lol it only lasted half a day but in all seriousness good riddance to bad rubbish I say. I nor anybody else wants to hear abot this issue ever again. In all honesty for many this people this issue is the final nail in the coffin for the main series.

That isn't his name.
It's Gwenschizo. And I detect a lacking amount of A.I. hulk diaper spam so I suspect some will be posted soon since Gwenschizo enjoys that material very much.
>>
It was an entirely fine issue, couple of the anniversary strips were even pretty nice. Even Bendis shockingly did such a good job I didn’t realise he was the writer until the last page with credits. Triple-H’s comic being just Ben and Peter going to a wrestling match meanwhile was just a complete nothing burger, and no, the last page fanservice didn’t add anything.

>just what the hell made you think Gwen had made off with harry had she lived back then MJ was more into harry
Stunning media literacy. Though unsurprising, considering a schizo pedophile thinks this. Jarvis, pull up all panels where MJ shirks Harry and leaves without him and also pull up all of Gwenschizo's posts saying MJ is a whore for treating Harry that way, showing he is cognizant of MJ NOT being into him. Thus, exposing Gwenschizo's retardation and delusion into thinking he has any impact on 4chan or life in general. Also exposing how he can't keep his arguments straight and contradicts himself all the time while ignoring Gwen getting TURNED OUT by the BGC lime the little WHORE she is.

>Triple-H’s comic being just Ben and Peter going to a wrestling match meanwhile was just a complete nothing burger

It was fun as far as guest writers one-off goes. It didn't belong in a giant sized #1000 but neither did cowboy dream Spider-man or old folks home Dementia Spider-man. You can tell they were just trying to fill pages.
>>
The plot being Peter's evil cousin erasing Peter from May's memories is really stupid. It just doesn't feel 1000 worthy. 1000 should have been about Peter's child being born or something along those lines.
>>
>>155672075
Dementia Spider-Man is appropriate for an anniversary issue as it shows a possible 'ending' for Peter. I don't think it was a very good story but I can see why, thematically, it was considered to be noteworthy enough to include.

The wrestling story, the story about the cop, and the 'anniversary' story all belonged in something like the AMS Extra! they did back during the [original] BND era. They're cute little concepts that shouldn't be in a numbered issue, even as a backup, but also not important enough to take up pages in a landmark anniversary. Does Marvel still put out something akin to Extra?

Then what was this about? You can't even comprehend English and have to use a fucked up translator. You're fucking spamming the board with threads and denying that people care about GOOD Spider-Man.
>reviews
Yeah that's by the same people who would enjoy MJ as the main love interest in a story that has progression and stakes. The fucking "Muh Gwen" shit is part of the reason why it got bad reviews, retarded schizo pedophile.
>Oh please give me a break had people truly cared about it they would not have lashed out so much and the thread would have lasted longer
They don't care about bad Spider-Man moron. It was disappointing like everyone expected and nobody bothered spamming it like you're doing.

Maybe their online exclusive stuff like Infinity Comics. It has stuff like Peter going on a day with yet another Spider-woman called Webhead and a bunch slice of life kind of Pet Avengers/Jeff the Land Shark content.
>>
I love JRJ so much bros i don't understand the hate
those 2000 issues where Peter and MJ go to Hollywood are always shat on and mocked because of how blocky and weird the faces are, but i love that art style
i would 100% prefer some JRJ to Alex Ross
go fuck your hyper-realistic comic up your bumhole
>>
>>155672420
Either his art skills have gotten worse or the colourers back in the day did a better job cleaning up his faces but he's arguably the worst artist at Marvel and the only reason he got the job was his dad. I used to shit on Greg Land but honestly I would prefer his art to JRJR any day. The fact that they let him draw every other issue of Spider-man for this last run is insane.

Maybe it's because i grew up reading European comics and many had weird stylized art but i like him too.
I've seen American readers shit on Hayden Sherman's art for the same reason, because it's not "realistic" enough.
I think the gold standard for Americans is someone like Ed Benes.

The cowboy one was odd segment but whatever. Old man peter in a retirement home was good though and worked as a good non-canon bookend, especially when it dealt with Gwen in a novel way
>>
>>155672242
The cop story was entirely appropriate when it did Spider-man’s origin from an alternative POV and found a good way to close it in modern day while still addressing Peter’s core motivation to be a hero
>>
>>155673070
>villain that makes no sense connected to the hero's origins

The villain works for an anniversary issue
>>
>>155672798
weird stylized art has a place and time but I don't really want it in modern mainline Marvel/DC comics. Also JRJR is the only artist still around whose art looks worse the more detail is put into the characters and if you look at the level of quality and detail expected of comics leaving his original run and going into the late 80s with the end of color limits and the use of high quility paper, there's a huge jump in quality. Guys like Mike Deodato, Tod Mcfarlane, Erik Larsen, Mark Bagley all have styles that can get a little I don't know what to call it, doofy, cartoony or off model. but switching from one to the other inbetween a run was never as jarring as going from Pepe Larraz to JRJR in this last year.
>>
Thought it fine but nothing special the drama with Cormac was pretty predictable but makes me wonder how the Triple H story wound up being the best one out of the bunch.

