I decided to watch it with low expectations because of how much people shit on it, but I've noticed some things:>Korra is a flawed character, she is not perfect like Aang. She fails and learns how to overcome her mistakes, people call her a brat, but she was the perfect protagonist in book 4>The more mature tone is definitely a step up, it makes the threats seem more serious.>The jokes and characters are good, specially Tenzin and Kuvira>The animation is beautiful, the soundtrack is used at the right moments>Presents us with more lore about the Avatar, the Spirit World, and the abilities of benders.I admit, the love triangle thing was kinda weird, though.
>>155590056It ruined the spirit world and Korra fucking sucks and is a shit character.
>>155590056>Korra is a flawed character, she is not perfect like Aang. She was a hotheaded imbecile who made every situation worse, jobbed to every halfway competent opponent, and it took the length of the original series before she STARTED to grow out of it.
>>155590056Aang wasn't a perfect characterHe had several episodes showing that Op is a fag as always
>>155590078How did it ruin the spirit world? We barely saw it in The Last Airbender. And Korra was only a brat until, like, halfway through Season 2.
It's a pretty good show. /co/ is just full of autists who are still frothing with rage about mild retcons and shipping drama from 10 years ago.
>>155590101I think its more that there are several people around her that go "don't do that korra", korra does thing, consequences. That happened once a seasonWhen you have people telling you the correct thing but dont listen, you're the problem
>>155590114Spirit gates and VatuuUnnecessary point added for the sake of change
>>155590056Obnoxious main character.Characters who are either underwritten or annoying.Lopsided worldbuilding.Story arcs that fizzle out without any satisfying conclusions. No cohesion in the antagonists, every new threat is an unconnected villain of the week.Retcons that go against the original series and make the overall story of the franchise worse.
>>155590124Korra had to deal with way more complex situations than Aang. The Last Airbender was literally just about defeating the bad guy.And don't get me wrong, that's not a bad thing, I'm just pointing out the differences between the two protagonists
>>155590056lactose intolerance
>>155590115Nice cope
>>155590135>>155590154>Spirit gates and VatuuUnnecessary point added for the sake of change>Retcons that go against the original series and make the overall story of the franchise worse.Adding new things to the lore doesn’t make it worse, dumbass.
>>155590214>Hawk Man and Hawk Woman enter the chat
>>155590248That's something that has been established since this first show
Ultimately it was Aang's fault for giving her the avatar state. She should have died a failed avatar. What's worse than the line being broken are the fucking carpets ruining any mysticism.
>>155590214>Adding new things to the lore doesn’t make it worseIt does when they blow fucking ass.
>>155590114All the spirits in Korra look fucking lame and do not act otherworldly. Spirits were creepy and ominous back in the Last Airbender. Now they all look the same in stupid bright colors.
>>155590399>Spirits were creepy and ominous back in the Last Airbender. They were boring as fuck>Now they all look the same in stupid bright colors. No they don't
It was fucked from inception where they didn't plan for a proper 4-season long story and just wrote a bunch of mini-arcs with unsatisfying resolutions. They also don't know how to write teenagers vs the kids in Aang and just went for the most milquetoast relationship drama that added nothing to the characters. Also, Korra suffers from an issue I feel a lot of female protagonists do where they're written as overpowered yet somehow completely ineffectual jobbers and achieving basically nothing on their own until maybe the ending.
>>155590432Thanks for proving that they literally all look lame as fuck.
>>155590453Each antagonist forced Korra to grow past pure power. Amon took her bending, Unalaq broke her spiritually, Zaheer nearly killed her, Kuvira forced her to lead without being the strongest person in the room. The teenage drama is uneven, but it actually changes the characters. Korra’s arrogance gets checked, Mako’s indecision costs him, Asami becomes her equal. Compare that to Aang’s mostly static kid friendships. Korra loses repeatedly and hard. Calling her an ineffectual jobber ignores that the show is about her learning she can’t just punch every problem, which is the point of her arc.
>>155590056Just say you want to fuck her and stop pretending she’s a good character you fucking faggot.
>>155590536She literally gets to fucking end of series doing the same shit and having to be bailed out by other people.
When you got people like this hating it, why wonder why?
>>155591286Nice deflection
>>155590536>Each antagonist forced Korra to grow past pure power. Amon took her bendingLoL, Korra resets every season; she keeps doing the same shit over and over again, which is ridiculous. She never thinks anything through—she gets to the final season and says, "Guys, I know there’s no good reason to leave these evil portals created by Vaatu open, but my heart says we should leave them open."
I don't mind Korra herself. I just hate how retarded the writers for her show were. Especially connecting the spirit and human world shit. That was beyond retarded.
I can't tell if the Pele defending Korra are shills, retards or just going for easy bait
>>155591306>Nice deflectionNot at all.The majority of the Korra hate I've seen here, and a good bit elsewhere, are just rage boners from second and third hand reviews of youtube outrage merchants being outrageous for views. My screen cap is the majority of people on here, I've never watched it but I know it's bad. There's been a few actual discussions here about the show where the haters stayed away and real criticisms were discussed before the mods killed the thread. But it's mostly pointless shrieking like>>155590078>>155590356>>155590365>>155590810
>>155590078That's the gist of it.
>>155590114>How did it ruin the spirit world? It made the spirit world a parallel world/alternate earth instead of being a higher plane of existence.
>>155592387It was never a higher plane of existence, just a different realm. There were no souls of the dead there and it was never an afterlife.
>>155590056I can tell you why I hate it>previous avatars killed off by something that was not set up beforehand. We were told that if the avatar was killed int he avatar state the cycle would end, but lol actually if you separate the magical kite lady from the avatar they all die.>10,000 year avatar cycle. is too fucking short for all the statues of previous avatars we've seen>Toph becomes a cop, not because it fits her character, but rather because it fits her powers>Love quadrangle nonsense takes up too much plot for not a whole lot of payoff>Dark avatar is the most creatively bankrupt thing I can think of. And I did think of it in my terrible edgy avatar fanfiction i wrote as a teenager>Aang was a bad dad to everyone but tenzin for some reason>Giant kaiju fight for literally no discernible reason>Harmonic convergence creating airbenders again for no reasonI liked Season 3 a lot, but FUCK season 2.
