He's a soldier.The biggest difference is that the DCAU John only seems to use his ring to make simple shapes and beams. Can't think of a time when he made a big fist or anything. I always thought this was an indication that he was a more disciplined green lantern. He lost touch with his humanity after years of space adventures and doesn't waste effort by making familiar human objects anymore.I'm told that the comic version is the opposite. He constructs intricate devices and structures that utilize real engineering principles instead of just solid green shapes.
