Currently working on the newest chapter of my story ("Armored Core: Copper Frost" on Ao3) after getting my life derailed by personal BS. Hard to get back into the swing of things after a while, but I'm trucking along.

As far as ideas go, I've become enamored with the idea of crossing Diablo and Overwatch, with basically the same premise as the OG DOOM. I might start that when my current project is done, though I might write some smaller stories before that, like one explaining the backstory of a species mod I made for Stellaris.

Anyone have crazy ideas that you get from time to time that you know you'll never write but are fun to think on? For example, years ago I wrote a fic crossing Diablo 2 and Digimon 02, every so often I thought about coming back and writing something new with lessons learned in the intervening years.

i find motivation/inspiration to be very random and sudden at times

Finally finished the first chapter of my latest fic not too long ago so I'm feeling pretty good about that. If you mean "crazy" as in legitimately weird stuff that doesn't exactly even work, then I had a few:
- MHA x LOTR, after being a formless shadow for millennia, Sauron's remaining essence latches on to Dabi and basically gradually highjacks his body eventually to be a lying, scheming piece of flame-wielding shit. I admit, this one I made up for fun on a dare because someone said LotR is literally anime.
- StarCraft x Mass Effect, but it's mostly was an excuse to go "erm, akshually" about protoss psionics and ME biotics and how would a Siege Tank fare against MAKO
- Bloodborne x RBWY, with explicit attempt to make it not hilariously edgy, also Doll and Ruby interactions.
Honestly, crossing Bloodborne is funny because you realise it's literally just one big city of retards and the scope of the story is surprisingly small. And Great Ones aren't all that powerful outside of time-travel/time warp thing.
I never thought about using Overwatch universe because it always felt like there is no universe in it.

I think I mentioned the idea in one of these threads but a Star Wars x 40K crossover where it's an alternate Dark Empire Star Wars galaxy invading the Warhammer galaxy and actually fucking up the Warhammer factions pretty bad. It's meant to be an inverse of the more common "Star Wars Galaxy being attacked by 40" fics I've seen out there. I'd put a ton of EU force users as subordinates of Palpatine like Kueller, Desann and Hethrir in there, and Hethrir would be kind of a joke villain that lucks his way into multiple victories while more competent people fail and die.

The joke would be that what created a giant wormhole through space and time connecting the two galaxies is that Tilotny randomly manifested in the Warp and (temporarily) killed the Chaos Gods while messing around. Which fucks up psychic powers and the forces of chaos for the entire 40k galaxy in the fic. So Palpatine has an easier time because the 40k galaxy is going through a ton of problems already when he invades.

Not in person, since it's been thousands upon thousands of years after the Third Age. Sauron in particular is still there because denied any sort of afterlife or rebirth, doomed to wander the world until the end of times, so he's there, powerless (he just happened to find a guy who was susceptible enough to influence him).
Still, Quirks are basically magic (both in how they work and whole vestige thing) and people do exhibit just naturally weird qualities like natural green/purple hair and red eyes and whatnot. So there is an argument to be had that humans intermingled with elves, dwarves and hobbits at some point, and maybe someone like Radagast is still around because he never seemed to leave.
But no real intervention from the big good because the entire thing is that they don't need to. Humans can deal with this just fine by themselves, and Sauron is reduced to stealing a body of one guy to try and get something done with lies, deceit and not self-immolating. A fall from grace, if you really look at it... Even if in the moment he might appear cool by turning ground into lava and whatnot. He doesn't even go by his old names, instead simply pretending to be Dabi because at this point why wouldn't he.

yeah, unfortunately, my own experience on the fanfic front is really constrained to FF and Ao3, the rest of it is just stuff I could tell from a glance at the respective sites and looking at fanlore wiki entries and feedback from anons.
and from that I take it most /co/ anons just don't really use sites besides those either, there wasn't much for them other anons mentioned
spacebattles has enough of a niche for itself that there's a lot to remark on, but SV and QQ are basically just SB2 and SB after dark respectively tmk, so there's just less to put there for them.
RR is very big (that Dungeon Crawler Carl thing spawned from there and it's apparently gotten fucking huge, I saw a million of fuckers cosplaying as it at a recent con) but it's more of a eastern thing or something. And i think more of an original work/litrpg focus.

How do I write a Code Geass isekai OC fic where superpowers exist, but the world has zero concept of the paranormal?
The premise: It's like The Walking Dead, but instead of zombies, people are dealing with secret superpowers and mind control, except nobody in the setting has any concept of supernatural things.
Near the start of the series, my OC watches 0 use Geass on live TV. But because nobody knows what hypnosis or mind control is, everyone just assumes the target is being blackmailed or having a breakdown.
The setting is the gritty, low-to-mid scale violent occupied state of Area 11(What they call Occupied Japan that different Britain country's occupying). Life under Britannia sucks, and my OC's life before being isekaied was way easier.
Because the OC actually recognizes what supernatural mind-control looks like, they immediately start hunting down the person responsible ( zero ), hoping a magic power user can somehow send them home.
How do I write an isekai MC navigating a realistic geopolitical military occupation where everyone writes off reality-breaking powers as blackmail or pure coincidence? Give me advice or structural tips on how to pull this off.

Lewis and Clark (and co) are canoeing the Missouri River and cross into Middle-earth via the Anduin. They're natural explorers, and Lewis' writings lend themselves to mapping Middle-earth (kind of like 'Manifest Destiny' Lewis).
My only holdback is Tolkien's legendarium and Lewis' journals. I want to do my research before getting something wrong like the weapons that the Corps would've been familiar with. I don't know anything about the era and all my geographic knowledge is modern. The nice thing about RWBY is that due to its ridiculous breadth of inspirations you can reasonably cross it over with vastly different things that wouldn't even necessarily cross over well with each other (both fantasy like Bloodborne and sci-fi like Starcraft)

Where did you grow up? You don't have to answer if you're not comfortable or still there (If so, then get out while you can, it's clearly not healthy. ) If what you're claiming is even partly true, then it strikes me as something local/regional. 4chan is by no means indicative of the general sentiment of anything in the wider population. It also changes over time, any oldfag still trapped here can tell you stories. This place is troll central, anyone here in the past saying they'll hunt you down and kill you for even daring to consider writing fanfiction is just trying to get a rise out of you, to scare you, all for the lulz. Going outside and talking to even normal-ish people should disprove most of what you've heard.

You just need to remember to take everything you see online with a grain (or more) of salt.
