Why was he the bad guy in the Goofy Movie documentary? Everything he suggested ended up being right.
>>155432185The way he's portrayed, he still has incrementally more integrity and care for storytelling than Disney does today. Katzenberg's big mistake was wanting to replace Goofy's voice because he had his own idea for the project. But he respectfully went back on it after seeing what that change looked like in practice. Then in his own studio, he introduced celebrity voice acting in a way that worked. Which is really ironic, considering Disney now has absolutely no qualms with "reimagining" their own work in ways that jeopardizes their art.

>>155432185i’ve always thought it was very interesting that they gave the okay for the artists to depict him as this ugly sniveling dick. is there a shortlist of former disney employees that current employees are allowed to openly disparage? i don’t like the guy or anything i just thought it was a little funny for such a squeaky-clean company.