Anyway my three favourite covers were Bermejo, Ross, and J Scott Campbell.
>>
>>155672420
I think JRJR is over-hated, but he's seriously declined as an artist since the 90s. And, yeah, modern inkers and colorists have done him no favors.

This anniversary issue could have done a triple axel, jerk you off, do your taxes and serve you dinner and people would still scream from the top of their lungs that it was the worst thing ever published and Nick Lowe purposefully made it that way to piss on your cereal.
>>
>>155674004
I blame Spider-Man Blue and Marvels
>>
>>155673625
He's 70 everyone knows the declined is real but it's not the colorists job to fix a bad penciller art. He should have retired by now and Marvel should not be handing their crown jewel character to him in 2026. If they wanna "take care" of him and throw him some pay cheques his way, throw more cover art work his way. Like I get he was a part of some important runs in the series and his dad was on the mount Rushmore of Marvel but they're making the series worse and ignoring better young talent and tarnishing his legacy by putting him on half a series and rotation between him and Larraz. If he was a solo artist on a smaller series, It wouldn't be so jarring and people wouldn't be mocking him so openly. Between this and all the poor handling of the character from the Spider-man editorial, Part of me honestly thinks this has got to be a giant social experiment to see how much they can shit on the character and still have him be the face of Marvel.

>>155674047
Maybe that wasn't Peter's future and that was Ben and he named his son after his dad/creator.
>>
>>155674094
>This anniversary issue could have done a triple axel, jerk you off, do your taxes and serve you dinner

Well it didn’t.

Instead the comics spent a hundred issues going MUH GWEN and MUH MAY.

Maybe they should make a comic that “does a triple axel, jerk you off, do your taxes and serve you dinner” instead of making another Gwen Stacy jerkfest.

It should've been Peter's daughter being about kindergarten age, with him and MJ having already had a second child, a son, who was more of an infant as the status quo that was because established over the last 18 years, with a new villain having learned his secret identity long ago and continuously been screwing with him over the last couple of years or more, showing up to his kids school, messing with MJ, May, etc. This issue should've been a culmination of all that with the guy pulling a Raimi Goblin and blasting through their apartment, giving Aunt May a heart attack, stealing their kid(s), and tossing MJ out the window. Pete's at the Bugle and has to crash through the window and swing off to his place, leaving Jameson stunned, and has to make a daring decision on whether to let MJ drop and go after the kids or risk their lives. Manages to save MJ, and chase the guy down, getting put into the much gut wrenching bought of acrobatics ever yet put to page as he tries to keep up and get a hit in without harming the kids. Eventually the guy drops the daughter and Pete just manages to divebomb after her and pulls off some ingenious nonsense to stop the guy up and starts an epic beat down after saving the other kid (or alternatively MJ is pregnant and goes into labor) they really duke it out and it looks like Pete's going to lose with the bad guy stalking towards his daughter/kids menacingly, but then Pete summons strength he didn't know he had and pummels him into the ground until he's a bloody pulp. Meanwhile Jameson makes it to their apartment and helps MJ get May to the hospital, Pete takes off with the kids leaving the bad guy for the cops, figures out what happened, and makes it to the hospital where he finds Aunt May stable and possibly MJ with new baby if going with the pregnant plotline, meanwhile the bad guy summons a second wind and beats the cops unconscious before taking off in a rampage
>>
>>155675250
back at the hospital Jameson approaches Pete and doesn't get a chance to rent say anything about Spider-Man but tells him not to worry about the hospital bills or the apartment because he's taken care of it, just then the bad guy bursts through the wall again and attacks. He gets the upper hand on Peter, but is subdued by a surprise attack from off panel. Looking over in shock, Peter realizes that his daughter had developed Spider powers and shot organic webbing at the guy blinding him. He stumbles out the hole in the wall and falls to his doom. Before they have time to process this, they realize Jameson is in critical condition and he's rushed to the E.R. he's saved, but in a coma with Pete at his bedside getting emotional and crying about how he was too hard on ol hatchet face all these years, but then Jonah comes to and insults him, Pete starts laughing despite himself and JJJ Jr. arrives rushing into the room and fawning over his injured Father, telling him he's a hero for defending the Parkers from the bad guy. Pete leaves them alone and had a tender moment with his family to end the issue.

