Cause Miracleman was out of print for an extremely long time and then when they finally reprinted the Moore run people didn't notice because all the Marvel people could talk about was MCU or how bad Marvel's comics were getting or the Secret Wars event (the Miracleman #15 reprint was published early 2015)

Miracleman was available online but there was no active discussion in the same way as the other three, because there was no reason for anyone to go looking for it unless they wanted to read a lost comic from Alan Moore. Hell, keep in mind Watchmen was massively popular in 2009 and even though there was the announcement of Marvel buying Marvelman/Miracleman that same year, even though Miracleman was available online at this point, it didn't seem like there was much discussion about Moore's Miracleman on this board to the same extent

1. Miracleman’s kinda Haute Couture amongst comics to begin with
2. “Batman but Asshole” and “Superman but Psycho” are easier badass edge symbols than “Little Boy turns into Grown Up and wants to knock over blocks”. Can’t brag about how cool the little boy is for being psycho
3. “Kid Miracleman” isn’t a very badass name either. Creepy yes, Badass no.
4. KM’s very gorey and rapey and torturous, which is more gross than cool. He made a “coral reef of baby skulls” and mushed children’s bodies into a giant worm of meat and made a chessboard of women’s tits and hangs people nude from barbed wire, and in extra media he rapes people. Plutonian’s a weirdo too but the closest he ever got to the line was making people fuck eachother for his porn. Otherwise he’s a cool flying brick. KM’s just a horrible frothing sadist.
5.The last point I feel is true because the only popular moment people share of KM is pic rel, which is kinda funny kinda badass. The rest is just goreporn.

there was a chapter they did in Miracleman Apocrypha, where they explored the "Miraclemen can see humans frozen in time" idea.
Bates as a Kid stayed with a man who'd been accelerated to superspeed, and was living out his whole life in frozen time. Had no choice but to stay with him, if he slowed down to ask for help the guy would die instantly.
When he finally died, Miracleman arrived too late after it was already over.
Didn't occur to me till now that was probably a parallel to this. Got it in his head how humans can snuff out in an instant, like they never happened.

They did latch onto him but Kid Miracleman is basically insanely hard to do anything with since he's so OP that you can't use him except very sparingly.

I've mentioned that the best way to use him is just retcon the Moore version as a robot created by Mojo and have him be, like Spiral, a villain you use only sparingly.

This. Johnny wasn't even a POV character, it was like 3 and a half issues.

Its unfortunate that we're not going to get Dark Ages, Gaiman's Silver Age kinda implied that Kid Miracleman was still hanging around and could talk to Dicky Dauntless in his mind, until Dicky figured out how to banish him.
KM acting as the serpent, teaching and tempting YM would have been pretty cool.

There's not much to the character itself so that's dumb, the entire appeal of Kid Miracleman is the writing itself as Moore effectively portrays him as a sadistic force of nature with his grandiose prose and shocking imagery. Take all that away and you don't have much to work with.

I feel like there was more story, but Moore was too pissed with the Marvel ordeal and just wanted to wrap it up. Book 3 could have probably been twice as long. I would have loved more Warpsmith shenanigans.

That's the thing really, KM is unabashedly taking pleasure in killing two of the big don't do's in fiction, kids and nice women(dogs and sweet old people are the other two). He's not really cool or glamorous in how he kills and there's no cathartic feeling like a Homelander gives people. He gets raped and that's a pretty bad look on him too.
