>VisionQuest won’t connect to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe but serves as a starting point for a new story that will loosely adapt the legendary comic run “The Children’s Crusade”. A previous MCU character make an appearance by the end of VisionQuest, serving as connective tissue for this upcoming plot.

>In Allan Heinberg’s 2010-2012 story, Wiccan, one of the Young Avengers, loses control of his reality-warping powers and decides to find his mother, the Scarlet Witch, in an attempt to not turn out like her. Meanwhile, the Avengers and X-Men also search for her following her actions in the “House of M” event. Doctor Doom also plays a role in the story, being engaged to the amnesiac Scarlet Witch, and unbeknownst to her, trying to take her powers for himself.

>This feels like the next logical step in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Wanda Maximoff presumed dead following the events of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, Wiccan (Joe Locke) searching for his brother Tommy (Ruaridh Mollica), and the X-Men and Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr) being developed in other projects.

>VisionQuest will also feature the original Human Torch, Jim Hammond, though he will only feature in one episode of the series, and it is his creator, Professor Phineas Horton, who will play a larger role in the upcoming series.

why do gamora and nebula get to be redeemed by it's impossible for wanda to be redeemed?

Can they recast that ugly actor for Billy

>vision quest
>vision is not even mentioned in the story

Because a space pirate kidnapping you and indoctrinating you to be is daughter assassins is more understandable than having powers that by their nature are unpredictable and irrational so they enslaved a whole town, isolated a whole town, and made the world forget about the whole town, and then while enslaving that whole town you used a magic book inspired by a dark evil god designed to prevent your intentions, your intentions being getting back fictional children you made with the same spell you used to enslave that town, and how the book systematically and methodically used that want to lure you into increasing more evil and psychotic acts until you are a literal demon killing thing rampantly culminating into you allowing the dark god who inspired the book to enter your dimension. The dark god entering the world wont be discussed because there just isnt enough air time to devote to a single movie.

>tldr: Space daddy made me a killer vs. I read it in a book while Fran from 70's show begged me to kill her.

I wonder how bad this will be on a scale of badness where 10 is a recast and 4 is "takes off mask and is working for Doom for some reason to be named later."

>VisionQuest won’t connect to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe but serves as a starting point for a new story
So will that new story be in movies or a show? Either way, surely it's going to connect to the larger MCU.

With the backlash against the shows getting referenced in movies, we could end up with some stupid situation where in the shows Vision is alive and Wiccan and Speed are real, but the movies never acknowledge or reference any of this, while Wanda apparently dying in a movie means the WandaVision spinoff shows aren't allowed to bring her back.

Olsen just had a baby weeks ago, so I'd doubt she'll be showing up in this. The sudden flood of rumors feels like it's just bait to help build up hype for Avengers Doomsday.

As someone who was really into Young Avengers 20 years ago when it came out WHY WOULD YOU DO CHILDREN'S CRUSADE
>>
>>155402134
It's crazy since she has a big fan base you'd think they'd redeem her even if she doesn't deserve it.
>>
Why is marvel so dead set on adapting crap and not any of their decades of good stories?
>>
>>155402097
Feels like they've been trying to plant seeds for Young Avengers since Endgame finished.
>>
>>155402751
Because they've heard of it. Same reason they felt like they had to adapt Civil War, Disassembled and House of M. Because they'd heard of them.

Once you get past the origin stories, Fiege appears to be very much a student of Quesada era Marvel, and that era did a very effective job of convincing people that nothing pre-2001 really matters outside of a select few big stories.

>Adapting the Young Avengers
>Starring a bunch of 20 and 30 year olds
>Adapting the CHILDREN'S CRUSADE
Nobody wants this.
>>
>>155402928
Their versions are even close outside the basic premise so it doesn't really matter what stories they adapt because they end up not even that similar. I mean infinity war comics and MCU are only the same in that a bunch of heros fight thanos who wants to wish half of all life away with the infinity gauntlet .
>>155403018
>House of M
Is it really house of M without the mutants as that's the most iconic part. I mean I mentioned they aren't really the same stories at all but that's like infinity war without the snap.

>Is it really house of M without the mutants as that's the most iconic part. I mean I mentioned they aren't really the same stories at all but that's like infinity war without the snap.
Don't use the word "iconic" for an awful story like that, anon. Just don't. They adapted a version of the basic premise of Wanda creating a false reality, and "a version of the basic premise" is about as close as the MCU usually gets anyway.

But people like you are out there calling for them to adapt House of M again just because Wanda didn't say "no more mutants" yet and acting like that moment's the whole point of her character.
>>
>>155403188
I never said they should adapt it again and while I'd say it's iconic in the definition of being well known in the comic space I suppose infamous would be the better term.
>>
>>155403018
Man does half of the cast even exist in the MU yet?
>>
>>155402751
For the uninitiated, what's wrong with adapting children's crusade? Is it a really bad run?
>>
>that poster visual

>>155403840
It was the author burning all his bridges in an attempt to rehabilitate Wanda after no more mutants, is way too many characters standing around talking with some fight spreads and then Cassie dies because fuck you I guess.

What a revolting development this is.

I don't think it's bad, Jim Cheung's art is mostly gorgeous, but it came out years after the original Young Avengers series was suspended, and fans of the series found it wasn't a satisfying conclusion.

To be really quick, issue #12 of Young Avengers ended with them about to search for the Scarlet Witch, but the series was put on hold due to Heinberg's other commitments (and maybe House of M unexpectedly turning Wanda into a genocidaire) and instead of having another writer take over, they held it for him, doing only miniseries and cameos from other writers.

So the story, when they finally did it, has at most five or six issues' worth of story told in nine, wraps up the stories of most of the Young Avengers really quickly, and wastes a lot of time on trying to get Wanda to restore the mutant powers she took away, which every single reader knew would not be allowed to happen in this comic (just like everyone knows Wanda won't be coming back in a streaming series).

Oh and there was Doomwank

>Oh and there was Doomwank
>And there was Doom is engaged to an amnesiac Wanda and Doomfags are never ever going to let it go
I really hope they're not retarded enough to do this again in the MCU

Vision is such a shitty character with a black hole personality, the only reason to consume this sludge is the possibility Loki may be in it.
>>
>>155402134
Wanda isn’t traumatized, she doesn’t have a sad backstory she’s literally a monsterous, selfish evil narcissistic whore who was born evil and hurts people for fun, Wanda deserves torture and death.
>>
>>155404968
That seems a little mean.
>>
>>155405020
No it doesn’t, it’s true. I think most people agree. Wanda is an irredeemable monster who was born evil and no matter what universe, will always be a fucking monster.

I honestly cannot care about yet another MCU series about a plain clothes normal guy doing normal guy shit with a villain that is also a plain clothes normal guy.

If they want to write normal shit just go write some fucking normal shit. But quit making normal shit and claim it's REALLY a superhero show somewhere under the surface.
>>
>>155403933
The only good thing that came from Cassie dying was that it lead to Doom getting BTFO later by Scott. But her death was pretty pointless since she was quickly revived.
>>
>>155402097
that guy they hire to be Wiccan....is so ugly goddamit