This begins a multi issue arc of if Jameson remembers Peter is Spider-Man, being insufferable about "saving" the Parkers from the bad guy and promoting himself as the true hero of NYC, if not the world in the paper and getting the key to the city, being peeved be had to pay for Pete's apartment repairs and hospital bills but feeling pigeonholed into it by the hero story, Pete's daughters burgeoning yet spotty and little understood powers, and Pete and MJ having to move back in with Aunt May while their apartment is being repaired/living with May and Anna then eventually selling the apartment once it's repaired and buying back his childhood home to raise the family in depending on where it currently sits.

Now, THAT'S how you do an issue # 1000 of Amazing Spider-Man.

The problem with so many of the back up stories like these is that they seem like nice sentiment but that's all they really are. There's not a story. There's nothing being built towards. And it feels like there hasn't been anything real like that for a long while. It's just cheap attempts to play at emotional pandering. "Ah gee it sure was swell of Cap to hang around to congratulate spider-man on his own anniversary he forgot." That's it. It's hollow and it's a waste of page.

>I acknowledged how bad the story is. I just got it for collecting purposes, and I thought this particular variant looked cool. Get off your high horse, these are American funny books, not works of high art lmao.
More repeated Slott argumentation points.
>It's comics. What did you expect?
I expect the modicum of effort required for A STORY that matches the ESTABLISHED world and CHARACTERS that came before with their ESTABLISHED CHARACTER and HISTORY.
>Sorry, but spending $10 on a comic book for the first time in years just isn't that big of a deal to me. I'm not broke.
That's how you end up broke with this type of thinking. Also imagine spending that much on such dogshit. Couldn't be me.
>Anon, Marvel made it's money regardless if I buy it or not. They make money off of what stores order, not direct sales
Yeah I know. Guess what? The store has to make money. And if they don't sell they go under. Thus the future profits of Marvel go up in smoke in the future you dense fuck.
>Yeah, sure you will buddy. You get right on that.
Smug pricks like this are emblematic of people who cannot conceive of rising above their own shitty lives.

I honestly believe this fuck is Slott or a Slott-sycophant. Next time, come in heavy and not like a castrated and mewling goyslop consuming faggot.
>>
>>155677573
>anon is so ass mad he's advocating for stores to go under because they are selling a book you don't like.
This is why the industry is dying and why you deserve it.

FYI, the collector has the demented story and slott's (but I repeat myself) as his favorites.

>>155677089
The only one that was good was the retelling of amazing fantasy 15 from the cops perspective but it's hard to give it full credit because if you asked someone to retell Peter's origin from the cops perspective most people would write more or less what we got. I've never been a fan of Harry as the Goblin, especially after Norman came back and retconned he had been messing with Harry's psychologically So requiem for a Goblin didn't really hit and again it's a rehash of an old storylines and adding a scene so it's hard to give it credit. The rest unoffensive at best.
>>
>>155677611
You are sub-human holy shit lol
>>
>>155677611
This fag is so dense that putting pressure on stores to advocate for better books is somehow immoral and that consumers not buying goyslop is le heckin...problematic?! Fuck Slott and his muh sales and muh gwen. Throw that kike you as well (perhaps you're both) to the curb and get curb stomped.
>>
>story is trash, but I'm obligated to buy it
What causes this thinking?
>>
You know who else hides behind comic book stores to justify his atrocities? You guessed it.
>>
Stan and the gang used to joke about just selling the covers and not having anything between them, but with collectors you might as well. Goddamn gatcha expensive JPG thinking.

Sloit's was surprisingly one of the better ones, and I usually shit on Slott. It was certainly better than Bendis.

You guys are acting like I regularly buy this shit when I said I, several times now, that I don't regularly buy comics, because they're so shit. I don't even pirate modern Marvel, I just catch storytimes on /co/. Sorry that me buying a book you don't like has got your panties so twisted.

>Peter got cucked out of May's love
Paul is only gone physically, not spiritually.

>>155677836
That's shit Slott would say to appear like he isn't here.
Also it's the same Slott shit as 801. So your taste is abysmal. He can't create anything new. That was almost 10 years ago now.
>>
Marvel-Insider here, just got word that Lowe and Slott are taking the nooses out from their desk after seeing the issue 1000 reaction and sales numbers.
Also got word they're currently in an enclosed office getting ready to go through with some...ritual?
Apparently the ghost of Stan Lee shows up this time of year and when asked with the question of whether they should shuffle off this mortal, earthly coil, Lee's ghost said, "EEEEEXXXXXXXCELSIOR!!!!!!!!!!"
Though Devin White just walked back from that room with a tear in his eye and said they're gonna be ok. Though I didn't see a smile on his face.....
>>
>>155677836
To be fair it's not even a new story. It's adding 3 new scenes to an iconic story and by changing the POV.
>>
>>155677890
When you see a faggot like this singling out Slott's story as praiseworthy and trying pathetically to say it's not him, it's him. Also the aformentioned writing quirks and bits that he focuses on are also Slott hallmarks.
>>
>>155677848
The same force that conjured him, defended him and kept finding reasons to keep him around for twice as long as Gwen being alive and the Clone Saga is still there.
The spirit will be there until the last of BND is fumigated.

