‘FORGOTTEN ISLAND’ is tracking for a $15M domestic opening weekend.

Skinny nerdy one > doggo boi >>>>>fat one

raissa is best dreamworks girl
>>
>>155494865
>Buddy more profitable than forgotten island
How?
>>
>>155494865
Is this AI?
>>
>>155494865
The Filiprimos meme will carry it when it releases in LATAM.
>>
>>155494865
>Generic canid
Get ready for every furry ever to be drooling over that thing for the next 30 years.
>>
>>155494865
That's terrible but not surprising.

Genuinly, who was this for?
>Mitchells v Machines millennial humor
>half-shaven girl boss hair from the late 2010s
>furry baiting
>fart jokes and WACKY animation
>going to college plot

They were trying to appeal to millennials with the EPIC LOL humor, but millennials aren't in in the college stage of life. The humor is too juvenile for high school/college aged people. And little kids aren't going to relate with the college process. They were trying to appeal too to many brackets, and nothing landed.
>>
>>155495397
STFU there’s a plot reason for her hair and it’s not girl bossing
>>
>>155495285
Buddy is wholly on point
This is a trip into the mental illness of industry animators
>>
>>155495531
Rich coming from you of all people

She has nice feet at least
>>
>>155495397
It's another movie made for the director & their friends. Not actual audiences.
>>
>>155495397
Asian-Americans, like every fucking animated movie now
>>
>>155494865
They really should’ve hooked the Last Wish animators on Kung Fu Panda or HTTYD instead, shit would’ve been cash
>>
>>155495397
>an animated coming-of-age movie with millennial humor
Did they think college-bound teens are going to want to watch an animated movies with their parents? That'd be hilarious

>>155495531
You are the most mentally ill faggot on this site and that is an impressive feat
>>
>>155495397
>>155495770
Neither of you have even seen the movie. Shut the hell up.
I’ve seen it and it’s great.

if jews control the media how was this bit about jesus that isn't negative nor mocking allowed into the movie then
>>
>>155495901
They even went out of their way to make sure the Jesus picture miraculously wasn’t burned or covered in pig splatter, this is how you know nobody in charge of this movie was a Jew
>>
>>155494865
/co/tards will give you every /co/tarded cope reason to explain the projected15m (it will be higher than 15m btw) when the actual mentally stable reason is just because the marketing has been non existent

/co/ hates everything that isn’t a preschool cartoon or Pixar

>>
>>155495880
You like shitty movies.
>>
>>155495994
Both those things are bullshit. The marketing's been in theaters & online through twitter or Amazon. The humor is extremely childish. By your logic, anons should love this.
>>
>>155496017
Like I said, you haven’t even seen the movie you faggot.
>>
>>155496057
I've seen enough from the trailers & hate it. That's why trailers exist.

WHERE?
>>
>>155496034
>twitter or amazon
Who the fuck still uses twitter and wtf do you mean by marketing on Amazon are you retarded
>the humor is extremely childish
The majority of it actually isn’t, not that you give a fuck about giving an animated movie that isn’t a preschool cartoon or Pixar an actual fair chance
>>
>>155495531
Kys guy
>>
>>155496090
You do realize the team that cuts trailers and the team that actually makes the movie are completely different people right
>>
>>155494865
Is that good for an original animated film?
>>
I love these two like you wouldn’t believe
>>
>>155496173
no but it’s probably not true anyway

>>
>>155494865
If you want to sell something kike this the first question you should ask is whats the appeal to general audiences. What is it for this shit?
>>
>>155495901
>>155495931
You're allowed to show pro-Christian stuff if it's from a foreign culture that's heavily Christian. Latin America, or, in this case, The Philippines. You need to look at things from the perspective of a Californian seething at the idea of a redneck from Tennessee going on about praising Jesus.
>>
>>155495515
>There's a convenient plot reason for this thing that's gay and retarded.
ok
>>
>>155494865

This movie is highly satanic because it is CATHOLIC and portrays pagan deities. It's like they want to offend good little christians
>>
>>155494865
I only saw the trailer for this and I was mildly interested until the gay ass dog thing showed up. I don't wanna watch some fags fursona.
>>
>>155494865
I want all American movies to fail, but it’s probably a good thing that the Philippines is getting better coverage in the American media.
>>
>>155494865
I watch a lot of movies in theater and there hasn't been much advertising for this. Per early reports it is apparently pretty good but IMO it seems like it wasn't connecting with audiences when the first teasers released and Dreamworks lost faith and so isn't promoting it very much.

