Wherein he claims that Marvel comics was entirely a CIA psyop to push a positive message about nuclear energy and radiation. Is there any truth to this? Also, he claims that Donal Trump being elected was a direct result of American comic books.

Nuclear energy being dangerous is literally Cold War propaganda made to keep fossil fuel industries rich by suppressing an alternate source that they cannot compete with. There was a similar information campaign against fracking, which had its marginal risks put way out of proportion so the people who already had money didn't need to lose any. Until they got to implement it in their own oil drilling, then it conveniently stopped being a political issue instantly.
>>
>>155667903
Nuclear energy risks are not fucking marginal.

No, normalfag

Way to out yourself.

Nuclear is irrelevant now anyways outside of legacy groups and people unwilling to invest in the much cheaper and more mitigatory solar.

anon i get that nuclear is not the same but you don't need to talk shit and say it hasn't had risks.

we need all forms of alternative energy. wind, solar, geothermal and nuclear. all of it.

It's not like radiation was always a huge positive in Marvel (Hulk isn't having a great time).
A few bad guy/monster types were created by radiation
its basically more of a spin off from poverty row monster/sci fi films from the 1950s
>Oh no a giant Gila monster Is attacking this small town
>what made the Gila monster so huge?
>ummm....nuclear testing

>Marvel comics was entirely a CIA psyop
What?

> Donal Trump being elected was a direct result of American comic books.
I van believe this to a certain degree, were america keeps pushing the idea of the strongman in their culture so they vote for someone who sells himself as a strongman.
>>
>>155668385
No
>>
>>155669304
Meh, sounds like just that radiation was a creative bullshitery you can explain powers and character origins with.
>>
>>155667098
I think it's loosely based on a theory people had about Stan Lee and/or Marvel having CIA ties indirectly because of Lee's involvement with Signal Corps. I almost want to say the late Bob Beerbohm brought this up, or maybe that Rise and Fall of Stan Lee book by Riesman, but I can't recall.
>>
sounds retarded.
The problem with Moore, is he's a LARPer.
You mingle a little in actual conspiracy and magic communities, and you realise Moore doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about.
He's not a real socialist either.
>>
>>155668175
They are risks. The detriment of fossil fuels aren't even risks, they are a certainty.
>>
>>155669887
I don't usually like the over-relaince of the term LARPer that I see recently but if anyone fits the bill, yes, it's Moore.
>>
>>155669887
Hes more versed in this stuff than Grant Morrison, dont be silly

That watchmen curse is real, look at Zack Snyder

Just a reminder that just creating the materials need to make so called "clean energy" is even more environmentally damaging than oil or gas. Electric car batteries alone put out more Carbon Dioxide than just about anything else and certainly more than what the car offsets in its lifetime. Wind turbine blades are non biodegradable and when they get worn out, they just get buried under ground.

Some one post the pic of Kamala Kahn telling everyone to vote only to end up crying when the person she didnt like got voted in.

Well I guess that's one good thing about him.

Don't even get me started on the copper mining needed to make electric vehicle batteries

>Also, he claims that Donal Trump being elected was a direct result of American comic books.
Nah, comics lack the cultural power they had in the 90s. Donald Trump is the Internet President in much the same way Roosevelt was the Radio President

The Marvel-USA Govt thing might be true. Remember when they did a comic with Northrop Grumman? the backlash from that was pretty funny

Trump was very obviously elected because white working class people had sat by and watched their quality of life go down hill, while everyone basically gave them shit for complaining.
Say what you will about Trump, but it's their own fault for hanging those people out to dry, and essentially giving them to Trump for free.
>nurr nurr nurr Fascism!
No one fucking cares, Alan. It's not the 80's. You're not fighting Thatcher. it's not cute anymore.

They’re absolutely, definitionally, marginal. It’s just that the catastrophic outcome from disaster means the risk outweighs the reward.
>>

Anon you can hate trump and his voters while accepting what anon said.
>>
>>155667098
>>155671560
IIRC his claim in general wasn't about superhero comics but superhero stuff in general (ie MCU). It's still kind of dumb because the people who supported Trump were usually the ones who bailed on comics as a whole decades ago and get their news from people who complain about the "M-She-U" or whatever

Doesn't solar produce like a tenth of the power of nuclear with the same footprint?
>>
>>155672818
And it requires way more manufacturing and, there for, more environmental damage.

Trump bring elected because of comic books is a far stretch.
He was elected because of tv and social media.
>>
>>155674360
He was elected because the populace is dumb enough to like and worship MCU slop.
>>
>>155667098
>Donald Trump being elected was a direct result of American comic books.
Does he not know about Gamergate?
>>
>>155667903
Most anti-nuclear energy movements were actually started by the Soviets (and now are part of Russia's subversion campaigns even to this day). So if you're anti-nuclear energy than you're anti-american and pro-gay rape and prison culture

Seethe

>>
>>155674423
Thats just describing how much the population likes to watch slop.
Not why a mayority liked Trump enough to vote for him.
