If adjacent series count, my favorite is Moore's Captain Britain.

Obviously the Claremont run is the best. I couldn't stand it for a long time after he left. So I guess my least favorite would be Lobdell? There are probably worse than him out there but I haven't really read any of the modern stuff

lobdell was basically claremont's run in the way byrne mocked- personal, silent issues, and plenty of tearjerkers.

claremont
age of apocalypse 90s
matt fraction/kieron gillen era

everything after bendis arrive. EVERYTHING.

90s and 00s
80s was the Calremont's faggotry
10s was Marvel trying to murder Xmen
20s are just bland and shitty in general
90s was an age of amazing toy'esque and sexualized aesthetic, macho men and straightforward heroic stories
00s was and era of serious and pretty well writen stories
also Jean being dead is objectively on of the best things that happend to XMen
she hamstrings this setting and stories with Phoenix faggotry and stronk woman bitch attitude

While the first Claremont run is the best, he’s actually the worst for an evergreen team, because his plots and roster kept changing. That’s great to get interest and popularity in the comic but for the #1 cross media franchise, it’s a hindrance because there’s no room to breathe.

The iconic Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Colossus, Nightcrawler and Kitty roster is in reality is very minuscule in the actual comics. Yet this was THE roster for evergreen adaptations copied for a good while.

Calremont run was the one that focused too much of Storm and Wolverine, introduce godawful triangle and turned JeanPhoenix into an absolute cancer for the rest of the story.
Couple of good stories do not compensate the long term damage he did to the franchise.
Praising him or calling his run the best is a sign of low IQ sheep.