>>155590056The premise itself was always going to be a rough sell to the Avatar fanbase. Back in the day nobody was thinking about the Avatar after Aang (though a few OCs did exist), everyone wanted to either see the gaang grown up or their kids. Don't get me wrong, nobody flew into a rage when LOK was announced, but it's pretty rare for a western animated franchise to go "congratulations, your favorites are dead, here's the new guy".>Korra is a flawed character, she is not perfect like Aang. She fails and learns how to overcome her mistakes, people call her a brat, but she was the perfect protagonist in book 4The internet's a harsh mistress, and Korra's flaws were especially pronounced. The White Lotus screwing her over by keeping her locked up and only teaching her bending isn't really taken into consideration by fans. In fact the idea that the White Lotus could be so flawed is just another mark on the show's record. Though Korra does some stupid shit and people tend to be black and white when it comes to consequences. It didn't help that when writing Books 1 and 2 the team didn't know if the show would be renewed and so they'd have to leave Korra in a relatively good spot at the end of each Book until 3.>The more mature tone is definitely a step up, it makes the threats seem more serious.Yeah, kind of, although admittedly the solutions aren't really that good and the show never seems to be interested in tackling the issues that led to their antagonists gaining powers. Also as much as I do like Korra, I agree with the criticism that she simply loses too much. The aim here was probably meant to show that the Avatar isn't indestructible and that the Avatar State is no longer an automatic "I win" button, but all that really did was piss off fans and compare Korra to a 12-year-old who never really fought in his life before.
>>155592711>The jokes and characters are good, specially Tenzin and Kuvira50/50 on this, LOK had some good characters but I'd say most of the reoccurring ones besides Korra, Tenzin and maybe Jinora weren't all that great. That Bryke decided that at one point most of the Krew dated someone else in the group is probably going to be looked at as one of the worst writing choices they've ever made. Mako's reputation will never recover from the whole love triangle thing.>Presents us with more lore about the Avatar, the Spirit World, and the abilities of benders.Tbh I think that this is the biggest sore point for ATLA fans. Even though we got very little information about the Spirit World in ATLA, it definitely lost some of its mystery with LOK. Trying to suddenly give hard definitions and draw lines strips the mysticism of it. It went from this thing you can never fully understand and shouldn't tread lightly to kind of like. Angry pokemon, kind of. It doesn't help that the spirits went from being representative of how nature is not intentionally cruel but deadly nonetheless to being regular jerks who hate humans for basically existing. And then you have Ravaa and Vaatu whose existences answer questions that nobody was asking but reduce the question of what is light and darkness, what is good and evil to two wrestling kites. I think if they had been more animalistic and couldn't talk people might've been more receptive to them. And yeah, the loss of the past lives. The fans are never going to forgive Bryke for that.
>>155590056I liked it until the giant mecha. God that was dumb as shit. I thought they were gonna do cool shit with the Schwere Gustav gun+Earth nation's control of the railway system, but that just ended up being a wrist mounted gun for the stupid fucking mech.
>>155592671>Giant kaiju fight for literally no discernible reasonPardon me, sir, but there were TWO kaiju fights.
>>155592816>Trying to suddenly give hard definitions and draw lines strips the mysticism of it.>And yeah, the loss of the past lives. The fans are never going to forgive Bryke for that.Sorry I wanted to add something I just thought of. Like I said, Korra lost her connection to her past lives, and because of how Ravaa works, we know that connection is lost forever. If they *hadn't* explained so much about how the Avatar works, they could've left the door open for Korra or Pavi finding a way to reestablish a connection to their past lives. So now they either have to stick by the decision they made or come up with some weird half-assed explanation for the connections coming back.
>>155590056>Korra is a flawed characterThe problem isn't that she's flawed, that's a good start. The problem is how the show views growth for her and how her problems are solved.1. In book 1 her character flaws are symbolically tied to her inability to airbend, she gets one scene early on doing the very first step to start correcting that... then nothing until the last episode where she gets mad over her hurt BF and wants to punch Amon. Bam, suddenly air bending without issue.2. End of book 1. Presented with the chance to use her lost bending as a vehicle to humble her and develop her character, we get Aang ex machina and everything's solved, by the start of book 2 she's back to her arrogant self, arguably even more full of herself than ever.3. Book 2 onwards: at this point we're not just ignoring her flaws or solving her problems for free, the story ACTIVELY tries to convince you that her dumb choices are actually good. The spirit portals in particular stand out. Bryke will tell you that opening the portals was the correct choice and they'll die on that hill, ignoring all the disasters and all the harm it caused (don't believe the premise of Seven Havens, it's blatant bait. You can be sure they'll double down on Korra being correct bout everything)>Presents us with more lore about the Avatar, the Spirit WorldThe avatar gets retconned from being a force of balance and harmony into a force of light and good. Replacing the Bhuddist/daoist background with zoroastrian/abrahamic principles of good vs evil. You may prefer it, sure, but way to shit on the asian inspired setting with your middle eastern/western philosophy. And the spirits went from being forces of nature into a literal invasive species from another dimension. Again, If you like it you're entitled to your opinion, but at this point I just have to ask if you even liked the original show's worldbuilding, if you're so happy to see it so drastically changed.
>>155590154Naruto is algo obnoxious and annoying. Why aren't people mocking him unlike Korra?

It's just how it is. Oh and Nickelodeon cut back on the budget so they couldn't hire that GOAT korean studio to do the heavy lifting when it came to direction and artwork.
>>155592565>It was never a higher plane of existenceYes it was.>There were no souls of the dead there and it was never an afterlife.Never said there was. Just because it's a higher plane of existence doesn't mean it's an afterlife. That's an explicitly western thing.
>>155590056>more mature tone >fartbendingEvery painful second Meelo is on screen disproves this notion. Sure, Mako fried a bitch, and they added racism or whatever, but from what little I’ve seen of Korra it doesn’t seem a whole lot darker than ATLA. >>155593275Historically, people did mock Naruto for being a whiny faggot obsessed with Sasuke. When a series ends it shifts the way people judge it. If you dislike something, it’s not bad, you were just filtered. People also stopped bitching about Sasuke for this reason, even though he was hated while it was running.
>>155592565why was a panda evangelion from a different realm tied to a random patch of dirt? Why was the painted lady related to a random river?
>>155593774Korra was thinking about killing herself in the end of Book 1 because she didn't want to carry the burden of an avatar without bending
>>155593859Zuko yelled at the sky for some lightning that one time.
>>155593275Everyone crapped on Naruto since forever but at least his show has more characters and better world building to carry the show
>>155593893different context. plus i forgot to mention>fartbendingIt's a nickelodeon show
Aang has a lot going for him as a character besides "needs to learn to bend" such as him running away, being the last of his people, enjoying things that aren't being the avatar, liking animals, his crush on Katara, etc. Korra was just hot-headed and brash and a prodigy at three elements and her biggest problem was that she was facing a difficulty for the first time in her life that she couldn't handle, and it wasn't very relatable and very annoying to watch.
>>155593946Okay, well Korra looking kind of sad at a steep cliff for a few seconds before aang shows up isn’t really selling me on the darker tone. >It’s a nickelodeon show They could have kept the goofy shit separate from what’s supposed to be a tense battle. And I don’t remember Aang shitting his pants.
>>155590056don't care, post more korra fic by anon
>>155593990And also that her biggest fear was having her bending taken away itself was evidence of what a shallow and weak character she was. She had literally nothing else to define her because bending was her whole identity. Audience members who aren't benders won't relate.
