Kraven had a whole new meaning as the apex predator in a society that hates his kind but recognizes him. Bringing a non-Spiderman character to be the big villain was bold and interesting. And what a villain he was. Dr Moreau. Peter was an animal mutant in a world of even more animal mutants. And because superpowered humans were unheard of in that world at the time, it helped him hide. Venom and Carnage took some getting used to, especially visually. But they came off as creepy and insidious like they should. Like subversive cultists who were physically warped to match eachother like two fitting pieces. Plus Venom was longer a lolrundum comic relief and Carnage was no longer a lunatic serial killer hindered by the age rating. I didn't care for action hero Jameron though. Or the Green Goblin being a mexican chasing after his ex. He registered as Batmanuel from The Tick live series in my mind even though I was rooting for him for caring for his child even in his state.
