Secret Wars 2015 was the only good Secret War. In fact, I would go so far as to say that it was the only good event Marvel’s had this century.
>>
Where we dropping, boys?
>>
The ending was lame.
It really should've ended with the 616 becoming a blend of the other universes.
Not just Miles.
They already did the origin box lead up, that supposedly killed millions and turns cities into entirely new places, it's weird how that whole thing was dropped, including starbrand and the like.
It should've ended up more like the dc universe with real and fictional cities.

Greenland seems safest
>>
>>155669655
>Greenland
>the place where literally everyone and everything is a Hulk
>safe
>>
>>155669505
The main series completely squandered the premise. People actually thought they'd get Game of Thrones Multiverse Marvel Edition. Instead it was a bunch of What Ifs in the form of tie-in issues and minis with the main book being the start and end of it all while having barely anything to do with them. Should've been Doom being something like the Crypt Creeper and telling multiverse tales to the heroes trying to stop him.

All events are trash.

As with many things

Piracy is objectively good for preservation
Not every act of piracy is a lost sale
People have varying valid reasons to pirate concerning distribution, accessibility, second hand market prices, etc
But anything (at least with comics and cartoons) that has benefitted from the word of mouth from piracy never needed said word of mouth to begin with to be profitable in the first place.

Not comic related but yeah
>>
>>155671607
Anon, I literally said I believe piracy is good for preservation
I'm 100% supportive of rescan efforts, I dislike coloring alterations for re-releases, etc
I'm just saying the stuff that needs 5k to 20k (for a Marvel/DC title) isn't reaching those bare minimum monthly numbers thanks to piracy because those are small numbers period
You either pass it or you don't regardless of piracy
Absolute Batman would still be running if it didn't have a mass pirating audience especially when a significant amount of said pirates aren't even Americans to begin with
>>
>>155669505
Its literally the last good thing Marvel made before all went to shit.
>>
>>155669505
CoIE flat out sucks. It's the most important comic DC ever made, but it sucks so HARD.
>>
I don't care. SW1 is my guilty pleasure and yeah it could have done less with some of the alien city shit that was mega boring and the Thing nonsense where he's depowered or whatever.
>>

>It's the most important comic DC ever made
No.

Medusa is one of the most underrated females in Marvel. First one to have a solo comic. Right of birth was great. Second longest non family member of member of F4. Her relationship with Black Bolt before Marvel shit on it. She was great.

Is Shulkie the longest?

Most critically-acclaimed and fan-favorite comics from before the 1980s and after the 1990s are pretty bad.
>>
>>155669505
Marvel should have commited to a reboot after this, the sliding timescale just cant work with 60 years worth of stories, heck they should have really commited to a soft reboot after their first relaunch in 98 and given most of their characters actual endings, kind of like what PAD did with his final issue of Hulk.

That goes for a lot of "iconic" comic arcs/issues. Death of Superman was a garbage story as well, for example. People act like it was a huge deal but that's 100% marketing. Even back then anyone with half a brain understood that it wasn't going to be permanent, no matter how many newspaper ads DC paid for. Only the stuff that happened after his "death," like Reign of the Supermen, was any fun at all.

Interesting. I've never read Secret Wars, but that description fits Futures End perfectly.

>>155676936
This. Same with The Dark Phoenix Saga and A Death in the Family.

This

they should’ve had a soft transition from 98 onwards and made MC2 their main line by like 2005

i would normally have said wierdworld, but its way too ufcking close to the wall for my liking. wheres the land where blackbolt was a crooner?
>>

When? Where? I need to read this. Now.
>>

All events should stop.

Let titles do their plot arcs without being interrupted every year for the EVENT!!!11!

I liked it. I just hate that it is fragmented over several series.

I like Ewing but anytime he brings up Tarot or has one of those metaphor fights it turns me off.

only the secret warrios and FF are good.

ultimate universe and new avengers 2015 are readable and cool, but almost good.
>>
>>155682358
Is that really unpopular? Seems a pretty common opinion nowadays
>>
>>155669505
It would be perfect if was the ending and the start of a good reboot.

but no, after this Marvel became a mess
>>
>>155669551
>The ending was lame.

The ending was good, DOOM finally saying out loud that Reed could do a better job.
>>
>>155669505
Secret Wars was so bad that it got me to almost completely stop reading Marvel. I’ve probably checked out 4 titles since 2016
Can’t wait for the movie to flop and be vindicated even further
>>
>>155686158
>Everything that happened prior to Doom and Richard’s fighting doesn’t matter
>Oh, shit. Ultimate Reed is about do something? lol, fuck no
>Reed beats Doom because Miles gave Molecule Man a decade old cheeseburger
Go ahead and eat your slop, but just know that you’re bringing down all of fiction with storytelling like this. Multiverse slop is bottom of the barrel writing
>>
>>155685288
I get a lot of pushback when I mention it.
>>
>>155676841
Fuck no.
There has never been a single good universal reboot in comics. The lack of reboots is why I pick Marvel over DC.
>>
>>155688843
I'll push back, baby.
>>
>>155688878
Stories need endings, characters need grand finales, Marvel is way past jumping the shark in all of its properties because it refuses to let go. You are legit retarted if you buy into the mental gymnastic that the Spider-Man you are reading today is the same one who was swinging around 1980s manhattan, it does not work. Characters need a clean slate every few decades for a new generation, sometimes that version works other times it doesnt, thats just the way it is
>>
>>155690264
That's gay.

>it was the only good event Marvel’s had this century.
Secret invasion and Dark Reign were fun.
>>
>>155682358
Define "crossover". Do you mean when a storyline goes through two characters' books, or even more broadly when two characters of different series appear in the same book?
>>
>>155681014
It's simple really. Writers and artists should know a year in advance when they tie-in will be publish so they can structure their runs in a way that the tie-in doesn't interrupt storylines. If the event is going to change the status quo in a book the writer of that book should be handling all aspects of the change including what's happening in the event.

>>155686158
Illuminating Comics' parody of SW2015 managed to have a more thematically apropos and emotionally cathartic ending.
>>
>>155669505
lots of secret wars threads lately. Disney marketing push?

>Illuminating Comics' parody of SW2015 managed to have a more thematically apropos and emotionally cathartic ending.

did you have it around so i can read?
>>
>>155692138
Both. The former is significantly more grating, the latter always feels cheap.
>>
>>155694106
Yes and readers talking about it. You cant clearly differ between those two groups.
>>
>>155669505
>Secret Wars 2015 was the only good Secret War
There's only been two Secret Wars
>>
>>155681904
And it was Quill who became a crooner.