>>155593990>prodigy at three elements and her biggest problem was that she was facing a difficulty for the first time in her life that she couldn't handle, and it wasn't very relatable and very annoying to watch.that's was a completely new concept, at least I've never seen anything like that before
>>155593990I kind of see what they were going for with the love triangle, showing a different side to her as she’s more insecure in the face of Asami’s beauty and wealth, but they really didn’t flesh out her crush on Mako enough, it developed over the course of a single evening or something and that’s supposedly her true love?
Sign of this site being dead is the TOTAL LACK of Korra's lewds
>>155594050>buffed in book 1>skinny and weak in book 4was it on purpose?
>>155590056>People have called Korra mary sue, but she's literally the opposite. She sucks, she's a jobber, and in season 2 intentionally written to be completely unlikeable.>Team Avatar sucks. Neither Bolin, nor Mako have any personality. Asami might as well not exist after season 1.>The only interesting characters are Tenzin and Lin Beifong, and they're not in the show nearly enough.>Bending looks boring now, MMA choreography sucks compared to flash martial arts, and they do imaginative things more rarely compared to TLA.>Suyin exists.
>>155594029They failed to play the natural angle with it because they are hackfrauds. Her realizing that to her entire identity being the avatar and being a bending "prodigy" and figuring it out through the series with help from her bending found family(why does every shitty modern show have to be about a found family of misfits in a city setting?) and solving the crisis and understanding what the non-benders are going through. Nope. Strong female character/bossbitch can't have any actual difficulty ever. Even though that's catnip for normie teen girls..the people they are obviously attempting to lure to this debacle of a show. So she cried and whined till big daddy fate gave her the powers back. One way of stopping the online bitching of creepy loser bitches playing feminist and female power types was to create an obvious loser bitch mouth piece and confronting her on her bullshit in the show. Then going on the offensive online. Yeah you'll piss off the usual suspects. But the reality is they are a loud lifeless minority that don't buy anything or are willing to do anything outside of being a nuisance.
>>155594050She's too cute to lewd.
>>155594103Blatantly untrue, I want to blast ropes on her armpits
>>155594084They realized that shilling her as a swole "Strong woman" and making bulldyke korra porn with paid social media artists had totally backfired. So they decided to double down on making her gay but realized butches don't sell. So they went full fem with her and emphasized how much larger asami was to create instantly recognizable visual representation of sexual power dynamicsAlso to do the acceptable because it's attractive to men and closet bi/lesbian women "two fem lesbians" thing. It was an obvious cynical move.
>>155594130>korra and asamiI love the show, but that was the most retarded thing they could’ve done. It’s funny because Mako has more chemistry with out of the closet Korra than Korra has with Asami.
>>155590056Korra (the character) is such obvious goonbait. Fucking hate that shit. Other than that the show was OK
>>155590056>Why is this show hated?Season 2. Season 2 killed off all the interest in the show on its first release, suffering massive ratings drop during and by season 3 it literally had 1/4th the viewership left. Not 1/4th lost, one fourth remained after that shitshow before it was unceremoniously yanked from the network and placed on a malfunctioning webapp that didn't work for those who could use it and most people couldn't even watch due to not having the right satellite provider. Thanks to the Netflix watchtime thing they released, we could see this happened all over again with the re-release. Season 1 to season 2 already had a hell of a drop, but it falls right off a fucking cliff post season 3, and barely anyone makes it through the rest of season 4. Two whole different generations after more than 10 years all seem to come to the conclusion that "Fuck finishing that show" happens right around season 2. You can try to defend if it you want, I can't imagine anyone who would, but it's not gonna change anything.
>>155594157>Asami gets kidnapped in both of the Korra comicsThey really just don't give a fuck about her huh
>>155594175She had no personality other than being hot and having her father dead, 100% the worst character in the show
>>155590056It's absolutely fine and everyone was being a big baby about a kid's show because they think it matters. Could it have been better? Absolutely. Was it as bad as a lot of folks made it out to be? No.Also all the people who thought it was fine aren't out here telling you how fine it was.
>>155590056>>155590173As much as I liked ATLA, I was kinda interested in watching Korra at first. But as I read more about it, I changed my mind and decided to avoid Korra altogether. I'll just stick to ATLA and fan art like this.
>water benders learned how to bend from the moonNah turtle>earth benders learned from the tunneling badgersNah turtleEtc, retcons fucking suck always
>>155594202explain the views dropping and it getting dropped from the network entirely
>>155594170>hanks to the Netflix watchtime thing they released, we could see this happened all over again with the re-release.You should note Korra's first season period on Netflix was already was 1000 ranks lower than Aang's first season. That is not an exaggeration. I did not hit a zero one too many times. 362 vs 1406. Which is fucking wild to anyone who was around when the show premiered, it had more hype than any nick show period. It had the highest opening of any new show at the time, I think it might still hold that record actually. 4.8 million for a nick show was fucking massive, and that was just the first premier. It still did super hot when the episode did a re-run. it seemed like it was going to be the next big thing, and you got why it had the biggest budget of any nick show, period. Then season 2 happened.
>>155594202>It's absolutely fine and everyone was being a big baby about a kid's show because they think it matters.>Am I so out of touch?>No, it's the people who stopped watching who are wrong.
>>155590399The spirits only look that way because they were aggrivated by human actions in atla when they calmed back down they all turned back into normal animals. Even the painted lady is conventionally attractive
>>155594170It was season 1 being retarded and reruns of said season. That's what happened. And Bryke not having anyone in the writing room with a clue was detrimental The obvious paid by them lez pandering in social media during the first season which just created an entire terminally online and loud group of creeper fans who infested all animation and child/teen aimed portions of the web didn't help in the slightest. >>155594157They wanted to go to streaming. Netflix to be precise. You HAVE to push queer in the children's shows there. The same thing happened at the end of the og avatar. They left the fire lord alive and had zuko ask him where his assumed dead mother was and never solved the air bender and permanently destroyed balance thing at the end. It was a cynical move to force more eps and engagement with the IP. The next series did absolutley nothing with either of those and it just ruined a massive chunk of the series by extension. Let's face it. Avatar was lightning in a bottle and "Bryke" had very little to do with what made it popular. If anything their mismanagement later is the cause of the IP's downfall.
>>155594226I don't see how that contradicts what I said. Everyone got into a frothy tizzy over it. There's literally someone in THIS thread who was excited about it but didn't watch because of people complaining.People were predisposed to not like it because it wasn't the Gaang/the Gaang's kids. When you're prepared to hate something... ya gonna hate it.I'm not even going to start with the fact that it was a girl protagonist. That did not help one bit.
>>155590056Took 3 seasons to get decent
>>155594251There are tons of reasons viewership dropped; they got fucked over with the timeslot multiple times. Streaming still sucked back then; many people pirated the show rather than watch on cable. It's a bit more complicated than "people didn't like it."Again, I'm not saying it couldn't have been better. I just don't think it was as bad as people said it was, now or back then.
