I dont get the sense he doesnnt enjoy it. But he looks a bit out of place on behind the scenes video like he is particularly struggling with it.

Kelsey Grammar

What do you mean by that?

i'm curious on both sides here. i've never seen the guy particularly love the role or anything like that, but i don't get the impression he hates it either. it always just felt like "yeah, it's a role and it makes pretty good money"
>>
I honestly cant watch these movies anymore because I know the actors are all phonies rolling their eyes at every line of dialouge wishin they were doing a tarantino or wes Anderson flick instead
>>
>>155671968
No

He got famous playing basically a comic book superhero in Sherlock, so no big change for him
>>
>>155672010
>Scarlett Johansson made around $14 million to $35 million for blockbuster Marvel movies like Avengers: Endgame, but took a massive pay cut to earn just $4,131 a week (about $33,000 total for two months) for Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City

You’re lying to yourself
>>
>>155671683
Hemworth's character in Furiosa looks a lot like Thor so I'm guessing he loves the character.
>>
>>155674237
who’s gonna tell him
>>
>>155672572
Yeah his version of Sherlock was more cheesy than capeshit.

Someone always replies to deny this, but it was pretty clear in his interviews about the Doctor Strange sequel (where the plot was completely changed between him signing up and the start of filming) that he was disenchanted with the whole MCU experience.

Generally when you're a major leading man you get to approve the story and maybe a fake producer credit. With the MCU until recently you signed a contract and then did whatever Feige decided the story should be this week.

>until recently you signed a contract and then did whatever Feige decided the story should be this week
Based Feige. That's what you have to do to hold a cinematic universe together. If you let the directors do whatever they want it will all fall apart as they each try to leave their mark with stupid bullshit.
You have to think long term.

Well he didn't rein Taika Waititi in very good then
>>

Feige's thing at this time seemed to be to give the director a few plot points they had to do and leave the rest to them. Maybe this was because of the pandemic making it harder for producers to go on set, I don't know.

So the Doctor Strange sequel was mandated to be about the multiverse, have the kid sidekick and Wanda, but after the pandemic delayed production, Feige allowed Sam Raimi to throw out the entire story the previous director had developed and just do a campy Raimi slasher movie with Strange and Chavez running from Wanda for two hours.
>>
>>155671683
The first Doctor Strange is criminally underrated, and I don't even like most MCU movies.

Acting is gig work. How many $14 million payday films has ScarJo starred in since 2019?

The Thing actor

Yeah it's genuinely pretty good. The only issue with it is not establishing Dormammu as the main antagonist early enough, and not introducing Clea. More sequences and setpieces in the very Ditko-looking Dark Dimension would have put it over for me. Also I really love Michael Giacchino's theme, it's a perfect, decadent psychedelic theme, more befitting of comic Strange from the original Ditko comics up through Steve Englehart's 70's run than the actual movie itself.

I prefer the harpsichord rendition, if only for the lack of electric guitar, but you're right that the main theme is really great. Utter shame that they didn't reuse it for MoM.

MoM is an utter shame in general, we could've had Nightmare but instead we got WandaVision 2.0 and teases for multiverse stuff that went absolutely nowhere. Derrickson should've been able to make the movie he wanted, not even Raimi could save it.
>>
>>155676612
I still have no idea what Feige was thinking with making America Chavez so central to the whole plan that he was willing to force her into a Doctor Strange movie. There was no point where the multiverse storyline would ever have had only one way of traveling between universes anyway.

I suppose the best guess is that he was obsessed with setting up a "Young" Avengers team, but it got delayed just like whatever he was setting up with Clea.

Why the fuck isn’t Giacchino just doing every MCU score? This and his F4 work are great

Alan Silvestri is no slouch either. His Captain America fanfare is character-defining, and his Avengers theme gives me goosebumps everytime.

This nigga is such a mark for finally being able to play Gambit i can't help but find it endearing
>>
>>155678611
Same, he really wanted it and finally got it, even if his face is squeezing out of the head-sock. He did nail the Cajun accent, though.
>>
>>155678611
Came to say this. He's truly a fan of the character and I'm sure he could write a much better comic than idiot Simone.
Another one is Nicolas Cage.
>>
>>155678629
Actually being Cajun probably helped with that.

Even though I didn't like his Superman, i genuinely believe he had lots of fun playing him.

And even though I really like David MyCornIsWet's iteration of Superman, I feel like it's only a step in the ladder for him.

DORMAMU

He's literally gone on record that it's one of his favorite roles and is always glad to be called back for it, but you keep on being a huge annoying faggot.

It absolutely is and I thoroughly enjoyed it, which is the only reason I gave the sequel a shot and watched it in the theaters. The second one was such a fucking disappointment in comparison.

Benedict is an odd person to start the thread with. Benedict, like most professional british actors and thespians are always strict professionals. They understand how volatile the winds of fate are, and that every role could be their last. They do this for the love of the game, and are lucky that they get paid to do it. Because of this understanding, even for shit roles, they always give it their all. Ian Mckellen, Christopher Lee, Donald Pleasance, and the guy who played Tarkin were the same.
>>
>>155676095
I hate how he's had only one solo movie and has spent the rest of his appearances dealing with other people's problems.
>>
>>155682596
I mean I won't contest that. You're probably correct. Admiring actors is faggotry anyways when we know most of them are slaves to the jewish/satanic hierarchy. Oh well, I'll still enjoy my capeshit.

>>155671778
>loves the character so much he always asks to play him, no matter how small the role is, and will go through hours of make up for it

Anon nobody with two neurons believed or respected the pandemic. Much less so the wealthy elite at Hollywood.
