Never take this Seriously nor canon.

The implication that Amazo and Amazo II wouldn't just undo all of this shit is really funny. MF really thought they were cooking.
>>

It will forever exist in the minds of the TTG writers. And these writers, so gracious they are as to not even charge TT03 rent!

What were the writers thinking?
>Let’s take this version of the DC Universe, which is only four years old and has only seven movies at this point, and just kill everyone off and end the whole continuity with a wet fart. Hell, better yet, let’s rope in other continuities as well, and ruin any satisfying endings they might have originally had. Then kill them off with no fanfare. Yeah, I’m sure the fans are going to love that.

What a crock of shit.
>>
>>155492966
Because no one likes this shitty fanfiction that's a bad adaption of a great story. There's a difference between a mass restructuring to unify everything, and saying all your favorite shows are dead to fit in with a movie that has nothing to do with them.
>>
>>155491298
Seems fitting since the guy that made this universe work is dead.

Merger I believe affected both endings

That movie was bullshit & using it's own multiverse. It makes no sense otherwise.

This tower has always angered me. It feels like they think they are a big deal. The theme song was extremely annoying as well.

Cleary not because My Adventures with Superman is the new Earth-12 while the DCAU got shifted to a unclear different number.

If only they destroyed the teen titans go universe instead
>>
>>155491298
Crazy that you think this movie affected any actual continuity outside of their shitty movie universe. Despite the movie ending with only one universe, there are still different DC animated universes out there. So this movie only did that "check out this cool cameo of this nostalgic thing before we erase it" bit.

>Because no one likes this shitty fanfiction that's a bad adaption of a great story.
The movie was shit, but the truth is that it was better than the original comic.

CoIE is an extremely important comic, the only comic more important for DC would be Action #1, BUT the truth is that as a story, it kind of sucks.
>>
>>155496241
That's the thing about TT03. Most people only remember:
>Robin telling Slade he already has a father as bats fly by
>The two Red X episodes
>The episode where Terra dies
>The paranoid Robin episode
>The Trigon episodes
>A Mad Mod episode (they're all the same)
>The last episode
>Maybe the one where they wear Robin's costume or the Starfire Confronts Racism episode

It's how they tricked themselves into thinking the series was serious and grounded 100% of the time and not 40% stilled weeaboo-baiting and 50% watered down versions of New Teen Titans stories.
>>
>>155497830
This. They failed to actually do anything with this. If they had actually made a real united animated continuity after this that was a genuine mix of all the previous animated series and movies (you know; the whole point of CoIE), that would be different. But they didn't.

Literally no one but the knuckle-dragging troglodytes writing TTGO ever believed that TT03 was all that serious. Part of it's appeal was precisely because it was able to be goofy without resorting to infantile slop like GO, while ALSO having its serious episodes. It was a well balanced show, something that's practically a unicorn these days.

Hell, we already HAD a "100 percent super serious TT show" with Young Justice and Titans 2018, and people generally don't care for either.
>>
>>155500623
All TT03 fans ever talked about during the first couple of seasons of TTGo was how their show was so sophisticated and serious. That's the main reason WHY TTGo made fun of it like that.

They erased the universe of Batman: The Animated Series (1992).
The entire shit was a middle finger to 1990s/2000s.
>>
>>155493198
Real talk for a sec, /co/: what compels one to care about "the end" of a fictional continuity?

I remember watching Teen Titans 20 years ago and enjoying it. It functionally ended for me in 2006 when, y'know, the the last episode aired. The story was over.

Why does it matter if some sequel show or writer later says, "Oh and that universe blew up. And Poochie died on his way back to his home planet"

Not trying to start shit, just trying to understand. I watch cartoons more than I read comics so maybe that's a factor.

No hyperbole. The Crisis on Infinite Earths trilogy might take the prize as the worst superhero movies ever made for me.

>Titans 2018
probably the worst capeshit show in recent memory
incredible costumes though, even Nightwing who was shittier than the other ones

>what compels one to care about "the end" of a fictional continuity?

You have missed a greater conundrum: what compels a person to care about fiction at all?
>>
>>155503959
People get invested in a fictional work and care about the characters and world that story built, it's not hard to understand. It's not like anyone's grieving like they lost a loved one but it does bring feelings of disgust when they're handled so poorly.
>>
>>155500623
young justice issue is not the tone its the story incoherently resetting or skipping per season and no central main actual cast it commits to
>>
Hardly remember watching these gay ass movies.