>>155594170It's pretty easy to see why.>Korra resets as a character and makes the dumbest choices throughout the whole season. Just one retarded plotpoint after another.>The entire season hinges on a plothole that makes no sense if you've seen the first series, there's no reason none of the past lives couldn't have stepped in when she tried opening the portal in the Avatar State and warned her what was going to happen. It's not like Aang didn't already manifest to her in the duex ex manchina finale.>They turned what was a really unique and great spiritual power centered around balance into "This kite is good and does good things! This black scary eeeevil kite makes you act eeeevil and be mean, lets hope the good guy kite beats the bad guy kite!">The villain is far and away the worst the series has ever made, anyone who can make it past "I will become the DARK AVATARRRR" has dedication.>The ending is so stupid, and so full of plotholes regarding that tree and the fact nobody else is using it and how Tenzin even knows about it that it becomes pointless to even think about. >This season also continues the tradition of out of nowhere dues ex machina, this one literally falling from the sky to save her. This isn't even getting into the dumb Bolin subplot, the dumb amnesia love triangle subplot, the Asami subplot, just so much bad crammed into one shitty season.
>>155594084Was it on purpose that the sick girl living off the land with barely any money wandering through the earth kingdom with mercury in her body was skinny? What the fuck do you think?
>>155594322>There are tons of reasons viewership dropped; they got fucked over with the timeslot multiple times.Yeah that may have worked back in the day as a "It was totally something else!" And maybe you could convince them if you insisted just right, but we saw what happened when it went on Netflix. It's the exact same thing.Maybe, just maybe, it wasn't those other explanations and it's the only explanation that works across two different generations and two different entire means of watching it?>I just don't think it was as bad as people said it was, now or back then.Cool. Obviously most viewers of the show disagree and stop watching it.
>>155594297>It was season 1 being retarded and reruns of said season. That's what happened.Season 1 had a drop between it and season 2, and we can certainly point to that dumb as hell finale that obviously rubbed a lot of viewers the wrong way, but that was a softer 700K drop between seasons, season 3 couldn't even stop 200K people from not changing the channel between episode 2 and 3 of season 3. That doesn't sound so bad until you realize episodes 1 2 and 3 were shown back to back...
>>155594208You should watch the show you criticize. They only got the ability to bend from the turtles they still had to learn how to actually control the elements from the animals and the moon. You literally see Wan becoming a firebending master by training with a dragon in the same flashback you're complaining about. The only thing that got retconned was that humanity didn't always exist as benders which makes sense since if they did the animals wouldn't be the original benders now would they?
>>155594347Again, there *could* (not saying there *is*) be many reasons for that. Attention span sucking these days, people only watching the seasons they cared about for nostalgia, etc. I just don't feel like it's a clear 1-to-1.I really think it just comes down to it not being what people wanted, ATLA 2./co/ ain't the place to be a Korra apologist. Thanks for responding level-headedly.
>>155594339Don't give me that fucking bullshit. It was an artstyle decision to make her more fem and easily push the dyke angle they were clumsily hinting at. >>155594382Anon, that breaks every bit of canon. How in the hell did they just magically learn how to bend or KNOW they could bend from watching animals? Why is bending tied to dna and location if non element bending was bestowed by the turtle? It makes no goddamned sense and just completely breaks all internal logic.
>>155594409>or KNOW they could bend from watching animals? It's a reference to how some real life martial arts developed from studying animals. I don't think anyone automatically knew to look to animals/nature, they made the connections based off of their own observations.
>>155594391>Attention span sucking these daysI normally would agree, but ATLA season 2 had a very small drop compared to season 1 on netflix, season 3 was neck and neck with it. Viewers were a-okay with sticking around to finish the previous one despite there being more episodes to get there.>, people only watching the seasons they cared about for nostalgia,Yeah not a lot of nostalgia for something that didn't get finished for whatever reason.> I just don't feel like it's a clear 1-to-1.I'm basing this entirely off what I can see, I don't have a "Feel" for it since I only know one other person who likes Avatar in general and she didn't like Korra. If there was some other explanation for a comically large drop both times, on the same season, and there wasn't a 1-1 comparison with the exact same style of show, I'd probably at least consider it, but you can't blame shifting timezones or broken webapps for a netflix full re-release that had more than 2/3rds of viewers decide not to finish it with an almost decade gap in between, and when it was released at the exact same time as ATLA that absolutely lit up netflix on release and stayed in the top 10 cartoons for over a year. Korra didn't.>pan sucking these days, people only watching the seasons they cared about for nostalgia, etc. I just don't feel like it's a clear 1-to-1.>I really think it just comes down to it not being what people wanted, ATLA 2.You can say that again.

They should've continued with the adult Gaang.Or maybe not. They probably would've fucked them up too.But the fact remains that time jumping to the next avatar pretty much freezes the Gaang's stories and potential and development. Nothing notable can happen with them again.
>>155594542>Nothing notable can happen with them again. We don't know how Sokka died.
>>155594409>Why is bending tied to dna and location if non element bending was bestowed by the turtle? Are you fucking retarded or just fucking illiterate? The turtles bestowed elemental bending not non elemental. Its tied to location because as you would see if you had actually watched the thing you were complaining about turtles with different elements lived in different areas of the world. The turtles with earth bending lived where the earth nation would end up being and since the civilizations stuck together after they left the turtles they naturally formed their own nations. Those people would naturally mix and mingle with people from their own nations meaning you have a nation of mostly earth benders because that's what the general area is largely populated with. You're retarded statement is like asking why there isn't a large population of white people in africa if white people can travel there
>>155594637Given that he was alive when the Red Lotus tried to kidnap toddler Korra he at least made it to his 70s. He probably just died of old age.
>>155590114>How did it ruin the spirit world? You can walk to it through a FUCKING DOOR.
>>155590056>Why is this show hated?but I love Korra thou
>>155594464Who was the first benders and how did they know how to bend a specific element? It's logically flawed and breaks the world. >>155594542>They probably would've fucked them up too. They did. They suck.
>>155594382>In the era before the Avatar, we bent NOT the elements, but the energy within ourselves I don’t even care that much, but it’s lamer. Aang and Zuko’s training episodes showed it was never as easy as it was for Wan. They mocked the idea of blasting fire out of your hands the second you know you’re a bender.
>>155590056Korra really didn't surround herself with interesting people. Bolin, Asami, and Mako really weren't interesting compared to the original Team Avatar. Really, you could have cut all 3 of those side characters and not much would have changed. I did like Korra as a hero. And I did like season 3. It just wasn't fun re-visiting most of the places that we've already seen in Avatar, and all we got was "see, it's the same place you've already seen, just in 1920's style! Wow!" I don't feel like Korra really did enough new things to even justify making the show. Outside of maybe season 3 with seeing all these new airbenders and a group of rogue benders.