The consequence of enrage to engage is that the audience and Bullpen have a deep antipathy for each-other, and I don't know what they expected to happen.

My god, I forgot, this is why I don't engage with comic readers regularly. You're all such insufferable drama queens that have a meltdown and act like it's the end of the world that some stranger you'll never meet buys a comic book you dislike. Didn't think I'd cause such an epic freakout even when i acknowledge in my very first post how shit the story is, but hey, you guys will hyper focus on what you want to hyper focus on and then throw a big baby temper tantrum. The funniest part is the guy who wants to get into the comic industry. Honestly, I hope you do bud. That in and of itself is exactly the punishment you deserve.
>>
>>155677611
The stores will stay in business because they'll continue to sell manga and anime figurines. They'll just gradually phase out DC/Marvel comics until their sales are impacted to such a degree that they lay off their entire staff and outsource their comics to Japan. (This will enrage the Slott)
>>
>>155678038
>outsource their comics to Japan
At this point that's the good ending.
>>
>>155678029
Cool story, bro.
>>
Golly, don't you think Slott's backstory hijacking royalties attempt was a gay old time? So much better than my riv- Bendis. You guys hate Bendis, right? I love Gwen Stacy, mm-hmm!
>>
>>155677366
I bought action comics 1000 because I stumbled into a cover by Dave gibbons as an homage to goofy 50s comics covers, I haven’t seen a single cover from this book that looks interesting enough to buy and most of the stories weren’t worth it. Though the one written by triple h was wholesome
>>
>>155677682
> I usually shit on Slott

>>
>>155678029

>>
>>155677950
I think some people will outright lie and still get through the screening.
>>155677978
Nigga....if Slott is the type to post on 4chan, he's the type to go and get a pic of ASM 1 from someone else's collection who he says "Hey I'm Dan Slott, famous ASM writer! Can I see your collection?!" and take a pic and pass it off as his own.
>>155678029
Hey, the guy who said that here, you forgot to wipe the Brevoort cum from your mouth. The reason we focus on you buying it is because it supports the editorial and shit stories we suffer through. Not a hard concept to grasp. Is the dopamine high from the cum that is causing this stupidity?
>>
>>155677879
I can imagine there's a chance they've been coasting on false promises of all of their nonsense paying off with a huge explosion of sales for ASM # 1000
>>
Wait. The story was actually written by Triple H? I thought you guys were just being cheeky and giving some random a fun nickname
>>
>>155678038
Actually to be frank, most comic stores deserve to go out of business. They're wholly anti-consumer by having essentially a monopoly on comics. I'd much rather go into literally any other store than an LCS to buy books, that is if any books were even worth buying. They're not even worth pirating or skimming them in storytime threads. Anything worth keeping long term, I downloaded years ago.

>>155678081
>Though the one written by triple h was wholesome
That one surprised me too. I enjoyed it.

>>155678100
He treats Peter like a loser manchild when he hasn't been that since before Slott was born. A good portion of his stories don't even really make sense and rely on nostalgia bait. Clone Conspiracy is the perfect example of this, let's just bring back all of the important people that died in Spidey's life just for nostalgia's sake. And this is while he's trying to make Peter Tony Stark for no real reason. It was all so stupid and just all over the place. Red Goblin was dumb (though not as dumb as making Norman fucking Osborn his ally, but I digress), Clone Conspiracy was stupid and ruined Ben Reily to this fucking day for no fucking reason. The only thing I can say that I liked of Slott's was Superior. And that was mainly just because it was so different at the time. Spock was fun.

Oh shit, and I almost fucking forgot about Spider Verse. The storyline wasn't, but the concept was kind of neat as a one and one kind of thing, the first movie did the concept better imo, but holy shit, Marvel can't shut the fuck up with Spider-Verse and I am so fucking sick of it. It's so overplayed now and I can't stand that we have so many Spider people in the main continuity now. I just want stories where Spider-Man fights the Vulture or something, holy shit.
>>
>>155678180
Yes but it's 5 pages. It's not really much of a story. More like an interlude to the Bendis story.
>>
>>155677413

>>
>>155680929
Nobody gives a shit when it's not a real milestone. If Marvel hadn't dropped legacy numbering, Amazing Spider-Man should only be in the mid 700's now, it hasn't really made it to #1000.
>>
>>155680953
I don't think it's about the numbering. People have constantly had their intelligence insulted by the complete and utter slop put out by the Spoffice over the past two decades that very few people genuinely care about or like the series anymore. The movies and games aren't enough to make people interested in reading the comics, and the few who are would be turned off by the ongoing's horrendous reputation.