If I had to take a gander as to why it isn't connecting with audiences comes down to a combination of trailer, art style and concept.
>trailer (most recent)
it was too long, very high energy, super fast paced, and that can read as childish which is at odds with the age of the characters and the theme it is trying to express. I agree with >>155495397 that the humor can seem both too dated and too childish for broad appeal.
>art style
it's going for something inspired by Spiderverse but it works for Spiderverse because Spiderverse is *cool* while this doesn't come across as cool, it just comes across like riding on the aesthetic's coat tails. So it might have worked better with a more conventional 3dcg art style. Probably would have helped to have two conventionally attractive leads as well.
>concept
When written out the basic concept of two friends trying to get home after getting isekaied isn't that bad but the trailer complicates it too much with the memory and the demon and the furry it just comes across like it's going to be a very unfocused film. While I personally dig the idea of a friendship oriented film this probably would have been more appealing if it was about a girl and a boy. Even if the film was fully platonic a lot of people would have enjoyed having a male presence that wasn't annoying like the dogboy and many would have liked to interpret the bond romantically, a story about potential childhood sweethearts being forced apart is rather unique.

I think the first trailer was better.
>>
>>155497660
>it just comes across like riding on the aesthetic's coat tails.
It all started with a sequel to a spinoff of a movie franchise that's loosely based off a book. I thought it was desperate then, but a lot of people really seemed to like it for some reason.
>>
>>155495901
>>155495931
when are you going to realize they push their own opposition so that them asses will assume "juice hates crosses, therefore crosses must be true & legit". no, they imported it, wiped out your real true history, eradicated your original spirituality, shoehorned this fake shepherd shit into your culture, then act like they're opposed to it. oldest trick in the book.
>>
>>155497675
I liked it better in Puss. I felt a sense of sensory overload watching the trailer, it's like they were just doing too much. I get *why*, artists don't want to continue aping the same thing exactly they want to put their own spin on things. But the visuals felt super frenetic, they were trying really hard to one-up Puss and Spidey's signature look. I wanted to like the trailer more than I did and look forward to this more than I do. I like taking my mom to see animated films because she doesn't have the stomach for anything too mean spirited or violent; she liked Sheep Detectives, she liked Puss in Boots and Zootopia and loved Hoppers ... but I don't think I will take her to see this. I dunno I just don't think she'll like it. And my younger nephews and nieces would probably find it cringe or childish. If the reviews are good I might go see it myself but I can't think of anyone else in my life who would enjoy seeing this with me which feels bad to say.
>>
I feel they've done an awful job of advertising it and making people know it's actually out. The release just felt like it suddenly happened.
>>
>>155497798
>it's actually out.
It's not though? It's supposed to come out next Friday.
>>
>>155494865

Furries need to realize that most people find their hideous anthro dog men repulsive. You get away with it in the context a cartoon animal film like Robin Hood, Bad Guys, or Zootopia, where the furry blends well into an overall art style. But when you have a disgusting furry that might well be someone's diaperfur twitter avatar contrasted with human characters, people see the furshit for what it is and definitely won't expose their children to it.
>>
>>155497798
The movie is not out yet dummy. This is a called a projected box office.
>>
>>155497900
Most furries find the dog repulsive and the rest are not touching him because of the age controversy
This has entirely failed as a furry film
>>
Can you retards calm the fuck down and stop assuming a trailer is the exact same thing as a movie? How fucking old are you people?

