TWO WEEKS UNTIL THE APOCALYPSE
PIN THIS
>>
Great. So the total amount of cartoons airing will be halved from its alresdy very low proportion.

Considering what this merger represents, I think the most appropriate cartoon mascot for this new company would be Invader Zim, a feeble minded wannabe destroyer of worlds.

Close enough. Welcome back The WB and UPN.

They’ll probably call it something bland like Channel of Animation or Funtime Channel

this could be an opportunity to play on this if they play their cards right
>>
>>155564474
Nickelodeon as well as most cartoons has been unwatchable crap for a while now.
There's only so many peak foid queer female lead starred cartoons for girls and boy aimed aka foid and queer filled 'inclusive' cartoons you can make before the entire thing falls apart.

GTA6 being exactly what everyone is afraid it will be is going to be the death of the western media market for the entire male half and much of the normie female aimed portion of the entertainment industry.
>>
>>155564474
Horrible, genuinly, but the DLC for nickleodeon all star brawl 3 is going to be insane.
>>
>>155564474
How long before Sony and Universal merge?
>>
Why is everyone so obsessed with merging?
>>
This wouldn't be a problem if Cartoon Network maintained a strong brand identity like it did in the 2000's. After Adventure Time, it started just being Nickelodeon's leftovers.
>>
>>155564982
Goku and Vegeta did it and every American company thought that was cool so they wanted to do it also
>>
>>155564474
I guess the war is over.
The only funny thing would be Adventure Time airing on Nicktoons.
>>
>>155564982
something something rich people buying/sliding their way into companies they know nothing about sucking them dry of money then trying to make more money
>>
>>155564866
It really would. Oldfags would pick up cable/tv again just see this combo. Would become a novelty after the first couple of weeks though.
>>
Who cares? Is there anyone who's actually expecting future media to be any good?
Give your hope, people. There's no good coming, from anyone.

But among the many bad things to come from this, this is the final nail for CN and will be its final hours
>>
>>155564474
Oh boy! Now Nicktoons can air SpongeBob and Teen Titans Go back to back!
>>
>>155564982
Less competition means less cartoons. They're probably both gonna be feeding of one singular animation budget.
Also Paramount has recently just been making dogshit decisions in general with their IPs and I doubt it'll get better. We're not Doubling in size. we're colluding to wholes into something more compact. There's no way we don't lose something in the merge.
>>
>>155564982
Something something private equity
>>
>>155564782
They should combine names again.

Call it Nicktoons Network
>>
>Everyone expects an epic crossover featuring the best the two channels have to offer
>it just ends up being the Spongebob Teen Titans Go! channel
>>
>>155565270
I'm pretty certain they're not going to let TTG live any longer past 2027 after the merger
>>
>>155564532
They no longer need to compete with each other.
>>
>>155565270
lol no
TTG is going down with a sinking ship and the Spongebob network is going to scavange for parts

At best you'll get Regular Show airing on Nick at Nite
>>
You know at this point I'm certain nothing will improve until we have total societal collapse driving us back to the stone age.
>>
>>155564474
All these old legacy networks from the cable TV days need to be culled. They do more harm than good for the american animation industry. They only produce the bare minimum they are contractually obligated to produce to stay on cable packages.
>>
>>155565307
It's no longer each other they have to worry about
>>
>>155565339
Without cable, animation would be entirely reliant on streaming, and there are no positive incentives there.
Parents who sign up for streaming services do not care about their kids getting to see good cartoons, they're perfectly happy with anything. So it's all IP tie ins like Camp Cretaceous (which was probably under contract), or preschool shows.
>>
So what the fuck can be actually expected out of this?
They're not gonna curate some of the networks most popular/liked shows from the past 2-3 decades and make several blocks for them, right? That was the first thing that came to mind, but then I realized we live in 2026 and nothing can be good.
>>
>>155565270
>Everyone expects an epic crossover featuring the best the two channels have to offer
Who would think that?
>>
>>155564982
Everything that didn't survive the transition to streaming will eventually fold or get consolidated
>>
>>155564474
Let me guess.
People are already hyping this up with unrealistic fantasies and they will all be eating their words once it all goes to poopy within a year.
Like what happened with the Microsoft buyouts.
>>
>>155565376

>>
>>155565270

>>
>>155564474

>>
>>155564982
It's the only thing the government WON'T regulate about your business, because it's the one thing the government SHOULD regulate about your business.
>>
>>155565360
The Teen Spongebob Go channel hasn't been about good cartoons for a while now.
>>
>>155564474
Setting up their own animation streaming service between the two would be enough to compete with Disney and Netflix in the animation department.
>>
>>155565444
Which one will win? Paramount+ or HBO Max?
>>
>>155564982
The people saying pursuit of profit are only half right. The rest is consolidation and control of multiple aspects of society under single corporations and their owners, so they can not only steer society as they see fit but make themselves virtually indestructible because if they collapse, the whole economy goes down with them. We're already living in the cyberpunk dystopia rule of the megacorps the government answers to rather than the other way around, it's just a lot less punk than we expected. Cyberslop would maybe be the more accurate term.
>>
>>155564474
We truly live at strange times, never in my life would have thought in the slightest cartoon network and nickelodeon would converge/be network brothers.
>>
>>155564982

After the kikes bought it it went down hill.
They started farming it for LLMS and pushing AI/jeetslop. Worse they started to deplatform and lower the money the content creators made and use their liknesses nad content for LLM content twitter itself makes.
There should be a massive lawsuit but the kikes are too strong.

