>Marvel: DC is dominating us in sales. What should be do? I KNOW! Let's keep making fans mad! That's engagement!
>>
>>155403658
Thank you Brevoort.
Anymore brilliant ideas like that QR code for the last page banger?
>>
>>155403671
we can make our collected editions really really hard to get!

>Fighting over the final scraps of a dying market
Congrats to DC for being King of the Retards I guess
>>
>>155403723
DC is clawing some of it back, but whether those new readers translate onto other lines and become regulars is anyones guess.
>>
>>155403939
When marvel had a slight edge again recently I didn't expect them to fall back again so hard.
>>
>>155404522
Look at #1000 for ASM, you look at the preview and it's no wonder it's going to be outsold by your average Absolute Batman.
>>
>>155403723
It doesn't have to die if they keep making good stories people will tune in eventually. The medium isn't doomed and manga should show them this not be what kills them but what inspired them to keep trying.
>>
>>155403723
>of a dying market
I like to think of it as "surviving".
>>
>>155404564
Okay sure but ASM 1000 gave a tiny boost and then we bounce to this?! What even came out recently?
>>
>>155404600
Thank you best boy.
>>
>>155404573
It won't die but it will continue to rot on Marvel's side until they get rid of the Hydra of Didio's that have ruled there for decades.
Look at how swiftly DC rebirthed (ha) itself once it was no longer serving Didio's bizarre bugbears and hang-ups against the audience demand.
>>
>>155403658
So when does "Big 2" become "Big 3"? I mean look how big Image's market share is
>>
>>155405793
Image was always a bear third. I'm surprised Dynamites place though. I'd figure Dark Horse to be higher.
>>
>>155403658
and both are still much worse than 10 years ago.
>>
>>155404600
>I'm a survivor, we're a dying breed.
>>
>>155406263
>and both are still much worse than 10 years ago.
>North American comic book sales only were $1.03 billion in 2015 and $1.085 billion in 2016
>North American comic book sales were $2.2 billion in 2025

"Comics are Dead" grifters are dying faster than comics are
>>
>>155406596
All those money are there and yet both of them are still getting evicted from Manhattan. Makes you think.
>>
>>155406641
Manhattan is a ripoff
>>
>>155406596
That adjusted for inflation?
>>
>>155406768
1.085 billion in 2016 money is 1.5 billion in 2026 money
>>
>>155406596
>>North American comic book sales were $2.2 billion in 2025
Is that including manga? Just asking since they are just Japanese comic books.
>>
>>155403658
I don’t really understand this current obsession over constantly crying and hyperventilating that Marvel is no longer number one at sales.
>>
>>155403658
What type of IPs Image Comics have? Also damn at Dark Horse being that low.
>>
>>155406876
>Also damn at Dark Horse being that low.
Losing the Star Wars, Alien and Predator licenses the last few years after all the Di$ney buyouts has really hurt them.
>>
>>155406641
More a commentary on Manhattan anon, Disney is consolidating to an equally expensive place.
>>
>>155406871
Most are celebrating, hoping something anything helps dislodge the thirty year old warty hogs at the top.
>>
>>155404600
it's actually growing, but comicsgaters are credulous retards, so they're convinced it's all vanished, and somehow more investment into more books and more issues for books (happening surprisingly often in DC lately) means comics are dying and they're 'desperate' (the opposite would be happening as they'd be in cost cutting mode)

the one dying is Marvel. the big headline for that week was DC, but look at that chart - DC, Image, and the other indies are ALL eating Marvel's lunch.
>>
>>155404522
Wait, this is the actual fallout after they won back some of the market share? I thought this graph >>155403658 was an exaggeration.
>>
>>155406876
What does Dark Horse even have anymore? Hellboy? I know they've got a bunch of manga but I wouldn't think that be counted among these numbers.
>>
>>155407042
How is that a commentary on Manhattan when DC would still be staying in Burbank if Warner Bros gets bought out? DC also used to be in Manhattan, did it?
>>
>>155406667
>doesn't elaborate
>>
>>155407128
DC left New York literally a decade ago, anon
>>
>>155407077
the chart is only for one week, and those can swing a bit wildly, but it's the literal chart. it's not an exaggeration.
>>
>>155407178
The point is that even after multiple consolidations, both of the IPs would still be headquartered in Burbank. There is nothing to comment on Manhattan since you don't know what it could do to drag them back.
>>
>>155407197
>the chart is only for one week
Oh, ok. That makes sense then. Guess that Spider-Man issue didn't pan out as well as Marvel may have hoped. I also thought that Mangaverse was supposed to have come out last week.
>>
>>155403658
I don't care I still prefer Marvel.
>>
>>155407758
And Marvel still hates you.
>>
>>155403658
no IDW? or is that just another name for image comics?
>>
>>155404633
You have Didio derangement syndrome.
>>
>>155403939
I only read the Absolute line, and not just out of DC's lineup but out of all modern western comics in general. Once they end Absolute, I probably won't bother with anything else DC. I have zero interest in the mainline comics for practically any hero in their roster and the decades upon decades of convoluted bullshit and status quo changes involved with that. Many people I've talked to feel much the same, so I don't know if DC has made many DC loyalists with their latest moves as much as they've made Absolute loyalists.
>>
>>155403658
I asked a Marvel insider about this and to sum it up they basically said it doesn’t matter as the video games, merch, Disney plus material, and park stuff are doing great.
The comics sales don’t matter.
>>
>>155410563
Based Marvel dabbing on the haters.
>>
>>155406596
lmao characters are allowed to have boobs again and sales go up
>>
>>155410563
Sure but the modern Marvel comic books are terrible and would be terrible for an adaptation, so heavy is the incomprehensible event spam. It's by far the weakest limb in the IP, whilst with DC humorously it's among the strongest.
>>
>>155407204
i wasn't even the anon you were replying to, but the actual comment on Manhattan is that it drove more than just comic headquarters away. apparently you're too dense to recognize why even fintech is moving headquarters out of New York, for decades now.
>>
>>155410563
yes, they are neglecting their actual IP factory. they've been moving this way since the MCU, honestly
