long boxes of old stuff are on display near the entrance; I hardly see any new comics, more figurines and tabletop expansions. Every Wednesday, those long box comics go on sale. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone buy them.There’s a cat that hangs out near the front (or, *did* hang out when I last visited). She’s very nice and let me pet her despite us never meeting before. I honestly wish I could go to the store more often, but I’m a gigantic fucking pussy and keep leaving with the jitters every time I try. (Construction has doubled my time to get there, too, so I just don’t visit much anymore at all…)

>>155401876I have not seen one with backissue long boxes in years. Every comic shop I have been in the last 15 or so years is 90% Funkos or statues, maybe old toys, with a single wall dedicated to new floppies. One in St Louis was largely a comic themed bar.
>>155401876It's awesome. Good selection, friendly staff, and they do rewards program where you back a percent of any new stuff you buy as store credit. They do a big sale on free comic book day which always falls near my birthday. I buy more rpg shit there than comics (it's a pretty big rpg, ccg and board game store as well), but I do try and buy some odds and ends there comics wise as well. The owner is really cool, theyve been in the area for like 30 years, they've managed to build a really good community around the place and it's always pretty busy.

>>155401876Im fairly close to 5 shops and I have never had a bad experience in any of them Workers are generally friendly and there is usually other customers Some of them moved over to having gaming nights which is annoying just because people who play those card games smell bad