>>155595015Really the way to fix korra would have been for her to detroy the avatar cycle completely to stop some ANCIENT EVIL awakening after the balance cycle was broken in the avatar. She would become just an energy bender and have to relearn how to bend using the new rules. People who couldn't bend before would learn how to bend or some form of energy bending with most deciding not to use it at all. People born in certain areas are more predisposed to bending an element but it's not a given. There. Simple. From there they can fully embrace the knock off naruto style they wanted.
>>155590056It was shit because it made Toph & Aang shitty parents + Sokka died childless.>>155593719>the va for asami being out of pocket with her long creepy shpiel about underage lesbians and friendship disturbing the hell out of everyone put it on the shit list of the normies. QRD? When the fuck did that happen?
>>155594157jesus christ
>>155590056I can't say for others but the reasons the show is bad in my opinion are:The world is poorly throughout, in the Last Airbender you had jobs that benders did, you did have some if those jobs in Korra, like the cop metal benders, but why aren't there water bender gardeners, where are the fire benders who are heating up metal, but hey we have lighting benders make electric power. If you had benders that were prioritized for better jobs then equalists would be more sympathetic and even somewhat justified. There are some horrible changes to the lore, like lighting bending being used to generate electric power, this is stupid because lighting bending was only used by the royal family. Then how did other people learn blood bending? In the original series there were only 2 blood benders. It just comes off as the writers going this is cool use it even if it fuck over the original lore. Then the villains don't have enough time to develop, in the original Ozai was built up since the beginning, Azula was always shown as intimidating and competent, so when ever they were fighting you know the shit was going down. In Korra you had one main villain per season, if you had one overarching villain for the entire show with some side villains then you could develop them even more. The characters are wasted potential, look at Kora she is hot headed and willing to act, but she remains the same, if she was forced to become more spiritual then that would make her better in my opinion. The rest aren't that great either I can't remember anything about Bolin, except that he got cucked by his brother, who in turn got cucked by his ex girlfriend. Azami is much better, I just remember that she is rich, didn't like her dad after season 1 and uses technology. The mature tone is big drawback since it was intended for mature audience there were greater expectations, they could show how benders are abusing non benders, by taking better jobs and forcing then to do physical jobs. (Cont.)
>>155590056I really liked season 1 but I didn't care for the rest. Just think of the rest like a cool bonus I guess.
>>155595439Hell you could have more powerful benders abusive the less powerful benders, so you could have both benders and non benders as equalists.Lastly while not a part of the show, the Korra fags are extremely annoying, they have to bend like a pretzel in order to make Korra a great avatar and they need to make it so that she didn't do anything wrong, instead of acknowledging that like every avatar before her she made some mistakes.
>>155590056Make a flawed protagonist with a development arc is not a problem. Bad paid off is the problem. Not to mention, they don't even allow the protagonist to win a single victory through their own efforts. Even if they show some character development, in the next story, the writers will slap them back.

>>155594157I commend this artist for unintentionally drawing Mako looking so broken. Just Jesus fucking Christ, man...
>>155590056Korra had a lot of issues, but none worse than the fact that the characters (ESPECIALLY the protagonist) were just plain unlikable. I could stomach the dogshit plot and enshittification of the universe if the cast was at least charming.
>>155593275First off, Naruto most certainly had his fair share of haters. And second, Naruto’s angst was understandable given the circumstances of his upbringing, while Korra was just a spoiled brat. Korra is more comparable to Boruto than Naruto.
>>155591857Yeah it’s easy to sperg out and handwave everything. Ironic you call it a hate boner when the only reason you defend this character is because you can’t use your head and let your penis think for you.
>>155593157The entire climax of the first book was a series of asspulls that just handed korra the win without any work towards it >chi blocking apparently needing to block each type of bending separately>korra getting angry enough to suddenly download master airbending>amon going to the effort to make a burned face disguise under his mask but it immediately dissolving on contact with water>a waterbender panicking when entering the water and blowing his cover>Aang showing up to give all korras bending back
>>155594965>Who was the first bendersGrammar aside, it would have been developed independently by different primitive groups in different regions>and how did they know to bend different elements?Observing the nature of their environment interacting with that element. That's why the fire nation is volcanic, the water nation is icey, the air nation is mountainous and the earth nation is arid.
>>155590056>Why is this show hated? There was an avatar movie about adult Aang being made even after Korra resetted the avatar state in the show. If that is not a narrative failure then I don't know what is.
They should just make another Aang movie where he just wipes all of Korra from existence.

>>155595963No one could bend till the turtlesNo one knew what bending was till turtlesThey magically picked a random element to bend and that is all they could bend because animals and land and race You can't bend a different element in another land if you are another race or don't do the special magic kataNone of this shit adds up. How did they randomly just pull magic kungfu out of their ass and why are they locked to one element if it's about land and spirit and shit and not race? And if it's about race as was shown in korra then why weren't there any other bi-racial benders who could bend a different random element different from their parents? I know damned well there were a ton of half firebender half earthbender people in the earth nation colonies. So where are they? The show has a stupid as fuck power system.
>>155590056>Departed from the leftist "everyone is different and we should celebrate our differences" and went to the leftist "globohomo melting pot culture eraser now!">Korra is a bitch the entire show who never grows and always gets bailed out in the end without learning anything>YOU GOTTA DEAL WITH IT>Rapes the entire spirit world for all its worth>Rapes the origin of the elements so people didn't learn them by observing majestic creatures, but were just given the power by a lion turtle>Does the harry potter sequel shit of saying "all those protagonists you love ended up being dogshit parents because that's heckin relatable">0 chemistry in the main cast>Everyone can lightningbend or metalbend with 0 efforts>Pathetic racism allegory with muh non-benda (same shit as the "denied") when non-bender oppression never existed in the main show in the first placeAnd that's just off the top of my head. Dogshit series, the only good thing to come out of it is that Korra's design is sexo.
>>155596262Oh yeah, also, they raped to death the avatar state, what used to be by far the most powerful ability any human could ever dream to possess, the one ability that had to be nerfed by Aang not knowing how to invoke it at will, it generally only happening as an unintentional survival instinct or under extreme emotional distress, an ability where the only downside was the risk of getting an Azula backstab that could kill the avatar cycle. In Korra, it's a very slight power boost, can be used at will, is used to win a race against a child, and Korra gets humiliated 1 on 1 against some random bitch while fully in the avatar state. And in the shit movie it's the same. For some muh deconstruction or woke "nobody is inherently better than anybody else" reason, they decided that actually, the avatar state fucking sucks. So there isn't even a reason to care or respect the avatar anymore, what the fuck do you need an avatar for? There are no powerful monolithic cultures that need the avatar to serve as a bridge between them to maintain balance, the avatar isn't an all powerful being that can solve international conflicts, the avatar isn't someone who communicates with the spirit world in any way that matters and the spirits aren't unfathomable amoral creatures but cute pokemons... The entire concept of the avatar exists for a world they deliberately annihilated in their new setting.