The only real hope is for the chinks are reds to make a new short content video platform ala vines and ban AI slop.
>>
>>155564474

You poor naive stupid child.
Anon, money isn't real and it's not backed by anything.
The Fed printing trillions of...nothing that was backed by the US govermnment's power and america's resources should have told you that.
If you want to really see how little money actually means and how entirely broken and fake the economy is, look no further then the LLM hoax.
The market has folded entirely. The corpo-government has stopped pretending and it's now just a free for all of nonsense and shenanigans.
>>
>>155565535
You act like any of that means jackshit to the children watching it

Your average Tiktok gets more views than TTG does, and high TikToks and YT videos are talked about than the newest episodes of Spongebob
>>
>>155564474
Imagine seeing Cartoon Network shows and Nick shows together? It would be like mixing mint chocolate chip and orange juice.
>>
>>155564474
There's three ways I could see this going:
>The CN shows will get worse and adopt a lot of the grossout humor and low-brow themes that Nick has
>Nickelodeon will get better and try having more depth and linear stories like CN does
>The two elements will cancel out and future shows that aren't already established IPs will be super boring.
>>
>>155565599
>Sheldon strapped into the Give Up Machine while Jenny waits on prospective johns
>>
>>155565631
You don't understand do you?
Those views are all bots.
The numbers of views of any piece of content right now has absolutely NOTHING to do with how many human beings actually watched it.
Do you think mr.beast was actually getting billions of views or that the Paul brothers were getting tens of millions of views?

Wake the fuck up.
It's all rigged and has been for a very long goddamned time.

The day the entire toy industry decided to float and push the idea that toys don't sell and the loser whiny bitch "auteur" cartoonist complained about toy commercials was the day cartoons completely lost all ability to sustain itself as an artform forever.
>>

Why the fuck do you think this merger is happening? Because traditonal media as a whole has been on the decline and the old gaurd are losing money, and fast

This isn't two mega corps flexing their muscles, it's two mega crops in their death wails and one is going to eat the other alive to force itself to say alive just a little longer, with both taking bites.

They're halfway there already.

>>155565022
>>155566069
Modern CN and Nick don't have even a fraction of the soul they used to pull it off. Checkered Past was CN's attempt and it was an empty shell within a month, and while Nick Rewind fared better over the years, its only a shadow of what it used to be, let alone how Nick as a whole used to be.
>>
>>155566073
Other way around anon. We get a few CN reboots, about for the most part its scap to used for the fire on fueling Nickelodeon. Or do you really think Nick gives a fuck about Cow and Chicken and Billy and Mandy?
>>
>>155566147
I think they do a little, yeah. Consider that they have been winding down TLH for years, and all of their other shows have been shitcanned pretty quick. They have to know by now that they can't just run spongebob and paw patrol only and have it actually be profitable. I'm entirely certain they would lo-o-ove to have CN properties making money for them since they can't seem to think up anything that sticks anymore. I don't think they'll be doing much rebooting, just grab adventure time, TTG, Looney Tunes, MAYBE a DC show, that's probably it, and that'd be enough for them for another few years.

They're speed running this merger because major banks are failing to dump Oracle’s OpenAI debt. It's becoming increasingly obvious to everyone that Larry's going to be holding the bag when the AI bubble pops (and it seems the pop might happen sooner rather than later), and he's probably hoping to take down these media giants with him like some fucked up suicide pact.

The real question is the fallout from all of this. Will these companies just split off, but with all of their debt dumped onto the Ellisons? Either way, it's going to be a shitshow of historic proportions.
>>

>>
>>155566265
I love CN's classic catalog as much as the next guy, I really do. But it is not even a fraction as relevant or influential as Nick's, and I say that as someone who much pefers CNs.

Sure they might might toy witht the idea of reboots of some of the bigger more relevant names, your PPGs, your Ben 10s, your ATs, your Scooby Doos, your LTs, and DC. But the rest? Never to be touched again I would bet, mere streaming fodder at best.

You might get a few odd ducks here and there, namely Camp Lazlo and Chowder due to their connections to Nick already, and maybe Nick might do something with OTGW's seasonal popularity.

But I really doubt they'll make use of CN's catalog the way some people might think
>>
>>155566353
I can agree with that. I'm not sure Ben 10 will come back to be honest. The reboot was really, really lame, the comic was neat, but it's almost 30 years old and it was played out when omniverse had ben recreate the universe and vilgax run away from some fat alien redneck cunt.
