I think you can, but only watch the first 100 episodes or so.

It's absolutely true that there's a sharp decline in quality from season 4 onward but the first three are still undeniable classics and very much hold up. If anything it's kind of in "popular but underrated" category for me, in that everyone generally loves it but it really doesn't get appreciated enough for how funny and clever and smart and all-around perfect it can be. It just declined so much after a certain point that everybody above a certain age just writes it off as brainrot. Doesn't help that many critics tend to be subtly pretentious and don't give enough praise to comedic cartoons that aren't Looney Tunes or The Simpsons because they still see animation as something that needs to "prove" itself somehow.

I forgot to tell about the order
Start with Help Wanted, then watch Tea at the Treedome, then Plankton!, Boating School, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, Squeaky Boots, Scaredy Pants (all season 1) and then you can watch the rest in whatever order more or less