Literally almost every review I’ve seen of this movie so far is raving about it and there are already hundreds of reviews across multiple platforms, maybe you people should chill the fuck out and actually watch a movie before you act like you’ve already seen it
>>
>>155498482
There are some dogshit delusional retarded “criticisms” of this movie in this thread but this has to be the most retarded and out of touch of all

They also like current thing music but also something retro oh my God how unique and special and do they have a not lesbian romance. Quick have a dance off and play some terrible music and don't forget about generic Asian culture. It's ramen it's so delicious it's generic foods substitute for creativity number 1682. Oh and the fourth wall needs to be broken why reasons who can forget the sad part when she has to make a decision that affects her and her friends and grow up. But it all ends well wacky music time

The most cultural relevancy Filiprimos have had since The Nut Shack.

Let's face the facts, having their biggest representation be The Nut Shack was basically a hate crime. They need this movie.

they already have been doing that for a few months

Ah yes, the secret Jewish plot to create a religion that would be completely detached from and hostile towards traditional Judaism for 2000 years, so they could seize power specifically in 20th century America by taking advantage of an extremely specific set of cultural, economical, political, and theological conditions that they were also obviously responsible for organizing several thousand years in advance. Brilliant.

Positive Christian rep is only allowed if it involves brown people. Same reason why Islam can't never be portrayed in a bad light.
>>
>>155495901
You do realize one of the major factors keeping the state of Israel alive today is that billions of Christfags believe it's existence is a prerequisite for Christ's return, yes? Hell, there's actual Christian Zionists out there doing thier damndest to get every single Jew on Earth over to the physical area that is Israel so that prophecy can be fulfilled and they can kickstart Armageddon. Christians are unironically the Jews biggest ally
>>
>>155499175
Muslims should be their ally too since all 3 religions come from the same Abrahamic family.
>>
>>155499175
You do realize Jews have never needed to pander to evangelitards in any way whatsoever to maintain their unyielding support and so this critique is completely irrelevant to any reasoning a Hollywood film might have for including a positive or at the very least completely neutral representation of Jesus Christ in a children’s film
>>
>>155499175
>You do realize one of the major factors keeping the state of Israel alive today is that billions of Christfags believe it's existence is a prerequisite for Christ's return, yes?
Anon....dispensationalism is almost exclusively isolated within American evangelicalism. There are not billions of people supporting this, you're conflating Christianity as a whole with a fringe belief system that gained popularity in real America in the mid 1800s.

>including a positive or at the very least completely neutral representation of Jesus Christ in a children’s film
You honestly think a major motion picture studio of any kind would go out of it's way to depict the proclaimed Lord and Savior of a large portion of the human race as someone to be feared and reviled, anon? What, pray tell, would be the reasoning behind such a decision?
>>
>>155499273
What in the actual fuck are you talking about did you respond to the wrong post
>>
>>155499295
The reasoning is because both of the directors and the producer are all gentiles who were very likely raised in Christian households. The reason the executives didn’t cut it (although I’m certain they must have discussed that) is because one of the directors is a Filipino and the other is married to a Filipina and they probably just vouched for the fact that this would be a funny and relatable cultural reference for filipinos and so the executives gave it a pass. It’s really not that deep.

No, your declaration against a positive depiction of Jesus Christ in a children's film infers that there should be a negative one somewhere to balance things out. And again I ask, what sane filmmaker would actually consider that a viable option to persue?
>>
>>155499362
I think you’re getting lost in the sauce here, I’m not “against” a positive representation of Jesus, on the contrary i thinks it’s refreshing and the joke is actually pretty funny and original. The closest any recent major animated kids movie I can think of to referencing Jesus is the boss baby and that barely even counts. If there was some nefarious conspiracy for them including Jesus just to pander to evangelicals then why is this the only movie that does so? And why not do it in a more guaranteed to be popular movie like Toy Story 5?
