Not saying HOI was good or better either, it sucked, but it died for similar reasons Molly did, it lacked the hype that Amphibia/TOH got awarded from their link to Gravity Falls.
>>155596399Not sure what happened with HOI, but the script for at the very least the first few season 2 episodes seemed to be complete. Not drafts, but the actual finished thing. Also, HOI technically did get a season extension, from 20 episodes to 30 episodes, so them thinking ahead that they might get an official second season was not so far fetched. I think the problem was, for a show centered around Moana's VA, nobody really cared about its songs (although the one in the pilot was a banger, should've been the actual theme song). I actually don't think this did too badly ratings wise, it just didn't do good enough to justify paying Moana to play Nerd!Moana when she could just fucking play Moana.
