Why do they suck so much and get mogged by the avengers in every era? Please share your favorite eras/stories to try and change my mind.

Avengers is only better than Justice League on the technicality of including all the spinoffs like Ewing's New Avengers.the JLI eraGrant's JLAWaid's first runall fantastic

Mike Friedrich's run is overlooked. I particularly like issue 89, where he self-inserts as Harlan Ellison who's in love with Black Canary. He also created Starbreaker and the cosmic vampires whom Morrison would use to good effect later on. 70s Justice League was one of Morrison's childhood books, he took a lot of influence from it, reinterpreting those ideas in an overall more entertaining way.