>>155590056>perfect like AangAre you fucking retarded? Aang's flaws are compelling. Korra's flaws are hard-headed (because stronk woman,) muh lesbian but mmm Mako, and just being a mouthy rude bitch in general. Aang was hard-headed but because of his culture and his core beliefs. He simped for a single girl and had chemisty with her. He was a polite person befitting of the Avatar unless you really pissed him off. Korra is just not a likeable protagonist unless you want to fuck her.
>>155595072>Korra really didn't surround herself with interesting people.Asami had potential to be interesting if they hadn't blown their load with the Equalist plot right off the bat. An influential non-bender who's family had a traumatic experience with benders, and who is willing to push back on the Avatar when it comes to how non-benders are treated could have gone in a lot of interesting directions and made the decision to betray her father and side with Korra a really great conclusion to that arc... instead that's where her arc starts like 3 episodes after she's introduced.Bolin doesn't have a ton going on motivation-wise, but his upbeat personality made for a good balance to everyone else's seriousness.Mako is just the shittiest sadsack of a character and he goes basically nowhere character-wise the whole series.
>>155590056>>Korra is a flawed character, she is not perfect like AangAang wasn't perfect either you Redditspacing idiot.>>The more mature tone is definitely a step up, it makes the threats seem more serious. Is it? Is it a more mature tone? Most of Korra's airbending is done through a sport, and the Equalists never threaten to kill any masses. AtLA's story was built on the constant threat of was, and part of Aang's character was dealing with genocide and near cultural extinction of his people. Despite the show being primarily for children and lighthearted at points, that pretense is always haunting the story and characters. Meanwhile Korra just flashes a few "scary" fish eye shots and throws in some boring relationship drama to pad out the setting. Seriously. There is not a "mature" moment in LoK that isn't done more intensely in Avatar except maybe the mercury poisoning.>>Presents us with more lore about the AvatarIt retconned the Avatar and tried to explain the magic.

>>155597102Aang's an immature showoff that's irresponsible and easily gets jealous. He burns Katara when he tries to Firebend for the first time just because he wanted to copy a street performer he saw, he hid the letter from Bato, and wasted time with a town that's butthurt about Kyoshi.
>>155597196I'd argue the Kyoshi stuff is an endearing quality. I guess it's prideful but it was more out of respect for her and not "I'M THE AVATAR AND YOU BETTER GET USED TO IT!" Or whatever Korra said in her intro.
>>155597226Maybe, but also it happened while the world was on a timer. There was no reason to do it other than Aang trying to fix the reputation of one of his past lives, and it ultimately did not benefit the team at all.
>>155597102Even if he was perfect that doesn't mean everyone liked him, people may like Aang more than Korra but Aang isn't popular either. Katara, Zuko, Toph and even Sokka are more popular.
>>155590536>she can’t just punch every problem, which is the point of her arc.She literally unlockes airbending by punishing the air in desperation. Shut the fuck up.
>>155598666Kek, this. She's a mindless brute from beginning to end and never gets punished long term for it, she's never forced to grow, the entire issue she has at the beginning with not fulfilling her role as a spiritual being is never resolved, she just allows infinite spirits to rape the world and tells you to DEAL WITH IT.
I'm still trying to figure out the thought process of Korra or the writers here. Why did they think it was a good idea to merge our universe with one containing horrors beyond comprehension? There's literally a spirit that steals faces fucking around in the human world now. Why would anyone logically want shit like that in our reality?

>>155590114It introduced the concept of good and evil spirits. That might sound mundane because you assume every culture has a concept of good and evil, but Avatar was more rooted in the Eastern idea of morality, where good and evil as concepts were more vague. In Avatar: The Last Airbender, you couldn't really point to any specific spirit and say they were downright evil. Even spirits like Koh, the Face Stealer, while he was a dick, I wouldn't say he was pure evil because you could talk to him and even reason with him. More Trickster Nature than Malice. Meanwhile, in Korra, there is an objective good and evil force, which is more rooted in stuff like Zoroastrianism and the Abrahamic faiths. It also retconned several things from The original series, I believe.
>>155601737Avatar had amoral spirits, meaning they just didn't care about human morality and had their own values and desires. Korra forces moral and immoral spirits, there is good kite and evil kite.
>>155601737>>155596649The original Avatar was based more around Buddhist inspired stories. I actually go to the Japanese Jodo Shinshu temple on Sundays, and the stories that the reverend tells are more just "moral lessons" from the Jakata tales, personal experiences, and stories about monks. The reverend never threatens the sangha. This is a really big difference between Buddhism and American Evangelical Christianity. There really isn't this "big threat" of Satan, demons, Hell, and the Apocalypse. I remember many of the Christian Sunday School lessons I grew up with were threats. A lot of the original Avatar stories were about Aang bringing peace to the people. Like that one episode where he had to get two warring tribes out of the canon and made peace by lying to them. Or the episode where he had to tell the true story of Kyoshi and was rewarded with crappy raw cookie dough. A lot of these Jakata tales have talking animals like Aasopp's fables. I would have preferred if Korra was able to talk to animals instead of the entire spirit world crap.
>>155601985>There really isn't this "big threat" of Satan, demons, Hell, and the Apocalypse.Bullshit.>In Buddhism, the demon king is Mara (also known as Papiyas or Hajun), commonly identified as the Demon King of the Sixth Heaven (Dairokuten Maō).>He symbolizes the forces of evil, illusions, fundamental darkness, and the worldly desires that bind human beings to the cycle of suffering, birth, and death.>He attempts to divert practitioners—and Gautama Buddha himself—from enlightenment through temptation, fear, or doubt.
>>155602175AI bot post. Buddhists are VERY different depending on which temple you go to or which sect it is. Do you actually go to your local temple? Or are you just writing whatever you find on the internet? The reverend at my temple never once said "Mara." He said "Jigoku" before, which is "kind of" like a Buddhist version of Hell. But it's more a place where "people have bad teamwork."

There's tons of problems but it's very representative of the tumblrisation of media because the viewer is constantly comparing it ATLA which is more "pure" and respectful of its own world.ATLA is a hero's journey set in a cool medieval world with naturalistic worldbuilding. It has lots of asian "cool" stuff but has enough respect to not just be kung fu and ninjas all the time. You get the sense that the characters have the flaws any child would have but their heart is in the right place.Korra is a YA fiction story that has no respect for the ATLA premise and uses it as the background setting for what is basically a new world, and retcons established lore for, effectively, no real reason. Characters make selfish decisions and bicker, and despite being older people are somehow less capable of responsible behaviour than children. It also hasn't aged well at all, it just feels like a precursor to the never ending age of Brown Girl Adventure that cartoons are on loop now.
