I saw this in theaters over the weekend. The english dub had a limited release over Labor Day weekend. I think its already gone from theaters, it was more like a fathom event style thing.It is VERY Chinese. this is very clearly a chinese production that licenses Tom and Jerry from WB. Tom works as a nightguard at a museum with a Chinese artifacts exhibit, there's a compass that's magic. Chase hijinks happen with Tom and Jerry, they activate the compass and get sucked into a magical Chinese mythology land.I don't know the names of the myths but its magical characters from Chinese folklore. Tom and Jerry and help them fight the bad guys. There's a female cat kung fu gal that Tom crushes on. Its for kids. It has the same stupid jokes that all kid movies have. T&J aren't necessarily sidelined but they're comic relief for the main characters. Its like their Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes, direct to dvd movies. The chinese production does have an actual reverence for Tom and Jerry. Its better than the Chloe Moretz movie. They don't talk. Some of the cgi sequences look great, some are too busy. there's random cutaway joke gags that come out of nowhere. its 90 minutes.i wanted to see it bc i was curious. i knew exactly what it was going to be. if you watch this, you should know what you're getting
