Like, the same rules between undertale and deltarune don't really apply. the Player/Protag relationship is different. You aren't "the soul" controlling and puppeting Frisk. But you also *are not* frisk. You are closer to being Chara themselves than "the soul". Chara is named after you after all, they are meant to be your analog, your vector through which you interact with the story, guiding Frisk in a more soft way then in deltarune. Chara only breaks free from you when you destroy reality, and they are all thats left, and then they speak to you alone. It's *extremely* vague and murky, and to some extent i think the vagueness was a writing quirk Toby wished to iron out with his next game, which is *why* in deltarune, theres no vague middle men, you are just the heart that controls the protag. This is all to say. Frisk is more of an independent actor than Kris is, and their actions under "our" control should be treated as such. Their will is malleable. Their determination is direct-able. Neutral. Which is why i still elect Time. Their will is to take things "to the end". Whether its a happy ending or a bad ending.

I'm smiling ear to ear reading this I love these fucking guys so much I genuinely just can not believe I lived over 2 decades of my life and no one ever bothered to tell me about the Midnight Crew this is just so good, every time Spades Slick is on screen the scene instantly turns both interesting and funny at the same time, same goes for the other members of the crew, I'm honestly a bit sad imagining how people were probably not as interested in these guys as I am when this was releasing, in a perfect world we'd have Midnight Crew tv shows and Midnight Crew movies and Midnight Crew novels, I just can not stop just being amazed by this.I feel like the main plot (teenagers hanging out having drama and saving the world from crazy people through game logic) being involved in all of this really adds to it too, like this guy exists in the same reality as Jade and Cronus, that's just beautiful to think about, and really makes the moments you get to spend with the Midnight Crew, be it them like this or as Derse citizens, all that greater.I also really like The Felt characterization I'm getting here, they felt a bit one-dimensional in the first intermission but I am liking Crowbar a lot here and the pincushion guy sole line of dialogue already gave him some extra character.I'll keep reading, I'm just so happy reading this It's so good these characters are awesome I hope Hussie knows that even if they aren't as populars as the humans or trolls (probably because they aren't sexy)