>>155603285>Characters make selfish decisions and bicker, and despite being older people are somehow less capable of responsible behaviour than children.Tbh in ATLA there was a violent war happening in the background, so it made sense for everyone there being tougher, it Legend of Korra there was peace until Kuvira>It also hasn't aged well at all, it just feels like a precursor to the never ending age of Brown Girl Adventure that cartoons are on loop now.Now this is just dumb, there is no white people in the avatar world and the people from the water tribes have always been dark skinned

>>155590056People will bitch about stupid shit, but the real answer is that the writers wanted to eat their cake and have it, too; all of the villains usually have a good point, but they are forced to go full retard so that the series doesn't actually have to come to grips with the point they are trying to make. It ends up being a really limp wristed, Blairist, pro establishment story.
For me personally, the show was just really frustrating. Watching Korra constantly job even when in Avatar state, getting her bending back through some asspull, underutilising Aang and then killing the past lives, making more airbenders through an asspull adding Raava which basically made the Avatar no longer a deity but a host for a spirit, the entire Makorrasami bullshit which ended in lesbianism out of nowhere because the creators didn’t know how to properly end the show, showing the first avatar instead of leaving the mystery. They just made the Avatar lame and gay. Then there’s the whole shitting on the old gaang and making them seem like bad parents and neglecting to show any of Sokka’s offspring. As for the spirit world changes, they’re whatever. The spirit world was always shit and poorly thought out even in the original show. I don’t think there was anyway to really salvage it when Korra was being created.
>>155605846I guess that is the main problem, they truly went the Ozai route>Mwahahaha Now I will use my super saiyan comet fire powers to burn everything. But back with Aang this could easily be ignored since he was the actual big bad villain of a children cartoon and the final battle wasn't fought until the very end of all the seasons. With Korra they wanted it all to be more "adult" and "mature" but they kept their same way of writing. And if we consider that we have 1 villain per season then the effect only amplifies.
>>155605846Only Among had a point about inequality but removing people’s cool magic powers is the most retarded solution to the problem. What the fuck was Zaheer’s goal? Did let’s live in complete chaos dude. Fuck off you hippy retard.
Avatar is like the original trilogy of Star Wars, it hit at the right time, it has a simple heroes journey with fun enough lore/characters to interest people. It doesn't have to be deep. The whole family could enjoy it.The Legend of Korra is somehow like the Star Wars prequels/sequels. It expands the lore but also shits on things. It is somehow dumber, none of the themes really get explored despite some of the ideas being there. It doesn't help that the pivot towards more mature teen audiences somehow made the show feel less interesting and not really mature. I don't know how to explain it but the limits of a kids show that the family can enjoy tends to make better world building but when people aim something towards an older teen audience they can often fuck things up. Like the sequels, it revels in subverting expectations style twists. Like the sequels, people got weirdly invested in shipping.
>>155605901You're watching it and you're like, "yeah, it *is* fucked up that there is this terrible two tier social system based on whether or not you were born with magic," but they absolutely don't have the stones to actually *do* anything with that. There are a shitload of vaguely """progressive""" writers who pull this shit, it's very annoying.
The lesbian ending was what really made me hate it. It revealed what the writer’s real priorities were.
>>155605912They say limitation breeds creativity, they couldn't just show all the "mature" stuff they wanted so they needed to give a little bit more thought at the things they put on screenSame reason why in Batman the Animated Series, the iconic "Joker Toxin" was created, because they weren't able to show him just outright killing people.
>>155590056I mostly like Korra, but I completely understand the hate. She destroyed the fucking connection to past Avatars. No recovering from that in the future either. The link is gone forever. If you watched Last Airbender with Aang, then you know how significant that is. Korra singlehandedly nerfed the Avatar state + what it means to even be the Avatar. >You like god mode with the wisdom & experience of hundreds of Avatars?>Too bad! Call upon the wisdom of KORRA exclusively, instead! It's fucked up man!

Oh I guess Zaheer is Bane or something and bro is going to murder the Avatar.>How does fascism rise- okay Kuvira has a giant mech and german army helmets, do you get it bro? This show would have been BETTER if it actually explored its themes rather than throwing them out the window for twists and boring conflicts. This to me is the tradition, which sort of started with Magneto of "the villain has interesting depth/motivation but we still need an act 3 fight guys!" Aka, contrived goes too far moment, any point is gon, fight time.>It ends up being a really limp wristed, Blairist, pro establishment story.Season 1 ends with "oh and we added non-benders to the city council, problem solved I guess!" I have always maintained that the issue is the specific type of audience they were trying to please with this show was the main issue. They directly intereacted with a tumblr audience who ate up shitty twists. They wanted those tumblr posts talking shipping or people being surprised more than making actual satisfying stuff. Its like focusing on creating lore for lore videos, rather than actually thinking, what works here. >>155605951It is exactly that.
>>155605951>Same reason why in Batman the Animated Series, the iconic "Joker Toxin" was created, because they weren't able to show him just outright killing people.Joker venom has been there since basically the start. Sure the show just had a non lethal version.
>>155591367What's ironic is the fact that such aesthetics are generally quite popular among Middle Easterners. Reminds me of the embarrassment that occurred when Warner Bros tried to phase out Speedy Gonzales due to him being a Mexican stereotype, only to get a lot of complaints from actual Mexicans who enjoyed him and his cartoons.
>>155590056>The jokes and characters are...Bad, it's clear they don't know how writing works and it makes Michael Maltese turn in his grave.>The animation is beautiful, the soundtrack is used at the right moments100% fake, the animation is jerky with terrible timing, posing and settling and the music is so awful that it makes Carl Staling turn in his grave. And yes I'm talking about the Mir animated episodes, Pierrot was even worse but Magic Bus did most of their work, and Magic Bus is Japanese Akom.
>>155606024>How does fascism rise- okay Kuvira has a giant mech and german army helmets, do you get it bro?Hey! She also had work camps where people are totally mistreated!Hm? You wanted to see that, not just have it be a throwaway line late in the game after she made too many good points? Too bad, take their word for it and get ready for the second army to essentially go “oh our leader sucks, let’s go home, everyone!” And just brush right the fuck past that. Everyone loved it so much the first time!