And that's a good thing.
>>
Good. That's what '03 Robin gets for not giving Beast Boy a chance to kiss Starfire. Besides, Derrick J Wyatt is dead so Teen titans go is, and always has, the closest you will ever get to a Teen Tians revive.
>>
>>155500767
Someone being considered 'comparatively sophisticated' when contrasted beside an actual retard as the measure is a very reasonable position.
>>155503959
I pretty recently watched Teen Titans with my young daughters. I imagine someone would care in this instance based on a trash product staking any claim to being a continuation of the story while not respecting the world building, quality and tone of the original to which the product is attaching itself.
I loved Batman Beyond. The JL ep that closes out Terry's story felt so trash watching it immediately after the series.
>>
>>155505554
Also, Gotham Knights on CW had more coherent writing than Titans. Let that sink in.
>>
>>155503959
>Company: "hey remember that thing you liked? That old thing? I just took a shit on it lmao! Cause I hate it and it wasn't gay enough!
>Retarded Anon: "anons anons, wait, why do you care?"
I mean, Retarded Anon, I don't care enough to go punch the guy that did it, but I don't like that they did it and I did find it insulting when I witnessed it. If you weren't Retarded Anon, maybe you'd get it too.
>>
>>155491298

Thank the Lord God, that show was highly satanic because it had preteen girls dressed like WHORES
>>
>>155503523
I wonder how they'll retcon it when they inevitably do a Countdown movie
Besides the obvious of SBP punching reality, of course
>>
Wrong.
From DCs own mouth:

>>
>>155511184
You expect /co/ to do its research?
>>
It wasn't.
>>
>>155491298
The Crisis on Infinite Earths movies fucked up a golden oportunity of actually using the characters of the different animated shows, instead of just doing a poor comic adaptation.
>>
>>155505698
I don't think that's a greater conundrum. Caring about stories themselves makes sense. Stories have meaning and speak to our values, challenge our beliefs, yada yada.

Caring specifically about continuity/canon is a totally different thing
>>
>>155493198
That's a long comic tradition.
>>
>>155505720
Lol the f4g is not replying to you since you're right.
>>
>>155512274
Who was that written by? You cropped out the author.
>>
>>155503959
My issue isn't people getting upset. It's people accepting a shit strait to streaming movie as canon without question. Like that's the great thing about media. You can pick a choose which you consume and care to take seriously.
>>
>>155512403
Alex Jaffe wrote the column, but if you actually read the text in the image, the comment (the part that's in the italics) was made by Jim Krieg, the screenwriter of the movie where all of these universes get "destroyed".

>Gotham Knights on CW had more coherent writing than Titans.
Oh bud I haven't even watched that one and I know for a fact that this is true
Titans felt like the writers were middle schoolers, they absolutely did not know what the fuck they were doing, it was insane
>>
>>155491298
What a stupid fucking movie series. How hard was it to just animated the original COIE?
>>
>>155516722
Everyone involved probably realized that most of the original story doesn't make sense to anyone in the 21st Century, so they wanted to modernize it. Then someone got the wild idea to make it about the various DC animates series getting Crisis'd.
>>
>>155512487
It's an excuse for the Zero Hour adaptation to erase them for real
The next movies after Knightfall will be Death Of Superman and Reign Of The Supermen
>>
>>155514839
I just remember YouTubers like BobaTalks would simp for Titans and defend the writing but couldn't handle shows like Legends of Tomorrow or Black Lightning.
>>
>>155491298
Don’t worry, they can bring it back
>>
>>155516803
Honestly I just read the OG COIE for the first time, I don't have a ton of reference for the DC universe but the story mostly made sense to me. The only stuff that didn't really make much sense was the back and forth stuff with Harbinger and whatever her alternate form was, it felt very messy. Dr Light also felt very shoehorned. Everything else worked, the Twin monitors were compelling characters, the big super deaths were good, the twist about the beginning of time was cool.
>>
>>155516974
COIE is 70% characters most people aren't familiar with.
>>
>>155516990
It still works as a story. I'm just saying, as a relative comics newbie I was able to enjoy it.
>>
>>155512347
Funny how this ended up being non canon on account of misunderstanding Amazing Friends
That series did NOT censor the word Death and they even had an episode discussing the Holocaust.
>>
>>155512274
>Honestly we did for the shock value, but we can take it back any time we want.
Truly the quintessential comicbook ethos.
>>
>>155503959
It depends really. People get invested personally in the characters. That's a good thing
There are examples like Jaws where the sequels destroy the characters and their world to such an extreme that fans can't consider it canon
>>
>>155512274
That is an obvious retcon made after the backlash. Also the fact that they're so passive aggressive about it only conforms they 100 percent intended to wipe out the DCAU and got pissy about people not liking that.