>>155590056There's a massive plot hole in season 2 that is just too large to ignore. I did a complete rewatch, seasons 1, 2 and 4 are fine yes there's issues with korras avatar state being weaker than aang, and korra becoming a bisexual lesbian is shoe horned in at the last minute, and korra is a slut etc. But there is a huge fucking retarded ass plot hole in season 2. In season 2 korra opens the southern portal after getting tricked by unalaq. She then later is attacked by the dark spirit and sees wans story, korra learns from wans story that in order for vaatu to be freed BOTH portals need to be open the northern and southern portals during harmonic convergence, she learns from this that unalaq is trying to free vaatu during harmonic convergence. So what does she do, she goes to the southern portal to close it and gets tricked into opening the northern portal after unalaq holds tenzins little dork kid hostage. Now here's the fucking issue, had korra just done FUCKING NOTHING then NOTHING would have happened. Korra knows only the avatar can open and close the spirit portals, she knows BOTH portals need to be open during harmonic convergence in order for vaatu to be freed, when she learns this only ONE portal is open. So the solution would have been to do NOTHING, there was no way unalaq could free vaatu as long as korra didn't open the northern portal. She just had to park her fat fucking ass in republic city, wait until harmonic convergence was over and THEN go beat up unalaq and close the southern portal when there was NO RISK of vaatu being freed. It's the single biggest fuck up in the series and not only that but if the leaks about seven havens are true then the reason the world went to shit is the portals being open during harmonic convergence meaning the entire premise of seven havens is based on a big fat fucking plot hole.
>>155606343Also one more thing to add korras boobs are bigger in season 1 and 2 and then they made them smaller in seasons 3 and 4
>>155605671I love Korra, for me she was better than Aang, Mako was good too, except for the love triangle
Toph's whorification and its consequences were a disaster for mankind.
>>155606343>if the leaks about seven havens are true then the reason the world went to shit is the portals being open during harmonic convergence meaning the entire premise of seven havens is based on a big fat fucking plot hole. That entire season is based on a plothole. We saw in the episode The Avatar State in the OG series that when you tap into the Avatar State, the past lives can full on stop you and give you exposition complete with flying tour, and this tracks with the very first time it got mentioned when he said it lets you "Tap into the knowledge of your past lives". That's the entire point of the damn thing. So when Korra taps into it to open up the Northern Portal, they could have very easily just stopped her and been all "Whoa nelly, lets not let the evil kite out of the box shall we?" Aang specifically chose not to open the portal, he has a reason, this whole fucking season is based on the idea the past lives were all watching Fresh Prince of Bel Air and didn't realize their brown bisexual was mid fuckup again. Oh and then it somehow gets better because at the end Tenzin is all like "Oh yeah I totally know this tree that we are standing in, Monks came here to tap into its power.", only problem is that entire fucking area is sealed off except via portal meaning the only possible time they could've done that was before Evil Kite got put in there. Either they forgot to mention the ENTIRE HISTORY OF WAN'S WORLD or they just up and forgot the fucking death spirit of evil that got locked in there, pick your poison so Korra can go Ultraman while they're under attack... except Korra DIDN'T have to be the only one going ultraman! She's not the Avatar right there, and she's not spiritual at all, Tenzin very easily could've sat next to her and defended the tree as a goddamn super giant, or tag teamed the "Dawk avatawww", but they didn't because otherwise Korra would be useless in her own finale. This season was so fucking bad
>>155606495>Oh yeah I totally know this tree that we are standing in, Monks came here to tap into its powerOne of Mike or Bryan’s stupid ideas they mentioned in the episode commentary was that the fire island Korra went to in Beginnings is not only the source of all spirituality, but its culture predates the Avatar. So in theory Tenzin just learned about the tree mediating from them
>>155606495The whose season was just a massive clusterfuck fixing Korra is easy. Make the red lotus the main villains have Amon be a red lotus be easy to say that he met them after running away from home. Retcon him and tarrlock surviving the boat explosion and have him free Zaheer and the others. The entire raava, vaatu thing is awful
>>155590056Avatards once again fall for obvious threads like this because they are the dumbest posters on /co/
>>155605951>>155605912didn't the shows also have different writers different
>>155596319I FEEL your pain anon.
>>155607026Edit: this isn't a typo, I wrote different twice for emphasis
>>155599406>muh inclusion
>>155593275You have to be 18 years or older to post here
>>155590056I hate how they made korra a dyke
>>155607081Blame Paheal and Palcomix, Bryke made the ending just for them.
>>155606905Don’t the bloodbending bros like order? Zaheer and his guys are all about chaos and anarchy. While they were scraping by in the wartorn earth kingdom, Noatok and Tarrlok had all the seal meat they could eat and a warm igloo
>>155607090Hi Famicom! No, it was for TUMBLR. Michael had a personal TUMBLR where he confirmed the gayness, you schizophrenic retard.
>>155607205No it was not, by Book 4 only straight cis gendered male perverts over the age of 18 were watching Korra so Bryke made Korra's ending the way it is because they know men like girl on girl action. If Palcomix and Paheal didn't exist Korra would've ended up with Mako instead.Bryke made Korra and Asami lesbians because it's what Palcomix and Paheal wanted, strictly.Tumblr wanted Korra X Mako.I was there when it happened, you were not so please shut up, you don't know what you're talking about.
>>155606737>One of Mike or Bryan’s stupid ideas they mentioned in the episode commentary was that the fire island Korra went to in Beginnings is not only the source of all spirituality, but its culture predates the Avatar. That is indeed a stupid idea because it means there's an entire culture that somehow knows this one fucking tree people supposedly meditated in and yet the culture forgot the entire everything else around it, they forgot where it was, what it was doing, and what helldemon was currently locked inside there. It somehow gets even dumber post that because that means they've got a culture specifically based off the spirit realm who's information survived ten thousand years, but only this one single thing. Not like, anything else, just this one piece of information that never got taught to anyone but Tenzin got to hear about. And it's somehow even dumber because Tenzin apparently recognized the tree who's description has to be exact yet survived 10,000 years since a single soul has seen it, but not so exact as to explain what the fuck was inside of the goddamn thing because nobody knows who the dark kite is.That said none of this is a knock against it in the actual show, because not a single word of it is in the show, he literally just unprompted infodumps this shit without so much as a throwaway line to explain where he learned this super vital information that also was missing other super vital information that's just coincidentally coming up right now, even if there was supposed to be this other super well researched society somewhere, we sure as shit didn't see it.
>>155607032Thanks anon. This departure is a big part of why modern media is so widely despised, we used to have chosen ones protagonists who were clearly respected as the most important and/or powerful person to the main conflict, great man theory stories, where the fight was shown as only having meaning because it was for the common good, for the protagonist's friend, and those friends sometimes helped save the protagonist. Now, "nobody is better than anyone else!", so protagonists are weak and useless, and get saved dozens of times by other characters who don't even respect them so you wonder why they're even the protag. In a typical James Bond story, he's the coolest guy around, and will maybe get saved once by a hottie. In the newest game, he gets saved countless times by brown women who are systematically shown to be more competent than him and insult him while he takes it in stride like a whipped dog.
>>155594303>ya gonna hate it.Holy shit you write like a faggot>I'm not even going to start with the fact that it was a girl protagonist. That did not help one bit.Yeah like this board isn't filled with autists who watch anime with girl protagonists, you fucking retarded normalfag
>>155606461>Toph's whorificationNah, that was okay. That was always gonna happen.
